    Unit is dead as of 6/5/24
    UPDATE
    After 3 months of use, this thing has been flawless. First two weeks, on medium fan speed, this unit extracted upwards of 10 gallons out of the basement. After extracting the initial 10 gallons, I have since set the fan speed to low, and now it quietly maintains a consistent 35% Humidity Level.

      How often did you run it and how much did your bill go up?

    • @OldSoulMillennial
      @OldSoulMillennial  2 роки тому +2

      @@taylorcampbell985 I leave the unit set at 60-65% humidity. Its alway powered on, but it doesn't run in the winter because the humidity is low. It does run about 70% of the time in the summer time. A rough guess, maybe added 15-20 bucks a month to the electric bill. Its a lot cheaper then mold remediation.
      I have a garden hose attached to the hose drain and that leads to my sump pit. If you don't attach a drain hose, the unit will not run until you empty the bucket. Prior to the drain hose, I would empty the bucket twice a day. The unit works like a champ!

    thanks! just bought one earlier today and your review helped me understand more about the unit. The Non-stop (NS) feature is great. Glad you pointed it out! It does look good for a dehumidifier. Hope to get many years of usage from it. Be well, David

    Good option for an external pump is a central AC condensate pump.

    If you have an old house or basement, or no vapor barrier under you concrete slab subfloor or moisture barrier on the outside of your house that's underground, good luck getting under 50% but 50 or even 55 is alot better than 65 or 70rh

    Just curious, when was yours manufactured? (says on the back) I bought mine today and it was made in May 2019. Reason I ask is that I'm concerned this is the old model shoved in the new box claiming that it could pull 70 pints under the old standards.

    The hose option, how does that work. I have the same one. There is a hose connection, and I’ve connected a hose only to have the bucket still fill up?

    • @OldSoulMillennial
      @OldSoulMillennial  4 роки тому +1

      I have not installed the hose in mine. There is No pump in this unit. So the hose just allows water to flow from the unit to what ever you route the hose to (must be lower then the unit). A floor drain, or a sump pump pit may be suitable options.

    So do you just empty the bucket reservoir when it shuts down? My Grand-daughter just moved in to a basement apartment with this model number in there but there was a number 1 at the end of the model number; manufactured in May, 2019. She asked me why it says empty when dehumidifiers collect water/the moisture. I guess I’m going to try & download an owners manuel as we’ve not had experience as we never bought a dehumidifier before. Surprised this is over $300.00 in price. That’s very steep!

    • @revrotunda3206
      @revrotunda3206 3 роки тому +1

      Never mind with an answer although nobody yet answered. It’s just a simple matter of emptying it when the unit reads “empty”. We’ve never owned a dehumidifier so we had no idea how it worked.

    • @OldSoulMillennial
      @OldSoulMillennial  4 роки тому

      No, it is not an air conditioner. This is a dehumidifier. It removes moisture out of the air

    • @seank9643
      @seank9643 3 роки тому +1

      It actually shoots out slightly warm air since all the energy used in the condenser ends up as heat and has nowhere else to exhaust.

      No doubt A/C’s draw more energy than a humidifier or a dehumidifier. But the goal is to get moisture out of a basement or put moisture back in your house, so an A/C is just not designed for those purposes.
