I was a ride engineer for the ToT in DCA and had the privilege of working on the ToT from design, installation and opening. I am thoroughly impressed with the immersion and the atmosphere you captured in the boiler room. Great job! Love it and makes me miss the original ToT. Truly a passion project and love letter to the ToT.
I saw someone mention that there were multiple drop sequences designed to add in to the DCA Tower for a future update back then, was this true?
@@Rodj12341 the ride was always designed to have options for its vertical ride profile. We had a mini ToT rig that we built to test out the various ride profiles. Great memories.
I am thrilled that you like the recreation. I would love if you are free to share any details or links to details regarding the design, blueprints, etc of the ride. I am hoping to make a 2-4 person Autonomous guided vehicle that can navigate in and out of the set, as well as construct a TOT library in the adjacent garage. The AGV has been the biggest challenge in finding people/know-how to achieve this without a having a Disney budget. Best regards,
@@ericrgarcia Would love to see a video of what the other drop profiles looked like. Do you or someone you know still happen to have the audio for the ride?
@@Rodj12341 unfortunately I have no video of the ride profiles or audio of the ride. Maybe some photos of the rig, but that’s about it. Ride profile programming was admittedly a different team, I was part of the ride mechanical team fwiw.
Just had to comment before this gets huge. This is the single most impressive love letter to a Disney attraction I’ve ever seen. Absolutely blown away. I desperately hope others can attempt something even half as impressive as this!
As a fan of the tower of terror, even have the tattoo of the building… that would be an amazing experience, but for now I will enjoy watching this multiple times and share it with others
If you have a TOT tatoo, you are a certified super-fan!
Absolutely incredible build, special creative execution and design. planetary or replicated facade on the exterior separating the projection and below room would be a great future addition.
Thanks for the suggestion; will be thinking about if i can implement your concept.
HOLY 💩!!!! This was INSANELY GOOD!!! 😆😆😆 Never went on the actual ride, but I saw the Disney movie as a kid based on it…this took me right back!!
Yes the movie was pretty good even though the movie did not have a tie-in with the Twilight Zone. Keep waiting for the new TOT movie.
Wow, just wow. This is insane in the very best of ways!!! Bravo for the dedication! 5 years and it’s all come together brilliantly!
This is Incredible!
This is the coolest homemade tribute I ever seen. You have captured all the details from the episodes and ride. You sir did an amazing job. I hope you do open your doors so people can actually experience this. Good job
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was awesome!!! I felt like I was right back at Disney on the ride!!
Thats great to hear!
holy crap the immersion is insane
That was the goal.
@@theultimatetowerofterrorre301 well done 👏
Pure INSANITY! This has INSPIRED me on another LEVEL. Thanks for sharing, and PHENOMENAL job👏
Sweet Zombie Jesus! That was amazing! Subscribed!
7:10 This is incredible and love that hologram!!
I have wondered if Serling would approve of his representation in the project; I like to believe he might.
@@theultimatetowerofterrorre301 I think he would!
This is so impressive. I’ve never ridden ToT so I didn’t know what to expect and you blew me away with the detail and immersion. Seeing the rain effects made my jaw drop. Great work!
I am almost sad to hear that many people have not gotten to ride on the Tower of Terror which I find is so much fun; obviously it impressed me enough to embark on this crazy project. I wish everyone (at least those not deathly scared of drops) gets to see it at least once, and if that is not possible can at least see the Tower of Terror Theater LOL.
This is absolutely incredible.
this is TOO GOOD!
I guess it proves I am obsessed as I am always looking to improve. Just today I decided to get another fog machine to shoot a fog jet which will overlay the Commercial projection at 2:18 of the video as the Actress walks down the boiler room walkway and a steam burst is released behind her. Always trying to comingle fantasy with reality.
Wow ! This is amazing - well done!
Twilight zone is my favorite tv series well done dude!
Thank you!
The amount of detail to many of the episodes is amazing!
Everything you have done is perfect! I wish I could experience it in person.
10/10 experience
As you can see Brandon always upgrading and making improvements
A dimension of sight…a dimension of mind
Very cool! Nice job.
🙏
AMAZING
This is absolutely incredible!
It is constantly being improved with new effects and props being actively developed.
My jaw literally fell open for the entire video. Amazing work. If you ever open this to the public, I will be first in line.
I may open up this Halloween, so check up on the community tab of the Channel for an announcement if you are local.
This is insane. Awesome.
Is this an Air BNB, because this really needs to be an AIR BNB!!! :-)
Hmm no I live here haha. It is not unusual that I may forget to turn off the set electronics and the Little girl lost knocker is banging on the brick column in the set; I can hear it in the upstairs bedroom. I dont think Airbnb'ers would appreciate that....
Rod Sterling's in the further
Amazing work and attention detail! I live in Vegas, are you giving any tours or open on Halloween?
Yes probably. I will post it on the channel.
This might actually be better than the original pre show 🔥
Really, I HOPE that I am not done adding and improving on the project.
@@theultimatetowerofterrorre301 as a fan of the OG series and someone who’s been on the ride a lot I can say that I’m truly blown away! You really thought of EVERYTHING. I love how it felt like a real show how the light directed your attention to what’s next, the sound design, all the references to the original show, how the “lightning” actually felt like it was all around you and lit up the yard, and the projections were amazing. And the practical effects like the fake rain and the sparks took me by surprise. AND TO DO IT IN YOUR HOUSE. You are truly talented and I’m looking forward to more!😎
@@R7w7c The set including the faux concrete walls, the faux coal bins, the Exit doors, was made by a professional prop/set company in Vegas. The lighting fixtures all purchased at retail sites, the lightning strobes/lightning generator , the 3 controllers used for the show come from Halloween/Escape room retailers. All the technical programming, the Elevator control panel reproduction and much of the other work was done by Donald Dean, a talented local escape room prop maker who shares a passion for the Twilight Zone. This project would not have been possible without him.
@@theultimatetowerofterrorre301 that’s awesome amazing work to all the people involved! You all created something really magical
It’s not
Nice
Wow!!!! This is incredible!!! Do you work in an imagineering/engineering/stage-magic field?? The expertise and skill on display here is astounding! Congrats!!
No I have no background in any of the skills required for the project. Fortunate to find professionals to help.
This is unreal. I would never leave the house. What kind of cold spark machines are those you're using to spit sparks out of the lights? What show control system are you using?
Currently the pyro technique used I am sworn to secrecy. The show currently use three BooBox Flexmax controllers, and also integrates a Control4 home automation system .
This is amazing but I can’t help but wonder if you have any videos of your actual home theater? I’d like to see that!
Here you go.
ua-cam.com/video/vZEC-jJfxUY/v-deo.html
@@theultimatetowerofterrorre301 Thank you. I never would have guessed the theater looked like that inside. Cool
Look just a big contrast from the ToT stuff. Did you consider theming the theater itself?
@@ZeonStar77 The theater was originally a totally empty bonus room and was remodeled into the theater. The patio outside the theater was made into a BBQ patio and is still has BBO equipment and counter hidden under the faux coal bins. The faux coal bins can be disassembled pretty easily if I wanted. To theme the theater at this point would require discarding/remodeling what exists and seemed a waste of money spent.
@@theultimatetowerofterrorre301So the Boiler Room (main show area) of all this is actually your patio? I thought the Patio was outside the Windows. All this is really amazing.
You should be hired as Chief imagineer 😂
Hmm I would be fired immediately for exceeding budget constraints....
Disney should hire you!
Only if I could work on the Tower of Terror and add new stuff 😂
I wonder if a museum would be interested in your deconstruction or reconstruction because as far as I've seen I love it
@@theultimatetowerofterrorre301 okay bro I’m literally being for real. I am absolutely obsessed with terror terror is my favourite thing in the world it’s so amazing and the ride just feels so real. I literally know almost everything about it and I wanna come visit you so bad.
@@sky0kast0 I considered selling my house recently with the Tower of Terror in it. I went so far as having a realtor come, and do a walk-through and give me his recommendations for pricing. I always thought a realtor would market it as the "Tower of Terror house." After contemplating it i decided i simply could not part with it.
TOT is one of the favorite places Disney employees love to work at because it’s one of the only places you don’t have to smile and are allowed to look pissed off at work lmao
Woah 😮
This immersive effect of lightning/thunder was a little TOO immersive as somehow the rain valve which is intended to turn on the rain bars and sprinklers which cover the outside patio while visitors are INSIDE started working prior to people going inside. It actually looked good on video, but I was getting soaked, and my water bill is already too high, so this premature rain effect was turned off.
@@theultimatetowerofterrorre301 aw man
The sparking overhead lights effect was what had me going "Woah!"
@leslietonn3181 yes started with just the exploding fuse box and now it happens in almost all the overhead cage lights.
Yes i have been experimenting with various pyro substrates and discovered stuff that unexpectedly worked quite well that can be purchased online. Until i get it perfected it will be my secret.
How dose this only have 20k views XD

Any plans for tours?
Maybe Halloween
Impressive…and creepy! Rode the Tower of Terror at DW for the first and only time Nov 2023. Like the extra TZ references. No cocoa thrown on floor? 😉 Is the telephone a reference to “Night Call” or “Long Distance Call”? So many great plots to draw from!
OK I probably should know what your" cocoa on the floor" refers to, but I dont, so please explain. The telephone call is just used in the show to tell visitors how to proceed and press the elevator button which triggers the remainder of the show. The telephone receiver rings on the elevator control box in the boiler room set which is a close reproduction of the actual box which sits on the wall next to the elevator entrance to the ride. When the Tower of Terror opened, the telephone did actually work and could be used to call other parts of the ride personnel, but the receiver was removed when the ride incorporated more automation.
@@theultimatetowerofterrorre301, it’s a reference to a fifth season Twilight Zones episode (8) in which a nasty man harangues his niece who cares for him for the inheritance. One of his demands is hot cocoa which he throws on the floor when it doesn’t suit him which happens a few times in the episode. I haven’t been to the Disney parks often so don’t know most details. Thanks for explaining.
@felicitousfeline9956 ok thanks for explaining; will have to watch that again.
This is honestly so good! "I was doing my recon when I heard a voice real sexy, like it was coming on to me." (Did she have backup singers?)--Ghost Ship
Looks like you improved a lot!Are you planning on doing more references to episodes ?
As a fan of the Twilight Zone I am always interested in adding more props/effects which are based on the Twilight zone although they will likely be much more subtle than the 7 ft tall Kanamit 😂
Hey, could you please explain how the pyrotechnics work? is it a firework? is it dangerous? How did you trigger it?
I am finalising a haunted house walkthrough and it would be awesome to get something like this.
Im sorry but the pyro technique was shared with me by a colleague and is not my invention and was asked not to share it publicly. I will say each cage light uses about 25% of the amount of firework substrate contained in a single common “childs”firework. Of course any firework is flammable. I did flammability tests on the Styrofoam-based material which makes up the faux concrete walls and coal in the bins. I also tested flammability tests on the bare styrofoam. I also ignited the pyro substrate directly on coated and bare styrofoam and there was no flame caused. The set has been treated with flame retardant, and there is a fire extinguisher located on the coal bin out of sight. The pyro is set off with either no people in the set or outside the range of sparks.
@@theultimatetowerofterrorre301 Hey, I am really eager to get pyro stuff, and I've been thinking about doing it for a long time. Could you maybe get me in contact with him? All spark effects I have seen are expensive and complicated, and this looks very promising. Thanks for reading this!
I was going to make a video about the technique and he asked me not to. He is possessive about his techniques.
@@theultimatetowerofterrorre301 could you maybe get me in contact with him? I understand if not.
As a Vegas local please let me be your friend 😅
Sure: I may open up the project this Halloween and will announce on the community tab of the channel.
@@theultimatetowerofterrorre301Please do. This is (was) my (and my wife’s) favorite Disney ride when I lived in California. Now that I’m in Vegas it would be amazing to be able to take her to experience something this special.

Great work on this. What would be the best way to contact you about some info I have?

@@theultimatetowerofterrorre301 I sent one, let me know if you receive it as I think I had an issue trying to send it earlier.
@Rodj12341 ok 👍
Very very cool, but could have been better. Trick elevators are available for haunted houses which could be used to simulate the actual ride portion of the attraction vs. just watching it projected on the doors. I suspect you are familiar with the companies that sell such items as it appears you have already purchased many of their other items.
Yes i am attempting to have an actual autonomous robotic elevator car which would look and function like a mini-version of the actual ride vehicle eventually. This would be a large investment in time, and money, and i am trying to find people with experience in motorized robotic vehicles to assist. The vehicle would carry 2-4 people, be able to navigate inside and perhaps outside the room, rotate to view the applicable action, and have motorized elevator doors (which open/close as needed to show occupants the action) side “windows” (flat screen TVs) to show the fall in the shaft, decked out with seat shakers and sound system, and have a 6” pneumatic drop/rumble mechanism and have reproduction TOT seats. I have spent many hours dreaming about this (in addition to an approximate 66% scale TOT library in my garage) and hoping to make this a reality. My HOA wont let me build a 198 foot drop tower unfortunately LOL.
"But could have been better"?
Dude, come on.
@@MikeYohe
It could have, it was still very good, but objectively a trick elevator would have made it better.
@@theultimatetowerofterrorre301
That would be incredibly awesome to see if you manage to pull it off! I hope to see an update :)
And kidding aside HOAs are horrible, sorry you have to deal with one.
