I've seen treble hooks used. Some with just the barbs clipped. And some also with the third hook cut off, like this one look. Not to say this isn't a fish hook conversion, but looking as close as I can in this vid, this looks purpose made. The ends, where the barbs would be, don't taper like a fish hook. And it isn't soldered/brazed up right to the eyelet. A fishing line could slip into the split in between the hook shaft. Doesn't really matter though. I've made one out of an old bicycle spoke for free and fun. Fish hook is cheap quick and easy.
