That tip of printing the lighter inks first it's like the best you can do I think, and using the same screen for multiple color printings will demand more "cleaning skills" definetly :D thnks for the vid buddy!
Thanks for the tips! just started as the solo screen printer in a busy graphics shop, and its been a few years since I did most of my previous experience. Will check out your channel for tips that can help me on efficiency!
Great videos, your always very helpful and informative. Thanks for your time and efforts. My white ink seems to crack when printing on black shirts. Do you have suggestions on preventing this?
hi jonathan thank you for your video which held me learning.I could like to start a business with printing can please tell me what kind of machine you use in your workshop? thank you in advances
How's it going? First of all, thanks for all of the great videos. They always help me out when I'm in a bind. Any suggestions on getting all the residue from the back of the screen? I keep getting slight white residue no matter how much I clean the back of my screen.
Hello there. Usually a dry paper towel or cotton rag will do the trick. Otherwise you may need a bit of solvent to clean it up. Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/
Thank you for this!! This issue just came up for the first time for me last week. I noticed that it looked like some of the emulsion was coming off on the rag. I'm using Franmar on press ink wash. Is the emulsion issue because I'm using too much solvent, or under-exposing the stencil? Can I expose for a second time after the stencil is burned to make sure the emulsion is completely cured? Thanks!!
You’re welcome. Yes if your screen is under exposed the emulsion may indeed come off on the rag. If the color happens when you clean the screen with solvents especially on the inkwell side then it may be so. If the color is the same as the emulsion that is a sign it’s under cured. If you’re using a photopolymer emulsion then you can post expose the emulsion to light without the film positive after the initial washout and drying. Thanks much for watching and dropping me a note. ☠
When I did screenprinting, I used to tape off a lot of the edge of the screen up onto the walls of the frame. When changing colors, i would scrape out the excess ink, pull off and throw out the tape and have a fresh area to retape and then clean the screen.
That's good. Everyone has their own preferences but whatever works well is a okay. Thanks for watching. Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - catspitscreenprintsupply.com/
Hey I use your videos a lot to learn more about screen printing and I actually ran into a snag I was hoping you could help with. We printed some football jerseys (ALLESON) and did not realize until a customer brought one back in that they were 100% nylon. We had done the same jerseys before and they were poly so we didn't even look. Because we thought they were poly we did not use Nylabond and just used our plastsol inks. My question in do you know of any way to save these jerseys? Thanks
Thank you very much. You’re welcome. It’s my pleasure. That sounds like it could be a curing problem. Make sure the ink is cured properly. Do a stretch test. The ink should stretch not crack when properly cured. Thanks much for watching and dropping me a note. ☠
Hi Jonathan. Can you tell me if it is possible to use the (screen opener 32) as retardant paint (water based ink)? ... Or what is the correct and appropriate use for this product. ===== And Thanks for all these videos are very useful.========
No, screen opener comes in a can. These were solvents for plastisol inks. You can use paint thinner if you have nothing better. Thanks for watching. Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - catspitscreenprintsupply.com/
You’re very welcome. No, I would not use it as a retarder for any ink. It’s a solvent. Not an ink additive. It is used to get stains and clogs out of the mesh on press. I have a video on screen opener. Thanks for watching & commenting! ☠
DavidASVP You’re very welcome. Glad I can help out through my videos. Thanks for watching. Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - catspitscreenprintsupply.com/
I would call an ink maker near you and ask them about what you are printing on. They will know what ink to use as well as a suggested mesh. I’m not sure what you mean by ink the whole sheet. You can print multiple items on a sheet and die cut it later if that is what you mean. Thanks for watching & commenting! ☠
Rags, paper towels or what have you. Anything absorbent, soft and disposable. Thanks for watching. Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - catspitscreenprintsupply.com/
