Hello, I'm from the United States and I've completed my bachelors degree in Biomedical Sciences (Pre-Med). In the USA, this degree allows for me to apply directly into a doctorate of Physical Therapy Program (Physiotherapy). However, I'm highly interested in going to school in Germany due to the low amount of money I'd have to spend to pursue a post graduate degree. I'm still confused on the process to receive my doctorate of physiotherapy in Germany. Do I need to obtain my masters degree in Physiotherapy first, then apply for my PhD in Physiotherapy in Germany? Or can I apply directly into a PhD of Physiotherapy due to the fact that I've completed my Bachelors Degree (Typical pathway to obtain Doctorate of Physical Therapy in the USA). The second question I have is, what are the names of these programs at German Schools. When I search "Masters of Physiotherapy" or "PhD of Physiotherapy" for German Schools I can't seem to find anything. Do I search for "Masters in Exercise Science" as you suggested in the video, or is this degree related to another field? Very similarly to you, I'm interested in pursuing Physiotherapy in both the Sports and Neuroscience concentrations. At the 5:00 minute mark of this video, you began talking about a program of Physiotherapy that includes both the Sports and Neuroscience concentrations. What is the exact name of the program that I should apply for in order to purse this type of degree in Germany. Is it "Masters in Exercise Science"? Or is it Something else?
Hi Taj, thanks for your feedback and query. Well, if you would like to pursue a PhD in Germany, you would first need to get a masters degree. The masters can be from any country (including the United States). For PhD, you can search for PhD in Exercise Science, sports science, cardiopulmonary science and so on. The name doesn't matter much as long as your supervisor is a physiotherapist or sports scientist. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other query.
Hi Thanks for your comment. I’ll soon make a video on that. In the meantime, if you might be interested, you can visit our Instagram page where I already uploaded an extensive live session elaborating the process and answering the question that you posted. Hope that helps.

It’s really good and that’s a good reason for being one of the best sports universities in Germany. City-wise it’s quite populated that typically means a lot of work opportunities. You get to learn and earn simultaneously in a culturally vibrant environment.

I was hoping you could help me. It seems there is a school for physiotherapy in Germany. In Canada, you need a bachelor's degree, followed by a masters degree in physiotherapy. My research indicates there is a 3 year physiotherapy program that would make you a physiotherapist, but is not the same as a degree, nor does it grant you one. There are over 250 physiotherapy schools where you can do this, but I cant seem to find any? My search only finds university degrees. I must be missing something
Yes there are both schools and universities in Germany that offer a physiotherapy program. I would suggest opting for universities because they provide you with a degree in Physiotherapy. However, that’s usually offered in German so you need to posses excellent German skills for the same.

Hello sir I have completed my BPT from India nd nowadays there are many agencies who provide direct job in Germany for physiotherapist !! Should we go for Masters or direct job after BPT ?! What’s your opinion bcoz I’m too confused
Though it totally depends on hour personal circumstances, I would recommend going for masters degree because that’d provide you leverage and also give you additional opportunities.

I have done my bachelors in Physiotherapy and Masters in Neuromuscular Physical therapy with good grades and have work experience of 2 years and as if now I am planning to move to germany, plz let me know the proper way to apply for a job there. What steps should I take? Do i need to clear language first? Need your guidance. Thanku in advance!
Hi Ayesha. I would suggest learning at least B2 level German as you have already fulfilled all the other prerequisites. Once done with language aspects, you can apply for credential evaluation and then physio license exam.
Sir I am doing BPT from govt college in Delhi. I am interested for Masters in cardiac Which is the best college or university in Germany and how can I get admission kindly make a video only on colleges and universities which have MPT
Yes sure. I would recommend to search the website of Charité university Berlin. Ranked in the top 50 countries in the world, it provides world class masters courses in cardio science. I’ll also upload a video on this topic within a week.
Yes, the last step would be to take an exam with the state health authority to get the PT license. It is very easy considering you fulfill all other requirements. 👍🏻
Yes definitely. You just need to get your credentials evaluated and take a basic test. You should have a good knowledge of German to communicate well with the clients.
You can apply via LinkedIn and then appear for online interview. Once you get selected, you can come to germany. I have already uploaded a video for the process on this channel. Hope that helps
I would suggest to work on your German language proficiency and then apply for a German Physiotherapy license. I’ll upload a video on the complete process to apply for a German PT license soon.
Hi Sonali. You need German language proficiency because Germany doesn’t have English bachelors in physiotherapy. Masters courses are available in English. Also, you need good grades in 12th and 10th class.
It’s a masters degree. The duration is 2 years minimum. Max can go upto 4 (depends on the student and the number of credits you take in each semester).
You can come to Germany for your PhD or else you can also come here directly for practicing as a physiotherapist after getting the licensing part sorted.

If you get a chance for internship then yes you are allowed to learn being in clinics. But for independent work as a physio, you need a physio license as explained in the video🙂

First of all thanks for the video. But as someone who has dealt with Germany and it's healthcare system, I need to confirm again. Are you sure that the average Physiotherapist salary in Germany is between Euro 3k-5k per month ( as claimed by you)? Because on every research, apparently the salary seems to be 2,500-2,700 Euros per month. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Peace.
Thanks for the comment. Well, that was not a claim as such but my personal experience with some people and what I got to know from them (because I’m not a physiotherapist but rather a physiotherapy researcher). Also, the salary scale can be different for different people. 🙂

Hello. Thanks for your query. You can apply for a job directly after your BPT program. Also, you will need German language skills to effectively communicate with patients and also for the license exam. Hope that helps.

It’s really good. Germany has a lot of clubs and stadiums where you can practice. Also, you can pursue research in sports sciences or sports physiotherapy.
Most of the medical courses for which BPT fulfills the selection criteria. Masters in sports management, masters in physiotherapy (all streams), Rehabilitation, sports sciences, etc.

Hello, i just wanted to ask that can I apply for masters in Germany right after completing my DPT? Or do i need to have clinical experience in my home country, from Pakistan. Your reply would be very helpful.
You can apply directly after completing your degree program.

It’s really good and that’s a good reason for being one of the best sports universities in Germany. City-wise it’s quite populated that typically means a lot of work opportunities. You get to learn and earn simultaneously in a culturally vibrant environment.
i got back in one subject in 3rd year as I was not able to attend that exam for some personal reasons....will it affect if I wanna get college in Germany for master's???
Hi Shikha, thanks for your query. It will not effect your masters application much as long as you get satisfactory marks in your bachelors degree overall. Hope that helps.
Sir I have completed my Bachelor's and Masters (Neurology) ,undergoing PH.d in India itself ,having 7 years of experience in academics and clinicals ....how can we register ourselves as PT professional in Germany??? Kindly guide
Hi Manika. I would suggest to opt for physiotherapy researcher roles rather than physiotherapy roles (considering your academic profile). That would bring you more monetary benefits along with a better recognition in the field. All the best.

These are available but are not generally called as MPT programs but rather as rehab science MSc programs.
bro thanks for the information,
I have heard physiotherapist get aid just 2k, and your claiming 3 to 5k
Dear Amin, I have seen people earning higher amounts (in case of employees around 5-6k) as well. And in case of clinic owners it can even go around 10-20k as well. Totally depends on the city, pay level, experience and the skills of the individual therapists.

Hello sir, is 2 year professional work experience required for DAAD scholarship? as I want to apply for MS in Germany after completing my DPT degree.
Yes it’s needed for scholarship.

Yes same happened with me also 😞
Yes there are both schools and universities in Germany that offer a physiotherapy program. I would suggest opting for universities because they provide you with a degree in Physiotherapy. However, that’s usually offered in German so you need to posses excellent German skills for the same.
@@physionitinarora Yes, my grasp of the German language is still in the A2 stage 🤣 the info on this PT program seems limited. The uni degree path is easy to find. What are these physio schools with a 3 year program called? Cant seem to find them. Thanks 🤗
