Disgusting. Back in 2015 a guy in Denver received a 160 yr sentence for a car chase. There was a baby in one of the cars he stole, but he didn't kill anyone. This creature should have gotten life in prison or a minimum of 50 years for this. What the heck else is this judge needing ? He should have his head examined or be removed from the bench. I did some research as to why this happens, but do not take it at face value, I am not an attorney. It depends on the state the crime was committed in, but if we are talking California then the sentences can vary wildly as they look at the individual's criminal record, level of intoxication, circumstances surrounding the crime and many more factors can come into play when prosecuting them. Like repeat offenders get a harsher sentence than a first time offender, obviously. I'm not saying this Karen got the appropriate sentence, but since there was no (substantial) evidence other than eye witnesses i assume, they couldn't charge her with aggravated assault. If they would have, she might have gotten out scot free due to a mistrial. This is cause eye witnesses are solely used to established facts, and not taken at face value anymore. Of course this is just speculation cause I haven't reviewed this case, but it is how I think it went down
