Thank You, Thank You. Got a camera on Amazon and saved me $500 to how much Honda Dealer wanted. My $38 camera works just as good as stock part and did not require trimming gasket like other videos suggest. I am wicked happy
Glad it helped!
Agreed!!
Have 2014 Accord. Screen blank with just the guide lines showing. Ordered new camera and needed tools and replaced it in 15 minutes. Excellent video. Was 100% accurate for the 2014 4 door accord
Glad the video helped. Cheers!
I also have a 2014 accord if i may ask where did you buy the rear camera? Thanks
@@BelindaMata-r7t I got it on Amazon. Many much cheaper but all had bad reviews. I got the Dorman 590-440. I also bought the tools to remove the clips , was apx $12 well worth it
I bought it on Amazon. Bought the more expensive camera after reading reviews of the cheaper cameras. Also bought the tools ($12) to remove the clips. Camera Dorman 590-440. Snaps right it
@@JimMeiklethank you! By any chance do you have the link of which one you got? Thanks!
Much appreciated man! I had settled on not having the camera but after watching this video I had it replaced in 10 minutes for less than $40.
Glad the video helped! Cheers!
Thank you Man!!!
Providing substitutions for the tools, the camera angles and the ratchet sizes made this job very simple!!
Big Respect!!
Glad it helped!
Awesome vid sir. I followed it today and the fix worked nicely. Saved a bundle by buying off Amazon rather than having a mechanic do it. Great job.
Glad it helped
Thanks! Great video. Perfect step-by-step instructions.
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent instructions! Just got mine done in about 45 minutes to an hour. Works great!
Glad it helped!
The nut on one of the 10mm bolts was broken for me, but aside from that small hiccup, this guide was straight to the point and super helpful for a quick job. Fixed the issue, too. Thanks!
Glad I could help.
how did you take them off, both my car nuts keeps roating and doesnt come off.
@@rakeshsinghprs bolt was stuck onto the nut from opposite side. Had to remove chrome trim in the video and hold down the nut with locking pliers to stabilize it while I loosened the bolt with a wrench
Thanks. Knowing what to remove ahead of time made this very easy and quick.
Glad it helped
Saved me! Thanks so much for the video, new camera in and working, took me 20 minutes! Thanks again!
You're welcome!
Thank you so much for this in depth video. Just replaced my dead rear back up camera with one from Amazon I got for about $30 on prime day. Saved me between $300-$500 per dealer and car shop installs. The camera is clearer than the factory one but only offers the main view and doesn’t switch between the 3 views the stock one had. I only used the main view anyway as the other 2 viewing angles were pretty useless. Thanks again for the great video!
What camera did you use? Can I just buy any aftermarket camera? Better quality would be worth losing the angles imo.
@@paulspurlock599 I used one I bought off of Amazon. Similar to the one linked in the video description if not the same one. Just make sure the year/make/model of your Honda matches up with the one you are buying.
Glad I could help. Cheers!
My camera went out tonight and I was so worried about having to get it fixed. But this has HONESTLY been the MOST easy to follow DIY video I’ve seen. You sir are genuinely so helpful. A thousand thank yous brother.
Glad it helped!
This was perfect and could not have been more spot on. Very impressed and very thankful I fixed the camera issue that I had no idea where to start for $35 you are appreciated.
Glad I could help. Thank you!
Super helpful video, thank you! This definitely saved me a ton of money.
For anyone like me that doesn’t have the trim tool, I was able to pop the trim off using my flathead. I laid the handle of my socket wrench under the shaft of the screwdriver to create some leverage and was able to pop it out. It did take more force than I was expecting but everything worked out fine.
Glad it helped!
Thank you for that tip!!!
Thank you so much. I could not have replaced my rear-view camera without this video.
Glad it helped.
Thanks so much for the detailed video. My partner just changed ours. Your video made it a breeze for him to change!
You're welcome!
GREAT instructional video! Took me less than 20 minutes to replace the defective OEM Honda camera on my 2016 Accord... Top man!
Thank you! Glad it helped.
Thank you! Took me 20 mins and a couple tools. Easy to follow instructions
You're welcome!
Life saver!! Everything from start to finish explained beautifully
Thank you for the support.
Much more informative than some of the other "professional" videos. You showed better views and gave better tips.
Thank You, Glad the video was helpful. Cheers!
We got quoted $1200 at Honda for the cam & labor. We found the camera for under $50 and we did it in 20 mins.
Yep, those dealer prices are outrageous. Glad I could help.
Hello again your video was so self explanatory and very detailed I replaced the car camera today you are awesome 👏 👏 thank you 👍
You are very welcome
Thank you very much for this video. Changed the camera in 10 minutes. Very easy to do with the right instructions. Much appreciated
Glad I could help. Cheers!
Thank you, did the job in less than an hour and for about $50.
Glad the video was helpful. Cheers!
Thanks for this ! Fixed my 2016 with 81,000 miles
Sure thing!
The cameras are an issue with these cars. I was told water intrusion eventually destroys them.
Yep could be possible.
I’ve driven my sport for 214k miles and mine just went dead. Please tell me how this is a manufacturer issue. Now let’s talk about the VSA module. That’s something you can tell me about regarding issues
Makes sense
My 2017 accord only has 33,000 miles on it and mine shit the bed already. That’s why I’m on here watching this. 😂
My 2014 camera just died 83k miles
Thank you so much for your video. This helped my husband replace my accord's camera. This saved us $$$. Thanks much!
Glad the video was helpful. Cheers!
Thanks! Your video was perfect.
Glad it helped!
thank you!!! took me more than 20 mins unlike the others, but i got it done 😭 (took longer cus i didn't know how to use the ratchet wrench)
Glad I could help.
This worked! thank you for saving us $800!
Glad I could help.
Thank you ❤ I loved it. Came in real handy. However I dropped one nut into the crevice...😂 need a magnet to pull it out.
😀 had the same issue. Thanks for your support. Cheers!
Thank you! Very clearly explained! Thanks to you, we were able to change the camera 👍 We are watching you from Ukraine.
Glad the video helped! Cheers from Virginia!
Unfortunately, while doing this I broke the white clips holding the trim as I forgot to poke them out before removing the trim as you showed in the video. Do you have any idea where I can find these and if they are necessary to replace or will it be fine without them since I have the two screws holding the trim?
Great video! Super helpful and saved a ton of money; if I had not made that mistake it would have been a very smooth process.
You can get the clips from the dealer, I think there are 2 different clip styles on the trim.
Thank you! It was perfectly easy to follow along.
Glad it helped!
Thanks for the awesome video. The install was really easy to follow and went perfectly.
Glad it helped
Thank you - very helpful! New camera up and looks as good as OEM.
Awesome! Glad the video was helpful. Cheers!
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video, Buddy. Easy. Took me 30 minutes. Works great!
Glad our video helped. Cheers!
The video was very helpful. The problem I'm having with my 2014 Accord LX is that my wire connector does not match the replacement part. The replacement looks the same as the one in your video, but the original is only 6 in-line pins and about half as thick as 4 over 4 pin replacement. Any ideas?
It appears they changed it after 2016-2017. Apologies for the incorrect years but the process should be similar for removal.
Very helpful video. And great camera/lighting work. Not easy to do when somebody's hand is in the way.
I agree.
Hey great video! Which camera that I can buy online do you recommend?
Any rear view camera on Amazon or eBay will be the same so it doesn’t matter. The Honda oem one will be the best but obviously not much cheaper.
Very clear and informative. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Life saver thank you so much for this video!! ♡
Glad it helped!
Great video! Saved me a lot of time and headache!!!
Glad it helped!
Those 10mm bolts for the trim just spin for me and won’t come out. Great times!
Sorry to hear that
Thank you so much broo tomorrow im goin to do it by myself!!
Nd yes I ma follow you... ✌️💪💪💪
Good luck!
So on our 2016 Accord the backup camera suddenly stopped working. Just black screen but can see the guide lines when in reverse. Could it just be a loose connection or is there any fuse in the fuse box need replaced or is the issue definitely the camera itself? Are the Cameras themselves the typical culprit when the backup camera goes black?
I would try to use a multimeter to see if you are getting power to the camera when you put the car in reverse, if you do then the camera has gone bad and a replacement would be needed. It’s common for water to get into the camera causing failures like this.
Great video! Very good detailed instructions!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you! Saved $400
Glad I could help!
Nice job!
Thank you!
@@MobileCarMechanic. Best instructional video I’ve ever seen on UA-cam. Thank you. I could find another place to comment.
Saved me 690 bucks vs. what the Honda dealer wanted. Now....the camera still doesn't work (the new one doesn't, meaning it's something besides the camera itself....I still get a black screen when I shift into reverse...but that being said, I'm only out 38 bucks for the camera. You at least helped me install it myself and eliminate the camera as the problem.
Glad our video helped, sorry to hear that it didn't work out. If you have a multi-meter i would probe the connector and see if you get any voltage when the car is in reverse, if so the camera may be defective, if no voltage then there is a wiring/power issue. could be the radio itself but doubt it.
I have the same problem...
I have the same problem the clip on my. Stock camera is broken I ordered 2 different cameras you need to look a the number on the camera and search for that… it’s like each year is very specific
GREAT. I just threw the old one away when I was cleaning out the trunk a week ago. :( Game over.

Straight forward vid. Thx!
Glad it was helpful!
Hi some of the seller reviews in amazon is bad, they are saying guidlines is poor or not, and only have 1 modes , what brand you recommend?
Unfortunately don’t have a recommendation as I’m pretty sure they are all made in China and vary in quality.
On ur accord, do u have a way to tighten the rear deck spoiler. Mine is a little loose. I have a riddle in the rear and not sure if that’s it.
It appears that it is held in with clips and adhesive.
Excellent video.
Thank you!
How do you calibrate the 3 camera modes for the back of your car?
the 10mm nut on both sides is stuck to the car and its not coming off. What is the best way to take them off if its keep rotating and coming off?
Maybe try sticking a pry tool in the trim and pulling back to create resistance on the stud to pull the nut off.
I tried installing camera on my 2015 Honda accord. It seems to be off with its guideline. Any thought how to fix these guidelines ?
Is the camera an aftermarket or Honda. If aftermarket you want to get it replaced as most cameras have lines programmed in the camera itself.
Hi great content.
Can you show how to change the 3rd break light please?
Yep will do! We will share the link as soon as possible. Thank you for the support.
Anybodys camera get all foggy whats the fix for this, replacing the whole camera?
I believe the coating on the lens is what fails causing the camera to look foggy and less clear. Not sure if there is a way to remove the coating to help with that but if not really your other option is to replace the camera.
How should I put the camera stable. Like I don’t want it to move right and left
It shouldn’t move left and right. Either a clip is broken or the part is defective.
Thank you so much ❤
Any time!
If the camera clip breaks badly use a self tapping screw to hold it on! Drill a hole etc.
Yep thanks for the suggestion
Thanks!
Welcome!
Thank you very much!!
No worries!
Is this the same on the accord coupe?
Its not the same, You have to remove the rear bumper to replace the camera. Even the camera is different.
@@MobileCarMechanic you can do it on a coupe by removing the license plate.
Mine went out this week less than 50,000 Miles Honda Dealership wanted $395.00 just for the camera itself!!!! 😮
They are really expensive. Have had to replace it yet as this was for demonstration purposes but they do sell cheaper replacements on Amazon.
