I'm heavily leaning towards getting a Dasaita since it seems to be the most reliable out of all of the android head units for the 9th generation accord. I've been looking for a unit that's completely plug and play that retains the functionality of all of the stock features without additional modifications, add-ons or replacements (keeping the function of the factory stock rear camera, steering wheel controls, lanewatch/right sided camera, imid/top screen) but most sellers on aliexpress haven't been straightforward about feature retention. Was your camera stock or an aftermarket installed before the video? Do you still have functionality with the right camera/lanewatch? (edit: I'm dumb. I didn't watch your video until the very end, my bad lol. Were you able to figure out a way to bring up the lanewatch camera at all after disabling the caution sign?) Sorry for the long winded comment, just trying to find the best unit with the least amount of problems before splurging lol.
I've also heard great things about Dasaita Head Units as well from other videos on UA-cam as they make different units for other makes and models. We have a generic android head unit in the Civic and its nothing like the Dasaita. We were concerned that not all factory functionality was going to be there but luckily we were wrong. Factory Camera, IMID, Steering Wheel Controls, USB Port, etc all work as usual. The Lane Watch camera option is enabled by default in the Head Unit itself which is why you will see a triangular exclamation mark which only comes on when a signal isn't detected, We disabled it since this Accord didn't have it. The Canbus decoder and TFT Driver (IMID) that came with the unit is what allowed the factory features to work with the Dasaita. The IMID is not going to be the factory Honda interface, Its software driven off the Dasaita itself and will duplicate some of the functionality, not all.
@@MobileCarMechanicwow, thank you for the response. Despite the cost, I think I'll splurge this time for an upgrade thanks to your confirmation. Is your unit the 4gb ram or 8gb ram versions? I'm thinking of the 8gb model, but if your unit works flawlessly without slowing down, then I'll consider the 4gb/64gb model to save on costs.
We received the 8GB model with all the bells and whistles for more future proofing as more RAM will allow you to run more programs, increases performance, and potentially will allow newer android updates if I had to guess as it's a tablet/computer that runs android with an application in addition that controls CarPlay and Android Auto. If you just care about the CarPlay/Android Auto then the 4GB is perfectly fine as it doesn't really need much to run. If you want to tinker and install android apps and modify the launcher/home screen separate from the CarPlay/Android Auto interface, then I'd consider the 8GB.

The steering wheel controls only allowed me to control the volume and skip songs. Most of controls are handled on the unit itself. The top screen just displays MPG, clock and fuel consumption. You can’t do much with top screen. Majority of the functionally is in the head unit.

Have you had any issues with the microphone? The microphone seems to be very quiet(my voice sounds super quiet in calls). The unit has one built-in and one that connects in the back. Is there some settings where I can switch between?
So I looked it up and there's a few options that I can do. Someone said that since this is an Android tablet, essentially, you can download an app to adjust the microphone settings for the built-in microphone. Someone else said to get the adapter and just buy a better microphone. What I ended up doing is putting the microphone by the airbag on the left hand side of the driver. It's much closer to your face and I don't sound like I'm "in a tunnel". Luckily, the microphone cord was very long. It's acceptable for now. This unit does have a bit of quirks but I'm working through them
Is there a way to have the lane watch and reverse camera only show up on the top display and the head unit stays functioning normally? That’s how it is in my stock 2017 accord, camera only shows on top screen. I don’t see the point of having the camera switch on both screens especially if you maps running. Lmk I’d rlly appreciate it

Hi, how can i get my right lane camera to work? When i received my unit, i got two different power cables and the tdt and canbus were not plugged together but separately. Any help will be appreciated.
I bought the ebay copy of the head unit and it didnt come with a TFT driver box...installed the radio and everything works fine as far as the head unit but i miss my steering wheel controls... may just buy the Dasaita wiring harness as they look identical
The TFT driver is for the top screen. Did you get a canbus decoder box with your radio? If not that would explain why you don’t have steering wheel controls.
Try disconnecting the battery in the car and reconnecting to see if that resets things, if not I would unplug all the wires to the radio and reconnect them in case any of them are loose. If that doesn't solve the issue you may need to reach out to Dasaita to have it troubleshoot or replace.
@MobileCarMechanic thank u for the reply. Another question. I noticed u plugged the USB in at the end to the stock port and you have the other USB plugs in the glove box. Might be a problem with the radio itself. Before the radio was changed the forward and previous track button stopped working. Now it works with the new radio. I would try disconnecting the battery and see if that resets the radio and possibly fix the issue.
Did anyone else notice bro didn't put the 2 8mm bolts back in the radio?? Their is no way that radio is completely held in with "clips"! Means anyone can snatch that new radio out of the dash very easy not to mention it's going to rattle while driving.
Like I mentioned in the video there are no threaded holes for screws. No rattles luckily. And yes it’s held in with the clips! Look at 11:16 with the original radio and compare it to 15:30 with the new radio. You will see the brackets with the threaded hole on the original and not the new radio. Even I was able to transfer the brackets the new radio does not have screw holes on the side to screw them in.
So I went with the dasaita unit and the install went smoothly. It looks good and functions perfectly. It has tons of options in and out of CarPlay. Thanks for the install video it helped immensely.
I just installed their 2016-2017 android 12 head unit on my 2016 accord touring with factory premium sound. Unfortunately I get zero sound when trying to play music. Any ideas? Similarly to yours, mine shows a caution sign and black screen. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I don’t have an answer for the lane watch camera, I think it may be canbus related, in some vehicles with amplifiers you may need to disconnect the battery and reconnect it. I believe there is also a harness made for vehicles with amplifiers. Not sure if you received that harness with your unit.

Which side of lane watch is not working?
Recycling center did you Take a selfie disconnect the battery as well
Not sure what you’re asking?
@@MobileCarMechanic so sorry. I didn't realize that's how it came out. I was asking if you disconnected the battery before doing the work.
We didn't disconnect the battery and it turned out fine!
Hi thanks for the video. How can we control the main screen without the physical buttons that you already removed ?
You can control the main screen by using the button above the volume increase button on the left side.
I’m having trouble getting my factory USB to work again, and my passenger side lane camera. Any ideas?
When plugging in the factory usb connector end into the adapter that goes into the radio you need to push it in hard. We had the same issue off camera. I don't have a lane watch camera so cant assist with that unfortunately.
In that case, how do you interact with the original screen that is still at the back? Other than the steering wheel controls, are there controls for it?
Only steering wheel controls. And even then it’s not the original interface. It’s simulated from the dasaita unit.
How can you add the Honda logo to this unit. Thanks
I posted a 6-month review of the head unit. I explain how to put the Honda Logo: ua-cam.com/video/CzRw9pU_1cM/v-deo.htmlsi=_vfC4ANLcVVJS7H7
Great video!
Do you have any issues on when plugging in your phone through the usb, it shows an error? It gets connected, but I have to click “Dismiss” every time.
Thank you. Unfortunately this model does not support wired CarPlay only wireless which could be why you are getting the error.
@@MobileCarMechanic that make sense!
I wonder if there is a way to get rid of the pop up error screen.
Where did you get the piece to retain the reverse camera?
We did not purchase that separately, it all came in the box.
Does this head unit support an external sound amplifier?
Yes it does!
Do you use the steering controls to use the imid/stop screen or is it through the new head unit? Also what can you do with the top screen?
The steering wheel controls only allowed me to control the volume and skip songs. Most of controls are handled on the unit itself. The top screen just displays MPG, clock and fuel consumption. You can’t do much with top screen. Majority of the functionally is in the head unit.
It’s a nice head unit I have it in my 2014 Honda accord sport but the glare from the sucks can berly see the screen even with brightness all the way up
Yes that can be annoying when it’s super sunny outside. Possibly an Anti glare screen protector could help.
Can I just purchase the full wiring harness? I've had an aftermarket stereo for over 2 years. I was never able to find the full harness system.

Does this work for the 2016 Honda accord touring model that already has an existing screen in the middle?
I believe they have a version that does work for the dual screen models. I’d recommend checking out their website at dasaita.com
This unit does have a bit of quirks but I'm working through them
I did have issues with the microphone but I wasn’t able to resolve it. Thank you for the sharing.
Will i be able to watch UA-cam and Netflix on this?
Yes you can, you will need to turn on your hotspot on your phone or have some sort of wifi connection.
Is there a way to have the lane watch and reverse camera only show up on the top display and the head unit stays functioning normally? That’s how it is in my stock 2017 accord, camera only shows on top screen. I don’t see the point of having the camera switch on both screens especially if you maps running. Lmk I’d rlly appreciate it
I don't know. On my car I didn't have a lane watch camera.
How do u program the steering wheel controls?
The steering wheel controls work automatically but if you want to change it you can do so through Setting>Factory Settings>Key Study
Is the camera working? And if it does does it display on the be or old screen
If you are referring to the rear view camera it does work and will display on both the old screen and new screen.
@@MobileCarMechanic what about the stereo? Do they work properly?
This will work exactly the same on a 2016 accord coupe LX-S? And no loss to functionality with steering wheel/imid screen?

I notice it said if you have a honda accord 2016 with dual head units it stops working after a while have found that to be true?
I’m trying to decide if I should get it and if it’s really gonna work I got a 2016 honda accord ex and wanna make sure the joint works correctly for damn near $700
The vehicle that it was installed in didn’t have the dual screens so it makes it difficult to answer this question. One subscriber naruhina508 has an ex-l and hasn’t had an issue based off a comment he made on our 6 month review of the unit.

Hi, how can i get my right lane camera to work? When i received my unit, i got two different power cables and the tdt and canbus were not plugged together but separately. Any help will be appreciated.
Unfortunately we do not have an answer as our vehicle does not have lane watch and it’s been difficult to find any solutions.
How do you navigate through the menu in your car? Like resetting the tire pressure sensors?
Tire pressure is reset without using the head unit. Pretty sure it’s a button you press and hold by the eco button

I installed the radio.. but why does the radio screen go blank sometimes? Any suggestions?
Try disconnecting the battery in the car and reconnecting to see if that resets things, if not I would unplug all the wires to the radio and reconnect them in case any of them are loose. If that doesn't solve the issue you may need to reach out to Dasaita to have it troubleshoot or replace.
Thank you so much
Did you say the unit comes with the pry tools ?
It does!
@MobileCarMechanic thank u for the reply. Another question. I noticed u plugged the USB in at the end to the stock port and you have the other USB plugs in the glove box. Are they all the same or so they function differently ?
Also is there screen mirroring or if plugged into a USB can u mirror a video/UA-cam to the new screen ?

Hi,
I have a Honda Accord Sport 2017 and when I plug my phone into my car into the USB port for Apple Carplay for some reason the screen freezes or just doesn't connect at all until I turn off the car. Do you know by chance what that problem could be? I would appreciate your help.

If you have the G12 like we do in this video it does not support wired CarPlay unfortunately which is probably why it’s been freezing.
@@MobileCarMechanic
But it freezes with the OEM Honda Accord Sport 2017 radio/stereo. Is that normal?

I don’t have an answer for the lane watch camera, I think it may be canbus related, in some vehicles with amplifiers you may need to disconnect the battery and reconnect it. I believe there is also a harness made for vehicles with amplifiers. Not sure if you received that harness with your unit.
