Yes lots of vertical space and we plan to take advantage of it. That’s one of our next projects to tackle. Adding cabinets to all of that open space. Great idea 💡

Hint...i would grab the armload, set it on the counter behind me, repeat several times, then go around to the other side and put them away. You are wearing yourself out by walking all around again and again with an armload! I am too lazy to make all those trips back and forth.
I could totally do that, the messy counters probably didn't allow me to think logically. But it's OK, I can use the steps, hehe! I don't have stairs anymore so I need the exercise.

I'm so glad you tossed the expired and other pantry food. Like you mentioned, the garage gets very hot and food stored in there goes bad quickly. Watching you organize all those spices made me laugh. We have salt and pepper...and that's about it. LOL We are ready for Christmas, tree is up, lights are hung. However, I can wait on the Christmas music for a while. LKMH

Hi Janet! Yesssss we love our spices. I've been sticking to what I like and trying not to buy anything new. My garage did feel lighter THEN it didn't, haha! I have a little less than half to clear but most of that I'll probably be decluttering and donating. I do plan on working on that soon, especially since it's cooled down quite a bit and I don't have to be hot and sweaty getting it all done. Thinking of you and your family, love you Janet.
That really sucks that all that food had to get dumped, but it being expired and stored in your hot garage, it is what it is! Glad you got that last bit of kitchen stuff unpacked!

Remember if its been packed up for a year you dont have to keep it because you have already gone with out it for so long. Your doing amazing job keeping your home organized. Hello Lisa! Thank you for understanding my food situation, I didn't feel good about dumping it but I also don't want my family to get sick off of any of it. Good idea, I need a garden =) I used to grow herbs in AZ but I haven't found the time to do so here in Texas. Hopefully this spring I'll be able to do that. I really hated leaving my plants behind but my hubby didn't want to risk bringing scorpions back with us.

None of that food should be eaten after being in a garage for a year!!
Majority was thrown out and it was mainly supplements 👍🏼
We are a spice family as well. Ron loves to buy new seasoning every month so we got a collection. You really did have a lot of containers.
