About Me: Hello! My name is Erika, I am a wife and stay at home mom. I created my channel to keep busy while I learned to navigate life as a SAHM and to give myself accountability to get things done around my home.
We recently moved from Arizona to Texas and downsized (2800 sq ft to 1200 sq ft). I've documented our downsizing journey from the beginning starting with decluttering and getting rid of over 50% of our belongings. I'm not an expert, I am just sharing our journey, along with my thoughts and struggles I encounter in the process. Now that we are in our new space I will be sharing with you how we get settled and organized into a much smaller home while maintaining a sense of minimalism. Being minimal is the only way our new home will work for us. I hope you decide to stick around!

Erika, so good to see you. Wow, I didn't know you still had so much to go through. I'm at a loss for words this time. Please don't bring any more into the house. If you haven’t used it in the last 6 months, let it go. It saddened me to see food go in the trash. God bless you and keep you. Don't get overwhelmed well cleaning out the garage . 🤗🦋🤗
Hi Lisa! Remnants of my old life. Very hard for me to have to relive all of this as well. I literally had to stop editing my video for about two days because even watching it back was hard for me. BUT I promise you will see that everything will be back in order when this series is all said and done. Sadly I have to go through all the motions to get to my final destination! 😃
@@SheWolfMom oh Erika I know how hard it has been on. Ive been there from the 1st box you packed and ill be here after the last box is unpacked. Im routing for you all the way. You got this, take as many brakes as you need to, take it one day at a time. Your amazing you can do this, baby steps. Im decluttering myself its hard to let go. Enjoy decluttering your boxes, just think of the freedom you'll have gained when its done. I've been de-cluttering for a few years & its amazing how much I'm willing to let go this year that i couldn't last year. Each time I feel lighter. Find your happy place.😊

Moving is definitely such a huge mental task! It takes so much energy, let alone moving from one state to another. I’m glad you’re doing much better and tackling what’s left of your moving boxes. You have a garage with a good amount of space, sounds like you a good plan in place. Great job amiga ❤️

Hi Erica, can I be brutally honest with you, I see all this stuff getting unboxed and I’m worried that it’s going to send you in a spiral, be really honest with yourself, do you want to even bring it into the house , your already running out of space 😞 The shoes for example you should really reevaluate what you have already keep only half, and not store them away but donate or sell stuff please ❤️😉👍🏼🇨🇦
Thanks for your honesty! No I don’t plan on bringing much into the house. Like I said, this is entire garage is a piece of my old life that I desperately want closed. Sadly I have to go through the motions of opening up all the boxes to figure out what I need and what I don’t. You’ll continue to see my journey as I finish unpacking!
Hi Hi! I just had my husband organize the garage last weekend. We don’t have much things in boxes besides the ones in the room with random documents and old pictures. Lol.

Hi Janet. Are you talking about my vintage coffee pot? I bought that in AZ at goodwill to make tea. Now I"m going to use it to melt wax, I want to make candles. I have not looked through my "mom" boxes just yet but I'm hoping to find what I'm looking for. I've been taking the wrong earrings to get inspected at the jewelry store, hehe! No one noticed until NOW. I must find the right ones, which is why I'm happy to look through my stuff soon. Have a great weekend.

@@0JReynolds lol 😂 yes I have it. I knew that I was never going to find something like that in stores. You must go thrift shopping in AZ. People give away amazing things. Especially in the area I was in, it was more of a retirement community.

If u haven’t used these things for over 9 mos it’s prob safe to say u should donate most of it. Not only is ur home & storage less now but it’s truly unnecessary to have that much in excess. U may want to try some no buy mos? Seems like u spent so much on inventory/clothing before this most recent move…I hope u can get to a point that’s more manageable & peaceful 🙏🏻🙏🏻 maybe u can donate the kids books to a local children’s hosp or a school in need?
I’m opening the boxes to look for items I absolutely must keep, for example, photo albums, jewelry like I mentioned. I’m sure you saw how much I purged in AZ and this is the last of what I need to purge. I now have a different picture of the life I want to live, I have a better grip on many things but this isn’t not something I can just skip over and not do. I have to go through the motions to finally close that door and move fwd. I’ll chat more about this in my next video 😁 thanks for watching!
