I even forgot about this flight I took. I was the pilot, Marvel was the captain and the Metralha brothers were the flight engineers. A short flight, we left the Seychelles islands and landed on 5th Avenue in New York (at night) so as not to arouse suspicion. Great flight.

Plane stays in perfect constant view yet gets smaller and the camera angle never has to adjust. The geometry doesn't quite pan out. Stellar attempt though.

      Chocked, I think.
Note: in fiction, an interceptor aircraft accomplishes something similar to a “zero length takeoff” using staggered chocks such that the aircraft is pointed up at a 10+ degree angle as “full afterburner” is achieved.
It climbs the rear chocks first, then as the rear wheel suspension compresses, the front wheel is climbing the slope and the engines get into 105% reheat - four times the weight of the aircraft. The result is a missile-like launch, with the wheels coming up almost immediately as it climbs out at a steep angle.
Time to altitude is well under a minute.

My parents got to fly on the Concorde - once on British Airways, once on Air France. They met Suzanne Somers, Ray Charles & were kept away from Jackie Kennedy Onassis by her security.
I know the Concorde needed an extra-long runway, & the nose was down during takeoff & landing. Also, AF & BA were the only 2 major carriers to fly them; I don’t think any others - charter or otherwise - ever had them painted in any other scheme.

Braniff operated Concord between Dallas and Washington DC for a while. The route was flown by Braniff aircrews and due to noise regulations they could only fly subsonic. They were never painted in Braniff livery as the same aircraft would be flown between Washington DC and Europe by BA or AF crews.

Cute video. I flew the Concorde once, on August 22, 1987 from Amsterdam during a pleasure flight of two hours. Seat 5 on the left. Twice the speed of sound, Mach 2,2. When we returned we also made two fly pasts on the Lelystad Air Show. You can see this on UA-cam ! I can still see myself and my parents fly! The plane was the Air France F-BVFB. Now on display at a German air museum!

You don't need nose droop at that latitude and elevation above sea level. The water vapor from the ocean and the runway height are at the same level causing enough prismatic refraction so the pilots can see beneath the aircraft. It is such a strong refraction that if you noticed you'd see a mirror on the glare shield so they can see up , which is hopefully the direction of flight. Light waves can be funny that way. Also, for very short runways the planes lighten their load by either not taking on chem trail fluid or off loading it if already on board. They also wait until they have a strong tailwind so as to push the plane to take off speed faster.

You should get out more, Some prop driven planes can back up on a level surface. Military C-130’s frequently back up out of their revetments or hard stands that they parked nose in. B-727’s and Dc-‘s/ MD-80 or 90’ can back up using thrust reversers. There are probably more I can’t think of. But the Concord cannot ..

Great 👍 but the real Concord can't do that, because even though it's really powerful, it's also a passenger plane. It's really heavy, so it wouldn't be able to produce enough lift in that short of distance with a Delta wing. It would have to reach well over 200 miles per hour. It's made to fly really fast so it creates less lift at lower speeds.

It needed so much runway running to take off. I definitely would not want to be the captain or a passenger on that plane. And backing up like that. I wouldn’t back up my car with no room to spare. And to back up a plane. Yeah right. If it was possible and the pilot miscalculated, with no one guiding him backwards. Who’s responsible for the plane going in the water. I can’t fathom the pilots union,or the ceo of the airline allowing that to happen.

With such a short distance, the concord can take off. m You've got to be joking or think we're stupid.

If you look behind the plane before the plane begins the takeoff roll, you will see from the breaking waves that the wind direction is with the takeoff direction. The plane should take off into the wind from the other end of the runway

Make a combination Concorde which can Landon short runways & flies like a harrier ✈️,think about the best way to make it.

This looks an Azores island airport, one of most difficult and dangerous in the world, from the extreme shortness of airstrip.
