Cape Town is such a beautiful city. I've only been there once - already 20 years ago. In the words of Jules...that looked like one tasty burger. Glad you had a lekker time.
Love it, thank you, first reaction was "Jules, huh?" then I got the reference, second reaction, was 😂😂😂 and "may I have some of your tasty beverage to wash down that burger"
Great Video Phil. I am south african living in the UK, and love seeing your content, so it's a 2 for 1 special. My advice is to take the citysightseeing red open top bus tours. They take you around the city, and being a hop-on-hop-off service you can explore the various attractions around the city. If you book a 2 day ticket, you get a complimentary boat ride. You can get the bus tours at the V&A waterfront near the two oceans aquarium (which is also a great place to see). Seeing as you have a car, I highly recommend doing the Chapmans Peak scenic drive as its gorgeous.
I saw pics of Cape Town once. LOL it was male Lions coming in walking through snow in the city! LOL. I checked that one off my bucket list straight away. LOL. Is it safe though?
Lions in the snow, that would be awesome, but it was 25 degrees with clear sky most days. I've found it to be mostly safe in the areas that I've been in. I'm down at the V&A Waterfront and I can walk around that area anytime of the day or night, no bother, the downtown CBD can be dicey after dark, phone theft, muggings, low level stuff like that, but that could happen in London, New York and lots of places if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. I've rented a car, and this is very helpful, I would almost say essential for a Cape Town holiday.
@@thepatriotsrage661 Nice. Very warm invite. Maybe they took the Safari bus in. LOL or it was labeled wrong. I'm in Florida and only have bobcats and Panthers to look out for. I'll come down when I'm rich! Blesses.
@@mandysimmons2769 You're welcome to stay at me in Jhb, I have a spare room and bathroom all to yourself/partner. Florida is beautiful, I've just come back from St.Augustine last month and want to settle there. Where in Florida are you? Oh and no wildlife in the cities, so you are safe. Even outside of the cities you'd have to go to a game park to see Lions, Leopards, Elephants. They're all in protected reserves. You'll be perfectly safe here, just don't go into dodgy areas.
I did some research before I left the UK, Cape Town is relatively safe, I'm down at the V&A Waterfront and I can walk around that area anytime of the day or night, no bother. Over a long foot bridge is downtown or the CBD, and I've been advised not to go there after dark. It's like a lot of places, if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time you could be in trouble, especially if there is a lot of poverty and desperation, but it is a wonderful city and I would recommend a holiday here. I've rented a car, and this is very helpful, I would almost say essential for a Cape Town holiday.

@@markwillies7666 No that's cool, I genuinely wanted to know. Personally I count those kinds of markets as street food, I guess it's based on the lack of kitchen. The Time Out market on the V&A is also described as a street food market, but it's more of a food court with permanent premises and kitchens.

I bought my ticket online because I was concerned about the busses being full so unfortunately I don't know.
Taking your life in your hands visiting South Africa.

Wrong. Clearly you've never been to CT or South Africa. Don't believe the BS you see on the news.
Some very tasty food there but to call it street is a big fat stretch
Thanks for your comment, I am interested in what would qualify as street food for you? Would it have to be a cart by the side of the street?
