I thought I was so cool in highschool back in 2005 because I was the only one that had this 4 song EP cd. Still to this day, I have not seen another one
Not a bad cover. AFI is my favorite band and I love me some Cure. Davey and Robert have similarities in voice, but also some differences that makes me like this.
Really is a case of which you heard first. People who say this is shit have nostalgia context and aren't really open to it. Havok's voice works really well for the song, yet, anyone not familiar with their BSITS works aren't really going to appreciate the stellar guitar and drum updates found here compared to the slower, slightly ploddy and moody The Cure version.
+Demetrius Mitchell Apparently people are idiots and don't pay much attention let alone care. If they don't like it, then just move on. I don't see why people have to be so uptight about everything. I LOVE The Cure and AFI and, while it isn't amazing, this cover isn't as bad as some covers I've heard of other songs.
I'm a fairly obsessive fan of The Cure and like this cover, although it's not quite as ominous as the original I feel it's still a strong cover but I do feel the drumming isn't quite as good as Lol Tolhurst's.
I like this cover a lot, but honestly it doesn't touch the original;. They changed the bassline up a bit, which is ok, they were doing their own thing, but to me the bassline is what made the original version so distinct and beautiful. The atmosphere is REALLY good though, and the vocals... Well it's Davey Havok so really it's hard for it to be bad. I don't like how in the chorus they put the guitars at the front, the bass should be the most prominent in this song, in my opinion. Pretty good.
yes, their new single Caught is quite good ... I still love the era that started with this EP and finished with Sing the Sorrow, but they've been going strong with more of an alt-rock vibe and I still dig some of their songs here and there
Can't believe Funhaus sent me here lol, love both versions of this song.
love this cover!! AFI is so special
I love it. Big fan of both bands.
1:34 is everything

True that
I disagree. I grew up listening to AFI and heard this version first. Years later, getting into The Cure I realized the original is much better.
It's the bass and drumming of this version that does it for me, honestly. Gives it a whole other layer of intensity.
you are awesome for uploading this
Nice,
I wonder if people know this is a cover. They are not supposed to mimic everything the original song had.

No One Idk. I think AFI's version is pretty badass. I also really like The Cure's version as well.
There are a ton of covers that’s are faithful to the originals and there are tons that do stuff drastically different. Both ways are fine
After 13 years of loving this song, now just realized this was a cover loL
Exactly. It's not Davey singing karaoke.
Funhaus sent me here
Gee thanks Egoraptor!
Great!

Lol Tolhurst as helped by a drum machine. he wasn't good enough to produce all that on his own
THANKYOU!

What's the deal with the vocals being so low in the mix?
