Ashoka Rock Edict at Kalsi || Uttarakhand || Historical Place in Uttarakhand || India

Famous Mauryan Emperor, Ashoka’s inscriptions as rock edicts is present in Kalsi. It’s importance rises as it is the only Ashoka’s Rock edict located in North India. The language used in these edicts is Pali.
A small village in the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand, Kalsi is known as the gateway to the Jaunsar-Bawar tribal region of the Dehradun District. It is located between Dehradun and Chakrata hill station along the banks of the river Yamuna and is the confluence of the rivers, Yamuna and Tons.
