I knew we threw in the Taurus g2c at the end of the video.. but that gun is amazing I bought it just because of the price point it has more features than most of those guns that he mentioned holds more rounds than most of those guns that he mentioned comfortable in the hand small enough to conceal large enough to shoot comfortably at the range.. I have 1700 rounds through mine without a single malfunction just picked one up for the wife and she has 500 rounds through that one not a single malfunction.. it has become my everyday carry.. replacing my glock 19

    • @kogasoldier9379

Picked one up about a month ago and I got about 250 rounds through it zero malfunctions. Upon takedown their internals look no different than a glock.

I love my PPS M2 LE. It's extremely accurate and comfortable to carry. I can shoot it extremely well for a concealed carry weapon getting 3 to 6 inch groups at 25 yards. It's thin and conceals easily and And weighs about 21 ounces unloaded.

So does the shield, and it's 8 round magazine is a quarter of an inch shorter. Hell, the length of the grip with a PPS M2 with an 8 round magazine, is almost a 1/2 inch longer than the Glock 19. At that point why bother. The Taurus PT111 G2 with its 12-round magazine, is almost the same thickness, is shorter in the grip, and is lighter than the PPS M2 with 8 round mag. The lc9s with its 9 round magazine, is the same height as the PPS M2 with the eight rounder, and it's thinner, shorter, and 4 oz is lighter.

    Love my Walther PPS M2.
I chose this gun over the S & W Shield for a number of reasons.
Walther has a very easy slide, very easy to disassemble & reassemble for cleaning. Put over a 1000 rounds thru mine with no misfires.
    Smooth shooter ....

I would really like to get the Shield in 45 ACP. I have the Taurus PT111 G 2 and I'm very happy with it. The trigger is really nice if you shoot off the reset. It's cheep too!! I bought it before all the rebates came out. But I still think I got a great value for my money. I paid under $275.00 out the door with tax. Very nice and cancelable package. Not too heavy or fat/wide but it holds 12 rounds + 1 in the pipe.

Agree, good improvements over the original, very light weight, easy to carry in your pocket or IWB. But it is not fun to shoot, as the light weight results in nasty recoil. Plus the mags are pricey. I have most of the guns mentioned but when wearing shorts & T-shirts the LCPII is my go to.

Thanks for your review of inexpensive concealed carry handguns. But you mention all NAME brand firearms. Four years ago I got my conceal carry permit and at the time most of the guns you mentioned were pretty expensive. I guess they have come down in price. But wanted to mention my carry handgun. The SCCY, ten round double stack mag. You get two and base plates and grips that can be changed, a decent warranty . The only thing that may put someone off is the long trigger pull, and can be ordered with or without a safety, but the price has dropped by about one Hundred dollars since I got mine. Works well and have had few if any issues.

Taurus g2c if you find them $199 or g3c is $279 ruger ec9 $229. Sccy cpx2 $199. All good guns under even $300 any of these guns that I have listed you can then get ammo and a holster out the door for 400 or less so they are all good guns I have owned all of them I own a CZ 75 a 1911 I own a sky ionis ec9 right now the G3 see the g2c and about five other handguns between my wife and I and I carry my g2c everyday still my dad bought it for me for birthday gift a few years back so it's been special for me since never had an issue with it so there's a lot of Great Guns nowadays under 300 even when I was younger 25 plus years ago for under 200 you were going with either military surplus gun or a Hi-Point or Jennings and that was basically all you could find or like a EAA when they first started bringing Guns Over You could get those cheap the EAA windicator 357 they used to be like 179 then SAR b6p would like to 29 so but used to really under 300 there was like two P95 and a couple other nice guns but other than that you had to spend four or more but past 10 years there's been a lot of guns that that's why I like skimming is Cobra and high point is not even needed anymore and you could probably get a used g2c or sky for 160 or less

Another great gun in my opinion I'm actually carrying now instead of my shield is a SCCY CPX-2. Brand New you can get it for as little as $235.00. It's company is out of good ole Florida U.S.A. and let me tell you the best customer service hands down it has a lifetime warranty for whoever has the gun. Anything messes up on it they will replace. if they can't fix it they will send you a new one. it comes with two 10round clips plus 2 finger extensions plus a safety lock for the trigger. has a slew of add-ons and holsters you can buy for it. it's almost as thin as the shield even being a double stack. I've put at least 450-500 rounds through it with out any trouble and the easiest disassemble for cleaning I've ever done with a gun. i believe they stole one of Smith and Wesson's top designer's. One of the editors from I believe guns and ammo has a good video here on called "killing the SCCY". I trust it with my life.

I personally carry the LC9S.. however, not the pro..I don't mind the thumb safety, but the mag disconnect is a little over kill. I have never accidently released a magazine but it could be a problem if you actually where in a situation where you don't need a situation.

Nice list. I would put up the Kahr CW9 as an honorable mention. I carry mine 24/7 and trust it. Carries very nice, same size as the shield, and shoots great. I am looking at getting an M&P9c for a higher round count. Thanks.

I like the Walther PPS M2, but I'm not sure how it beats out the M&P Shield, or the LC9 S Pro in terms of likeliness to carry, and comfort. The PPS M2 is considerably larger in almost every dimension then the lc9s pro, and it's 1/3 of a pound heavier. I don't see how an extra 1/3 of a pound in your waistband makes it more likely to carry, or more comfortable. Same thing with the M&P Shield half an inch shorter in length, a quarter of an inch shorter and grip length, when comparing the same magazine capacity, and almost 1/4 of a pound lighter. If the LC9 S Pro, and the M&P Shield got a 9 for comfort and likeliness to carry, then the PPS M2 should have gotten an 8.

I have a 9mm shield and have Hornady Critical Defense as my personal defense ammo, well last time Hornady American Gunner was on sale, so I picked up a box to try out. It is 115 GR +p 9mm ammo, but the Shield is not rated for plus p. I didn't notice that it was plus p and just bought it. Am I safe to shoot the ammo through my Shield or should I just gift it?

Do you have any of the barrel peening issues on your PPS M2 like others have? I have had my heart set on making it my first gun purchase for a few months now, but the issue has me concerned and I've also looked at the glock 43 because of it. Any insight would be appreciated.

A surprisingly sensible list, I'd say. Kinda leans onto M&P - I'd say an FNC would do better in the #4 slot -- but nonethless there's little to complain about.

True... I was just hoping you include some LGS deals. I bought my Shield for $436 last year. Also! I should have not said "surprisingly". But what often happens, reviewers often bring their personal hobby horses to the table, possibly without realizing. So, I see some very strange recommendations, like Seecamp.

My tiny doctor daughter carries a Smith in .40 S&W which she took to Front Sight and fired 500 rounds through in their amazing week of training. Too much talk about small calibers these days; they have much diminished stopping power. The .40 is easier to control than a .45 and has probably the best stopping power of all handguns. If a five foot one hundred ten pound girl can conquer a .40, you probably can. No point in carrying something that will not kill.
