(For newer players) I’m surprised you didn’t mention that you can play Wiggle Room twice on the same attack.
So if the villain attacks you for 6, you can:
    - play Wiggle Room, draw a card.
    - Exhaust Ms. Marvel, bring it back to your hand.
    - Play Wiggle Room again, and draw another card.
So you stopped 6 damage, and are up 1 card now. It is one of, if not the, best defense cards in the whole game.

the problems with ms marvel (to me) are that she feels very weak without her upgrades, half of her kit wants to be in alter ego despite having no way to safely flip down (confuse, threat prevention, etc) and even with her upgrades she still struggles with burst since they can only be used once per round
(i'm still a bit traumatized by the time i had to spend my whole hand and take 4 damage to kill the sleeper)

She is still, years later, one of my favorites, maybe even my favorite. I think she also benefits more regularly from new cards than any other hero, so she just never gets old. So many shenanigans you can pull off with her using events that might be completely useless for other heroes.

very scenario specific, but I LOVE her in single player justice vs red Skull expert mode with multitasking, clear the area, turn the tide, Followed, and concussive blow for her flip downs

I agree she is held back by being a little too flippy without a convenient way to flip back-and-forth.
She just isn’t that good because of her constant need to flip back and forth to alter ego in order to maximize her alter ego only abilities. Scenarios with heavy scheming and threat production make that very inefficient.
Now, this is perfectly fine for people who play one handed at the easiest difficulty. But when you start cranking up the difficulty she is a much better utility player in two-handed or more, especially in justice. Shrink is a fantastic ability with cards like Multitasking as it will boost each instance.
I would never consider her top-tier, but she is darn fun to play.

I'm glad you mentioned the conclusion I came to, that Ms. Marvel seems combo-heavy with her reliance on playing Events in sequence. While it's not exactly a playstyle I find very interesting, I do appreciate that she forever adds a wrinkle to the discussion of every applicable Event printed of "what does this do when it's played twice with Ms. Marvel?". I always like a hero that leaves a legacy like that.
Minor tangent, but FFG posted a weekly challenge this week that really got me thinking about the game from a different angle; beat any scenario with any team, but no one on the team can flip to Hero mode, so you have to win entirely in Alter-Ego. They suggested a few packs to try the challenge with who have relevant Alter-Ego abilities, but what do you think? How many heroes do you think can win a game entirely in Alter-Ego, and what sort of considerations do you need for that challenge? A lot of heroes have a lot of Hero Ability cards in their decks which will be rendered dead draws.

Could you use Nakia at the end of one turn and the beginning of the next turn to get a 2 discount on the next card played?

No, because you reduce the cost “this phase”. Once the player phase is over, the villain phase begins. Once the villain phase ends, the round ends and the next round begins with the player phase
