Codes:
Blood Code( aka ABACABB)
Enter a,b,a,c,a,b,b during the " Code" screen (the one with the title "The word code has many different diffinitons") When you get it the text turns red and Scorpion says "Get Over Here!" also the tile will turn red. You now have blood in the game with the arcade finishers.
DULLARD menu( Test menu)
Durring the main screen "the one with mortal kombat on it and the fighter portats on it" input down,up,left,left,a,right,down, when done correctly a "Cheat enabled" option will apear bellow options here are the decriptions
Fighter one/two: Change fighter pictures on left and right of screen
Plan order: Changes between four battle plans
Chop-Chop: Selects what material to break first in test your might
1p Chop: sets how often TYM is played in single player(6x is every six rounds 1x is every round 0x is never)
2p Chop; sets how often TYM is played in 2 player
Demo: Dislplays highlighted feature
Flag 0: Player 2 is allways Danger
Flag 1: player one is allways Danger
Flag 2: Allways shadows on pit
Flag 3: Changes Pit shadows
Flag 4: Reptile hints after every match
Flag 5: unlimtited continues
Flag 6: CPU will allways fatality
Flag 7: Background allways Courtyard
Blood: Turns abacabb on and off
Cheat: Turns Cheat menu on and off(turning off will undo DULLARD when you leave and turn all flags off)
1st Background: Slects he background to played first.
Fight Reptile: First you must be on the stage "The Pit", then there must be shadows flying over the moon(IE Satna, Kite, Witch etc) next\ you must Preform a double Flawless victory without blocking and preform a fatality(Not sure if character with block in there fatality can do it on this version) if done correctly you will fight Reptile who is a green Colored Scorpion with all of Sub Zero and Scorpions moves.
@bwm5150 The code is a reference to the Album Abacab, by Genesis, seeing as this is the Genesis version of MK 1, the code to turn the blood on is ABACABB, it's a reference to the album.

Reptile was hidden UNPLAYABLE fighter in MK 1, he became a playable fighter in MK II
#1 this game is not coming out, it CAME OUT like 20 years ago. You can probably pick up a sega and mortal kombat for about $50 all together. #2 the reason some of you have no clue what he is talking about is that the codes he is entering are entered on the controller. I am surprised and disappointed that some people did not know this.

The only thing I can think of is if you were playing the Sega CD version, as that was uncensored by default(Interestingly enough if you use the DULLARD cheat on the CD version you can re-censor it), the Eruo version are censored by default too.

I remember playing this game in megadrive and didn't need the blood code. Blood and bloody fatalities where default. It's because it was an eurpoean version or something? or maybe an illegal cartridge?

you can fight against reptile in mk1. It is one of the secrets on the game.
Is it possible to unlock reptile,goro or any other characters that are not on the main roster but are in the game ???
No,It ins't possible to unlock Goro,Reptile And Shang Tsung...Sadly.. ;-;
In Super SNES version you can get Goro and Reptile.

If u double perfect on the pit and endurance match you will fight a glass Sonya or kano etc in the pit as well as reptile

i tryd to get the blood code but when i put in the code it does not work :(
they should have made a Goro code in this game but sadly..they didn't.someone should do a hack where bosses and reptile are playable
There was a game genie code to do it. Buggy but still something fun to tinker with

Not really, you just have to be on the Main Menu and enter Down,Up,Left,Left,A,Right,Down
I think you have to have some speed but it’s not like Sonic 3 or anything
If you’re on a emulator make sure your pressing the button assigned to the consoles “A” button

What the cheat for playing on goro?
There is no code for goro,although on the game boy port,if you beat every one ,you could play as goro

M Vidal there isn’t one. There are some Game Genie/Action Replay codes that can force them as your selected characters but they were never intended to be used by the player so you can’t do any special moves or morphs because they have no inputs assigned to them. They also tend to crash the game a lot so it’s really not worth trying to play as them.

The Sega version of MK1 and MK2 was complete ASS!! The music was TRASH, the Graphics were TRASH, the sound effects were TRASH, the framerate was TRASH... hardly no voices at all... remember people MK1 was made on 1992 Hardware... the Genesis was 1988 Hardware and SNES was 1990 Hardware...
Enjoy the horrific input delay and muffled sounds of the shitty SNES versions. The SNES games are so fucking blurry it’s like the screen is smeared in Vaseline
The genesis felt accurate to the arcade in its gameplay. SNES MK2 is better, but the blurry resolution and somewhat choppy animations bothered me compared to the SG smoother player stances. SG you can see the quilt pattern in the ninjas uniforms and certain moves for example. BARAKA was my favorite MK2 fighter and when you perform his blade chop it s pretty much as the arcade fast and the only sfx that remotely resembled arcade other than Scorpions Come Here. SG was lacking many animations but nothing like MK1. Missing background layers and npc s (1background MIA as well).All the color is zapped and the sfx lacking any satifaction like in arcade. UH UH UH UH and heh heh heh for Male and Female fighters and woo woo woo for Lui Kang. No Ooooh s or AYYYAAHHH s, or Wooahhahhoa s. Raiden s Electricity fxs are laughable and grating. Sub Zero s freeze sounds like a stomach lining diarea shit when you eat food that was spoiled..Not to mention never i mean never actually freezing ai unless a jump timed into it or a block to a low punch from cpu followed by a freeze may connect. Most are blocked and then enemy will grab and toss you. Also Scorpions Spear is almost useless but will hit if you do the old flip back to get CpU to link to your spell usually for a round house. Spear is most effective there. I hated this. As i didnt have many friends to visit and play MK2 the AI and missing so much of that goofy charm of mk sound production. In this game in particular really crushed me. I still enjoyed it for what it was and IMO SEGA got the MK3 title for what the SNES did much better right here. They may have been compressed and condensed.The portraits on Vs and Pl bio and endings may have been smaller next to arcade. The sound track although accurate to arcade was not as good as MK 1 on SNES and the SG had a frenetic Synthy vibe that i grew to appreciate more than even the arcade score in retrospect. Choppy animations and pixelled resolutions ,coupled with just slightly less polish as SEGA is still loads better than the terrible lag and projectile cancel stuff. The color and fullness of all graphic detail and as much of the most important Sounds. Important as to the limitations of these ports. You transfer over the most key aspects of the Coin op s presentation. Sound ,visuals ,content and gameplay to get that feeling felt playing those machines. It was rare but it was close for these choices by developers. Alien 3 on SG is a classic that still holds up for me even today. I just have to say that ARENA and Probe were very lazy or compromised in developing these games on Sega . Sculptered did the best work and even proved you can make the genesis have those things to translate the arcade feel on MK3 despite a severely dated Console. SNES MK 2 Is this rare port that learned from it s mistakes before and crafted such a great fighter on par with capcom s STREET FIGHTER 2 TURBOs fabulous conversion also for SNES was great to experiance. Strange how fans can make all these amazing updates and program their own versions today. Granted the day and age is not to be glazed over. If the tech and time as well as passion to right wrongs that effected our lives when you saved for whole summer looking at those gamepro magazines ,listening to Closer from NIN on MTV waiting for the delivery from Funco s order page. To get such a let down. For my experiance anyway. If only i had that passion and worked with computters at all. I wouldve done a whole lot. This essentially is a brutal trauma assault upon English and the arts. If you feel what im sayin ..Then ya feel me.. If not , you are probably correct..Thanks for reading this far.
