This song is awesomely heavy and odd... it's weird to hear him sing but it's like this deep, agonized voice I didn't expect. I love this stuff. Both EP's were cool. But it's great that Simon rejoined the CURE because he is as fundamental to the Cure sound as Robert is!
Why doesnt he sing more often? I have noticed in live concerts he doesnt even sing along in the background, he has a great voice and in keeping the Cures sound
@@ClassicTVMan1981X Did John Entwiistle sing? Im guessing you thought he was good to put him in such company. Simons voice doesnt need to sound like anyone else's just his own. He is not going to compete with Robert but I have often thought it strange, that none whatsoever of all the roundup of the Cure past and present, mouth the words as they are playing, wouldnt that just be second nature? Not to assist with vocal backing just to themselves like people do when listening to a song they know?
@@thunder_heads Yes he is shy you can see that in rare interviews, but dancing and moving around he is quite a scene stealer isnt he, zapping all over the stage.
According to "Ten Imaginary Years" book, during Pornography tour Simon was hanging out more with rodies than The Cure, rodies were bad influencing Simon that he was greater than Robert Smith and telling him he should be the leader of the band, after the fight in the bar Simon left the band to form his own carrier in music. He came back to The Cure in 1985.
The roadie's name was Gary Biddles. He died in 2013. Rip..He sounded amazing in Fools Dance's album. He got a great voice.. And I don't think it was all roadies' faults anyway, Pornography era was already serious and it's like going to thin ice. Nothing left but bitterness and cracks between them. I wonder how Simon would have felt all through the time before the day he back. Lol and Robert would have been in hard times, I mean at least somehow. Breaking up is not that easy. And then after breakup, it's the Robert asked him to come back first. What a story..
Great song and really: I like the vocals. Why is Simon not singing in the Cure? I think it's the bands tradition. Reeves is also a good singer. And by the way: If you play the guitar or the bass on such a high level you might be happy if you needn't sing.
I find your comment interesting, and it's true, I'm agree with you. But, sometimes, it's a shame that musicians don't sing in their group. And, like you said, you don't need it sometimes, so...
I don't even know why Reeves is inThe Cure, to be perfectly honest. He's a great guitarist, and I love his Tin Machine work, but to me, he looks kinda'... out of place. Like he's merely "furniture" where Porl should be (I refuse to call him "Pearl."). I am overjoyed to see Perry back in the band. That bloke is a multitalented sunsabitch, and no mistake! 😀
@@ianfuller5332great to hear from a reliable source, I wish he would sing more though. His deep voice surprised me. Plus I’ve been a little in love with him for decades 😂
Honestly, I don't think it's Simon singing. I've heard him speak in interviews and saw him "sing" during a backstage snippet of The Cure getting ready to go on stage, and he sounds nothing like this. This dude who's singing doesn't sing all that well either. Sorry, just my opinion! I'm a huge Cure fan and loved them since I was a little girl.
Let's keep Simon Gallup in our prayers, please!, thanks, everyone need prayers to our health, personal problems, etc.
We are lucky we got him back..

I expect his singing voice to be high, but rather it's very deep..Love Simon!
I love his deep husky vocals and superbly atmospheric bassline in this...💋
Hey, I've always loved Simon, but really did appreciate all the photos that accompany the video !!
Never really expected his voice to sound so.. deep yet calming!!!
Simon gallup, immortal

he said hes way too shy to sing for the cure which is heartbreaking because their voices would compliment eachother perfectly
Probably because his voice is not like Paul McCartney's, John Entwistle's or Sting's.

What a gorgeous voice…
Love this track, 'Fools Dance' was a great side band from 'The Cure'. Appreciate pic slideshow too
This is genius - cannot stop listening to it
Wooaaoo no sabia de esto de simón galup me dejo sorprendido.
At least we know now why he's only ever sang on one song!!! 😫😫😫
His son Eden's voice (Violet Vendetta/Serpent Ride) sounds very similar.
❤🎤🎶🎸
Yes very bad Voice
Same thing with Julian Lennon's voice -- it sounds like his father John Lennon's voice.
Simon forever🖤
soy ENRIQUE...que hermoso tema....que bien suena el saxo...

Very soecial voice! Why you didn't continues singing? I think others, has your voice influences. Nice i like.

This is orgasmic! Love you Simon
With the recent news - maybe it's time to revive Fool's Dance, mr. Gallup?
What recent news???
@@pandabear1341 At the time, Gallup had left The Cure, but now he's back again with them.
Gossip.........ísn't Cúre unless there is a lot of b.s..................
Simple splits, in Cure...,...AGAIzN!!!!!zzzzzzzzzzzz,......wake me up............

Sounds like the Talk Talk guy
RIP Mark Hollis!

Is it really Simon who is singing?
Yes
I Like this but I can´t believe that´s him...?
Would it help you to have your total heart broke?
Been there, had that. Didn't help, but it didn't kill me. 🙂
When was this recorded?
1987
Simon Gallup did not sing in Fool's Dance. This is not him singing, it's Ian Fuller.
Simon said it was him in an interview I don’t remember where I saw it but I remember him saying he sung this ands hates it
Ha, ha, please can we put this to bed once and for all. It’s my old mate Simon singing. Far better voice than mine...Forza, Cry... long time ago
@@ianfuller5332great to hear from a reliable source, I wish he would sing more though. His deep voice surprised me. Plus I’ve been a little in love with him for decades 😂
I love Simon, he's sexy and talented, but let Robert do the singing ❤
There is room for them both to do vocals.
@@tommyapocalypse6096 totally agree!!

esa voz no es de Simon Gallup
Prefer this to Robert's screeching
Sounds a bit Cave-esque
Only bass. Please. Thank you.
That's not really him singing
I don’t think he sang this, I think it’s biddles
He’s so terrible!
