Slumberjack Roadhouse Tarp Review - Best Budget Awning?

- Could this be the best all-around budget option for an overland awning? The Slumberjack Roadhouse Tarp is an amazing option for a vehicle-mounted awning. It doesn’t have to ride on your vehicle all the time like a traditional awning. It’s cheaper and bigger than a Moonscape awning. Have you ever tried out a Roadhouse Tarp? What do you think?

Definitely adding that tarp system to my gear. I like the Devos light ranger idea. The directional light options it has would be great for adding light exactly where you need it.
I agree the quality surprised me, it’s so much better than I expected. For a cheap setup, it gives you a ton of different setup options, quality stuff, and packs down pretty decently small. Might be my favorite purchase in awhile.
It really is a cool overlooked piece of gear
Have to say after camping next to it at RITO23 I really liked how much coverage you had. Especially with all the rain. Our crappy 10x10 pop up just didn't clearly cut it and the fact that it sloped down all 4 sides meant water was dripping into the tailgate while we were cooking (which was her biggest complaint that weekend). I do like my little side awning for a fairly quick shade/shelter and have used it a few times even outside of camping. But I'd love to have this kind of set up for a multi day event.
One thing you didn't mention was tear down time. How is the take down process? I've been finding myself wanting a faster camp pack up.
Tear down is slightly quicker than setting up, so probably just under 5 minutes.
