Not sure why Mojang says this “limits creativity”, it adds so many possibilities which increase the amount of creativity you can put in your builds
Ikr, how does it even make sense? Features like vertical slabs and putting 2 different slabs in one block space would obviously expand creativity to new heights. The amount of things you could do with just those 2 simple features is nearly endless.

To me that doesnt seem like the real reason, and it also cant be laziness because its too easy to add. No, it has to be hubris. They declare theyre right and thats that. All we can do is hope when new people take their place that theyre a little less terrible.

Also, we can’t forget all the bullshit in the aquatic update. That was officially the day Mojang basically turned into PETA and acted as if their game represented real life.

i believe Mojang doesn't actually work on the marketplace but someone else does and Mojang just approves of it. if you're on java edition I'm guessing there are mods for this and yes i do understand this is pretty petty so don't get the wrong idea lol. also, I'm not completely sure so don't think this is true as it could be false.
@lightning jade javier the warden dimension in the minecraft marketplace is cool but it feels too modded for vanilla minecraft and there would have to be tons and tons of balancing and tweaking. Secondly the update was so big they had to split it into 4 parts. Doesn't that make you think that they have enough on their hands already if what they did add had to be spread out across updates?
@@samirpernell2136 while yes the dimension looked a bit like it was modded i meant just make it look a vanila new dimension on mc, and there you go also we were expecting a trailer months later after that villager short video came out for like a 1.20, that would add a new dimension.

The only reason I've always wanted vertical slabs is so I can make thinner walls that look better with my doors

You could also make bookshelves that take up half a block of space rather than a full block. ATM, it's either in the walls, or popped out, there's no good looking 50% option

The only problem I have with the marketplace is the fact that most addons such as this will only work with the creators world, like I world personally love to have the ability to use vertical slabs in any world and not just the same one yk:(

@@SN00FF-- if ur device runs android, then pojav launcher may work for you, otherwise, if you have a laptop, that works too, just dont expect to use shaders, cuz shaders need a gpu, while MC works soly of the cpu
You're able to copy the addon from the creator's world and put it into the default addons directory, though it only works on pc because you have to edit the files

@@GrushV2 Unfortunately you can't do this on Consoles which is ridiculous, that unfortunately is exactly why I haven't interacted much with the market place. I'd gladly purchase and support the community if the incompetent developers gave me the justification to do so, absolutely no good reason why we shouldn't be able to.

Seeing what blocks and mechanics Mojang did in Prima Aprilis this year (there're always things from vanilia later) as their community test, the mechanic of cheese block looking like endstone, I am sure to think they have vertical slabs and stairs on their minds right now.

we need that so much in vanilla...I remember learning how to play minecraft and after learning how to make slabs I naturally tried to craft vertical slabs....I felt so constrained back then and still feel the same today...
now we need terracotta, concrete, and wool slabs, stairs, and walls

There should be a crafting table called a slabmaker, which is like a stonecutter but instead you select which 2x2 chunks in a block get deleted, and it should work for all blocks with a slab/stair variation + possibly more.

This would help so much the nearest I think we go are walls but vertical slabs and stairs will not only help builders but improve maps like hypixel mojang needs to add this.

Java: We use Framed BLOCKS for it, and it able to make every full block being slab, stair, trapdoor, etc
This is why I don’t like the Minecraft market place you have to pay for mods while on Java you pay once and get access to mods, maps, texture packs, music, and custom skins while you have to pay for it on bedrock
Honestly instead of just adding vertical slabs and stairs they should add an item to rotate blocks along the cardinal directions. Even if the range of motion is only 90 degrees, it would not only give us vertical slabs and stairs, but other things such as horizontal walls/fences (if we ever needed them), and access to orientations of every block in the game

@@marianosanchez4265 yes, they are lazy shit, I miss when Notch runs Mojang, even though he was accused of being a racist that didn't take away the fact that he was a competent worker compared to Agnes, literally everything they added after 1.12 are ideas stolen from notch! even cave and cliffs and the nether update.
Honestly Mojang is just riding on Minecraft's success. As long as people keep making excuses for them nothing will change. Unfortunately this seems to be a trend in gaming. Games like cyberpunk 2077 get away with scamming millions of people, but since they released a decent anime all is forgiven. Honestly it's hilarious how many people defend Mojang. They own one of the worlds largest games every made and yet people act like they're still an indie company. Mojang is owned by Microsoft yet they still haven't optimized their garbage code for a game that came out a decade ago. Instead what do they do? Try to replace Java with Bedrock (a buggier version of the game) and spam microtransactions to try and get as much money from their child demographic as possible.
Then they have the audacity to talk about "realism" as an excuse for not adding features like fireflies and sharks. Yet they have villagers which are still poorly fleshed out and you have to kidnap them put them on a boat and take them where you want them to live. And if you don't want to have to look for a specific villager, you lock them up in a small room. Hmm Mojang kinda sounds like slavery to me but hey it's just a block game right? So it doesn't matter. But wait! Muh sharks and fireflies are dangerous and "unrealistic". You can't have it both ways Mojang.
The truth is that Mojang has gotten lazy. Why put in the effort when you can just half-ass it and make the same amount of money. It's really a shame to see how far Minecraft and so many other games have fallen.

Tbh I think jeb was the one that messed up, he tries to copy notch whilst having dumb rules like "poisonous potatos won't have a function because yes". Most of the updates Jeb has made are kinda bad imo, like the adventure update which completley ruined minecraft's world gen.
