I'm freaking out, as a marine biology student I just kept smiling the more you added. Nudibranchs (sea slugs) are my favorites, I was like "he's not gonna add them," and then YOU DID!! Brilliant work, I love the detail

Aquatic update was one of my favorites mainly because it added so much life in Ocean Remember when there was just squids wandering aimlessly in a seemingly empty ocean? Times changed

This mod is literally amazing and has had me in tears for at least 43 minutes. As a marine biology nerd the amount of attention to detail in this mod is absolutely *astounding*, and the uses you've come up with for each mob are so true to life for each creature and it's beautiful. I feel the only thing I would add to make this better would be our lord and savior the ocean sunfish, and I've seen a couple people suggest adding it to the mod, however if you do, there's two things you should consider. For one, the ocean sunfish, despite being very useful to pelagic ecosystems, has a reputation for seeming useless at first glance. I figure it would be in character for the ocean sunfish to be one of the most useless mobs in this mod as a result, coming up to the surface of the water to sun themselves and seeming very lazy overall. The second thing I'd like to point out is that there is a famous video on the internet of a Boston fisherman spotting a sunfish in the wild and calling it a myriad of things, such as a "baby whale". Given that you're prone to implementing silly ideas, do with that as you will. If you don't plan on adding the ocean sunfish because the freshwater sunfish is already in the game, that's completely valid! I'd be curious to see what you do with this mod in the future if you ever decide to revisit it, which I greatly hope you do, because this is the only way I'm going to be able to play Minecraft from now on :7
As a marine biology student, I absolutely adore this!!!!! I was always disappointed that we get nautilus shells but not the actual animal. Super well done, I also love the less well-known features like the sargassum and the nudibranchs!!! My favorite is probably the pelican though, super creative and cute :)
Im so head over heels for this mod. I think one little dude id love to see as a rare hostile mod is the Mantis Shirmp! My absolute favorite thing is the mixing of the parent fish and also the fact that almost every single one is breedable. It seriously shows the love and dedication and its absolutely stunning!

I like everything in this mod ... except for the starfish. Them breeding instantly when eating adjacent clams and muscles runs the risk of just filling the ocean floor with them over time. Especially since nothing eats them in the mod currently. Other than that, you absolutely nailed the dynamic systems in Minecraft.

4:33 that’s a bonnet head shark, one of a few shark species that don’t go after fish. Great white attacks are from a confused shark thinking a diver is a dolphin and a guy on a surfboard is a seal.
Actually, nowadays, it's been figured out that sharks are smart enough to know the difference, those bites are out of curiosity, since sharks only have usable nerves in their mouths
You should add barracudas. they typically hang around coastal areas, but it would be best to NOT have diamond, gold, or iron tools and/or armor visible as barracudas associate shiny materials with their usual prey. Same thing with enchanted armor. They will attack you, but they will try and eat whatever shiny armor/tool you have visible, taking off a decent chunk of durability, and if it’s armor, half a heart of the players health.
An idea for an advancement: Placing a barracuda named “John” near another player’s bed in multiplayer gives you the achievement “prank em John” If a barracuda steals one of your items, it’ll give you the achievement “MINE MINE MINE”

add some ideas plz: 1:make that when you shear dongfish you get the nutte.(the thing dripping bellow it) 2:add various jellyfish types. and they sting. 3:make that you can put worms on fishing rods to make them more effective. 4:add rays. 5:add octopus. 6:make that you can break and eat urchin. 7:shrimp and lobster. 8:add nearly-spherical-but-still-minecraft-shaped living sponge(there is a chance to spawn the deep sea version of some ocean mobs.(also, naming one spongebob can get you an advancement, and secret texture.)) 9:microscope.
One of the best mods I've ever seen. It doesn't completely fill the game with useless and complicated things but it remains genuine and very beautiful. A tip: it would be cool to add moray eels and eels. Great mod!

I'm not a huge marine biology nerd, but I find this mod insanely interesting and fun. I believe Minecraft should put this modification entirely as a side-update for the 1.21 Update.
Idea:make the nautilus more like the sniffer, like the sniffer you could use nautilus shells as blocks under water until they hatch. Also add the celocanth
I’d really love to see a ‘fish tank’ item that works like a pane of glass but when placed together joins. It would be nice to see fish acting normal in a fish tank instead of floating at the top
About the bubble-eyed goldfish. The reason they exist is because of selective breeding. Also there is liquid under their eyes, and they can pop. It's recommended you keep them in a rounded tank with no sharp decorations, or just don't keep them at all.

This is awesome! For some ideas if you ever revisit this, I have a few: -coconut trees with coconuts that can be broken and eaten for their flesh, or used on a bucket to give milk - coconut crabs that spawn near coconut trees, and can climb trees to eat coconuts which they can also be bred with. Although usually passive, they’ll attack anything that they’ve seen get hurt and inflict massive damage (as a coconut crab’s pincer closing is equal to that of a lions bite in force) to kill it, taking from their irl opportunistic habits. - tube worm blocks that spawn round geothermal vents (ie underwater magma cubes) - seabirds, with textures from different seabirds depending on their spawn, like puffins and gannets in Rocky coasts, boobies and tropicbirds in coral reefs and sandy beaches and seagulls everywhere. - PENGUINS!!!!
also jellyfish with specie variations, rays and their other relatives (sting rays, manta rays, etc), octopus with color switching feature and new types of squid (also why not new corals and algae design variations)
@@yaboibuggles8188 once you get a pc and minecraft (if you do) then just be warned all the stuff you are used to will be gone, axes will do more damage and have a 1.6 sec cooldown, and all weapons have cooldown.
I love mods like these so much. All of the new mobs are perfectly suited for minecraft's style, the mechanics are new and interesting while not being overly complex and deep. I could see this entire mod just dropped into minecraft without any changes. give us 1.20.1 plz

I love how you coded a genuine complete update with game mechanics, textures, advancements etc. The trading mechanic for example would be so nice to see in vanilla

Maybe when a crab spawns in the deep ocean, it will be a Japanese spider crab instead of a normal crab. Starfish could also act more like mobs, moving around slowly and breeding. On top of the normal starfish variants, there could be a crown of thorns variant that eats coral instead of clams and oysters.

They don't go that fast. You can see he accelerated the tick speed of the game for the sake of showcasing them

1:make that when you shear dongfish you get the nutte.(the thing dripping bellow it)
2:add various jellyfish types. and they sting.
3:make that you can put worms on fishing rods to make them more effective.
4:add rays.
5:add octopus.
6:make that you can break and eat urchin.
7:shrimp and lobster.
8:add nearly-spherical-but-still-minecraft-shaped living sponge(there is a chance to spawn the deep sea version of some ocean mobs.(also, naming one spongebob can get you an advancement, and secret texture.))

One of the best mods I've ever seen. It doesn't completely fill the game with useless and complicated things but it remains genuine and very beautiful. A tip: it would be cool to add moray eels and eels.

Completely great, perfect & well-made modifications on the Minecraft Trails & Tales updates. I sincerely admire your hard-work and aware on biology to make this mod and I appreciate this video. I'm not a huge marine biology nerd, but I find this mod insanely interesting and fun. I believe Minecraft should put this modification entirely as a side-update for the 1.21 Update.
Idea:make the nautilus more like the sniffer, like the sniffer you could use nautilus shells as blocks under water until they hatch. Also add the celocanth
I’d really love to see a ‘fish tank’ item that works like a pane of glass but when placed together joins. It would be nice to see fish acting normal in a fish tank instead of floating at the top
About the bubble-eyed goldfish. The reason they exist is because of selective breeding. Also there is liquid under their eyes, and they can pop. It's recommended you keep them in a rounded tank with no sharp decorations, or just don't keep them at all.
That papyrus was pretty GREAT. You could say the mod would just be BONE DRY without it.

This is awesome! For some ideas if you ever revisit this, I have a few:
-coconut trees with coconuts that can be broken and eaten for their flesh, or used on a bucket to give milk
- coconut crabs that spawn near coconut trees, and can climb trees to eat coconuts which they can also be bred with. Although usually passive, they’ll attack anything that they’ve seen get hurt and inflict massive damage (as a coconut crab’s pincer closing is equal to that of a lions bite in force) to kill it, taking from their irl opportunistic habits.
- tube worm blocks that spawn round geothermal vents (ie underwater magma cubes)
- seabirds, with textures from different seabirds depending on their spawn, like puffins and gannets in Rocky coasts, boobies and tropicbirds in coral reefs and sandy beaches and seagulls everywhere.
- PENGUINS!!!!

I love mods like these so much. All of the new mobs are perfectly suited for minecraft's style, the mechanics are new and interesting while not being overly complex and deep. I could see this entire mod just dropped into minecraft without any changes. give us 1.20.1 plz

Oysters and clams should be more like turtle eggs in the sense that you can add individual ones into a pile
You should make more of the fish edible. You can also make seaside villages that will trade you emeralds depending on what kind of fish you’re giving them they can give more or less emeralds certain things like sea urchins are considered a delicacy.
