I have been urging reactors to react to this particular piece for the last few years. No one listening. Thank you for doing this. If this performance doesn't touch your soul, what will? Appreciate this man and the band!
@@ericclapton3118 I surely won't stop! If you're the one in the same Eric Clapton, I thank you for your gift of your music....a blessing to the world. Of course there would be much more I'd like to say if you were the one and the same. If not, we share a love and appreciation of Eric and music!
I was there !!!! 🤙🤙🤙🤙. And this is why blues licks brings tears to your eyes . One thing about Clapton on stage , he isn't stingy . He lets everyone play . If this is your first time listening to Clapton , you have a real long road ahead of you. He was in " Cream , Derek and the dominos , blind faith , John Mayal and the blues breakers , Bonnie & Delaney . And even played with Peter Tosh.
I never like to get into 'who's the best' arguments...but Eric is the most versatile and enduring of them all...others have burned brightly for a while but Eric has taken the blues to more places...he's my #1...especially when vocals are factored in...
You can't pull off those blues faces without having experienced real blues in your own life and Eric has had his fair share of the blues. The man is a musical God on stage and a great man off it :)
Clapton is one of the most influential guitarists of all time (but many people will dog him). From the yardbirds, John Mayall's bluesbreakers, Cream, Derek and the Dominos, Blind Faith and solo work there is a TON to digest. Sure...he has his misses as would anyone who had been at this for 50 plus years, but there is some STELLAR work there...dive in man. enjoy
I saw him less than 2 months ago. He is still a savant player He stands as perhaps the greatest blues guitarist to ever live. He was magical when he was in his 20 and if it is even possible is the best version of himself as a Guitar Player. He doesn't sing as much which at his age is understandable he will be 80 in very short years.
All of the solos and little licks and fills from Eric - always improvised every time. Playing what he feels in the moment. Pure genius and he's the reason I picked up a guitar and learned how to play 35 years ago..... Also unlike other stars, there is no ego on stage..... Just a group of equals playing the best they can with each member of the band given their chance to shine. If you listen to more of Eric in the future - always go for the live version if possible!
Amazing Eric Clapton performances, oh boy..."Crossroads" with Cream, "Bell Bottom Blues" with Derek and the Dominos, "Further On Up The Road" from The Last Waltz concert film, "Tears In Heaven" from MTV Unplugged are four massively famous ones, all for good reason. I'd never seen this performance before, it is amazing, props to whoever recommended it and to you for reacting and sharing with us!
Back in the day the term for such music was "solid gold". Its still a viable term for timeless performances that just keep on giving decade after decade! Great reaction!
I have seen Eric at the Royal Albert Hall 9 times and I can honestly say he has always brought me to tears and I’ve sat there, moth open, trying to soak it all up, he is, quite literally an amazing performer
The nickname Slowhand doesn't mean he plays slow. He got that when he was in the Yardbirds, and he was constantly breaking strings on stage and had to change them in front of the audience. The audience would start a slow hand clap and thus the name.
@Joe Smith lol! I think they had, to my ear, a similar approach to the guitar along with Dave Mason. Like the chord progression and sound while shredding. Just a thought. ✌🤘 Ps. Sorry about your nuts
Notice u could hear a pin drop in there? I saw him on his Blues Tour. 3 1/2 hours of Church just like this. He’s my hero. The Blues rule. This one of favorite songs/performances of his.
The version of "Old Love" from his Unplugged album blows this version away IMO . Chuck Leavals piano solo in that version will blow your mind . Eric is also stellar on Acoustic guitar in that one too . In the 60's Clapton was lauded with graffiti all over London that said "Clapton Is God "
He wrote the song with Robert Cray for Eric's album Journeyman in 1989, this is my favorite version of the song, and oh yeah Mary J. is at this concert and does Not Goin' Cry with Eric and his band and her back up singers and it is bad to the bone
If you hear what comes on the radio, you'd never know just how good he is. I've never heard him play on ANY studio album with half the fire and heart you hear in his live shows. Being in front of an audience just does something to him that being in a studio doesn't. All his live stuff, whether it's big live albums like "24 Night" or small-venue recordings like the ones that went into "Unplugged" and "From the Cradle," blow his studio stuff (even otherwise decent albums like Journeyman and Pilgrim) out of the water.
Clapton remains to this day the ONLY guitarist to be inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame THREE separate times. Once as a member of the Yardbirds, once as a member of Cream and, finally, as a solo artist.
Check out Derek and The Domino’s and Cream and there’s one more band he was in and I always forget it….he’s a Legend!! I think you got about 5 decades worth of work to check out!! I’m gonna enjoy this rabbit hole!!
Can you even imagine what it would be like to have the wild privilege to be on stage and play with him? One of his VERY best songs that for whatever reason hasn't gotten the credit that is due is a live version of A River of Tears..
This comment is more for the Clapton fans than for HazeBruv. There's a rare video of Eric playing Don't Think Twice at Madison Square gardens On the Bob Dylan 30th anniversary concert. Look for the Daily Motion site or Music Memories have also posted it recently. One of his best guitar solos, but the videos of it keep getting removed. Not often you see a stage full of world class musicians giving an artist a standing ovation.
Eric Clapton is the only artist that has been inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame 3 times. 1st...The Yardbirds 2nd...Cream 3rd...as a solo artist. He's also been ranked one of the top five guitarist in the world.
First can I say anyone who hit a thumb down on this is just a troll! And have no soul! Glad to see you react to one of my favorite live performances! Glad you found it finally!
Not sure if you've listened to or reacted to The Beatles "My Guitar Gently Weeps", George Harrison knew Clapton needed to sit in on guitar. He also has the chops to sit in with BB King and the old timers.
Definitely need more of Slowhand himself. Motherless Children, Willie and the Hand Jive. Also, my fiancé wants you to go back to the "I'm out, dawg" quick exit. LoL.
You MUST listen to Layla by Eric's band called Derek & The Dominos. He plays guitar beside another stellar guitar player called Duane Allman, from The Allman Bros. Band. It will bring you to your knees, bro !
Seen Eric 3 times in the 80's, twice in the 90's. Each time phenomenal, yet each show very different from each other. Not hard tho when you have so many hits
When reacting to Eric Clapton must include both versions of the song LAYLA fist the rock version(because it was first) then the ballard version (because its AMAZING)
Given your reaction to Old Love, you need to watch "Holy Mother" by E.C. with Pavarotti, ( or maybe Pavarotti with E.C. :-), it will make you weep !!! I'm so glad to see a younger generation beginning to appreciate this special music !!!
he is good in the studio, but he's 1000 times better live and this is one of his very best videos especially if you are a electric guitar freak like I am, I just wished they had released this concert on dual cds
Something a little bit different, check out EC Royal Albert Hall 24 Nights, ‘Edge of darkness’ IT….. WILL…..BLOW ….. YOUR …..MIND 🤣🤣🤣🤣 (I was there and it did 🤣)
During a guitar solo at a clapton concert my brother said "he has the guitar plugged into his heart". I think that is a perfect quote
That is perfect. Eric plays the right note at the right time...regards .
Clapton is a blues Legend, as well as Rock...Clapton gets down on everything.
My man Nathan East killing that solid, low down groove on the bass. Musical perfection.
I have been urging reactors to react to this particular piece for the last few years. No one listening. Thank you for doing this. If this performance doesn't touch your soul, what will? Appreciate this man and the band!

Dr. Steve Gadd on drums here KILLS it

Nathan East on Bass as well. LEGEND

He was at his peak around this time imo...
Hes such a legend on the guitar people forget how gifted he is as a singer. I frigging love Clapton! Awesome reaction
Back in the day the term for such music was "solid gold". Its still a viable term for timeless performances that just keep on giving decade after decade! Great reaction!
He plays the weeping guitar on While My Guitar Gently Weeps! You've heard Eric before, just didn't know it✌❤🤘!!..
Eric's "Layla" live at Madison Square Garden 1999 (think maybe same concert as this) will also give your ears a treat
I have seen Eric at the Royal Albert Hall 9 times and I can honestly say he has always brought me to tears and I’ve sat there, moth open, trying to soak it all up, he is, quite literally an amazing performer
Don't need that 2nd cup of coffee this morning, H!! Thank you!! Steve Gadd on the drums. David Sanborn on sax.
Songs like this of clapton are automatic tears flowing and heart pounding
There is saying ‘You can’t play the Blues until you have lived the Blues’. This is why I started seriously begin to play to play guitar.
Can you belive he has the nickname Slow Hand? I've seen him live three times. What a guitarist. Keep on keeping on.
The nickname Slowhand doesn't mean he plays slow. He got that when he was in the Yardbirds, and he was constantly breaking strings on stage and had to change them in front of the audience. The audience would start a slow hand clap and thus the name.
My favorite version of this Clapton Classic
The Master of the Stratocaster, Slow hand himself! My first concert, Mobile, AL 1976!
Only artist to be inducted into to the RR HOF 3 times 1. Yardbirds 2. Cream 3. Solo artist He's just downright impressive as hell✌❤🤘
Yardbirds!! That’s the one I always forget!!
@Joe Smith let's not forget Blind Faith🤘
@Joe Smith I have the DVD of that you lucky so and so, lol!it's my absolute favorite✌🤘
@Joe Smith lol! I think they had, to my ear, a similar approach to the guitar along with Dave Mason. Like the chord progression and sound while shredding. Just a thought. ✌🤘
Ps. Sorry about your nuts
Eric and his band are amazing
Oh yeah Bruv doing Clapton? I'm gonna love this.
thats what music about feeling and Clapton has it
Notice u could hear a pin drop in there? I saw him on his Blues Tour. 3 1/2 hours of Church just like this. He’s my hero. The Blues rule. This one of favorite songs/performances of his.
One of the best hands down
Clapton is the only person to be inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame 3times!
Wow that's was just out of this world 🌍. . WOW 😳.
Eric is the king of blues 💙. Stevey ray and many others like them looked up to Eric Clapton ❤
Eric Clapton 5 long years live is a must see
Agree J P, that is a scorcher!
this was excellent in so may ways...one of my favorite Clapton songs ever!! the unplugged version is super good also...
The whole album Journeyman is in my car player...Clapton is my go to when I am in my car.....
The first blues song I learned to play was Crossroads! the Clapton version.
He wrote the song with Robert Cray for Eric's album Journeyman in 1989, this is my favorite version of the song, and oh yeah Mary J. is at this concert and does Not Goin' Cry with Eric and his band and her back up singers and it is bad to the bone
This is a different level.
very expressive

I waited the whole time for him to get to Tim Carmon’s solo. I think he liked it 😂
Clapton remains to this day the ONLY guitarist to be inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame THREE separate times. Once as a member of the Yardbirds, once as a member of Cream and, finally, as a solo artist.
Guitars go to bed at night hoping they'll get a Eric Clapton for Christmas! (seen him twice)
The accoustic performance of this song from Clapton Unplugged is also excellent
Clapton and Babyface- Change The World is a must. Awesome reaction brother.
Check out Derek and The Domino’s and Cream and there’s one more band he was in and I always forget it….he’s a Legend!! I think you got about 5 decades worth of work to check out!! I’m gonna enjoy this rabbit hole!!
Blind Faith :)
This is one of the best videos I have seen on You Tube. I have never seen it before. Thanks Haze. Great reaction to a stupendous performance.
Can you even imagine what it would be like to have the wild privilege to be on stage and play with him? One of his VERY best songs that for whatever reason hasn't gotten the credit that is due is a live version of A River of Tears..
Clapton is on the imaginary Mt Rushmore of guitar gods. Enjoy.

They is a reason they say Clapton is God.
The Core is a fabulous song by Clapton
Eric Clapton is the only artist that has been inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame 3 times.
1st...The Yardbirds
2nd...Cream
3rd...as a solo artist.
He's also been ranked one of the top five guitarist in the world.
In the 60s, they used to write stuff like “Clapton is God” on the street walls.
First can I say anyone who hit a thumb down on this is just a troll! And have no soul! Glad to see you react to one of my favorite live performances! Glad you found it finally!
EC kills it. Tim deserves that too!
Not sure if you've listened to or reacted to The Beatles "My Guitar Gently Weeps", George Harrison knew Clapton needed to sit in on guitar. He also has the chops to sit in with BB King and the old timers.
Now just imagine the music of his that you have yet to discover. Get listening....
Definitely need more of Slowhand himself. Motherless Children, Willie and the Hand Jive.
Also, my fiancé wants you to go back to the "I'm out, dawg" quick exit. LoL.
This is 'real' feel.
You MUST listen to Layla by Eric's band called Derek & The Dominos. He plays guitar beside another stellar guitar player called Duane Allman, from The Allman Bros. Band. It will bring you to your knees, bro !
Eric Clapton and George Harrison were best friends!!!🎼👌🎵👍🎶✌😀
I love you're reactions. U have special talent ❤
If led zepplin is low down dirty then Eric Clapton is stanky❣️. Said with love and admiration
Steve Gadd on drums and Nathan East on bass...two dynamic players.
Clapton is God🤘🏼
Seen Eric 3 times in the 80's, twice in the 90's. Each time phenomenal, yet each show very different from each other. Not hard tho when you have so many hits
I dont know why Im watching that instead of the original one but I like it
Thank you for mentionning Pink Floyd’s Comfortably numb
When reacting to Eric Clapton must include both versions of the song LAYLA fist the rock version(because it was first) then the ballard version (because its AMAZING)
The Master
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'd like youre reaction whit a rock and blues , this is a great music :) Saludos desde México hermano :)
Thank you for liking my aspirations, hope you won't stop?
Clapton’s nickname was Slow Hand.
Given your reaction to Old Love, you need to watch "Holy Mother" by E.C. with Pavarotti, (
or maybe Pavarotti with E.C. :-), it will make you weep !!!
I'm so glad to see a younger generation beginning to appreciate this special music !!!
u shud react to his song Pretending from his 24 Nights Live album. It's a different era of Clapton and would be curious to see what u think.
He wrote a song After Midnight. It’s wonderful BUT find the Michelob sp?commercial version. In f incredible!!
U must react to "LAYLA "and "Wonderful Tonight " both live are great!!😁💜 u won't regret it!!!
The best live versions are from the same concert as this video. Clapton was on fire that night.
Big fan , check out Cocaine by Eric Clapton
GADD!!!!
he is good in the studio, but he's 1000 times better live and this is one of his very best videos especially if you are a electric guitar freak like I am, I just wished they had released this concert on dual cds

The only thing better than fast guitar licks, are slow guitar licks. There's a reason they called him, Slow hand. He was badass
He is in the rock and roll hall fame 3 times he isn't bad lol
You cant beat the real Talk Box no matter what electro/tech you have.
