Exactly! That is exactly what puts the Sienna on top of my list, the AWD and hybrid. All mini vans do around 8km/l while the sienna does 15.5km/L, and it is AWD. Other than Sienna, only the Pacifica boosters that.
Odyssey needs a major update in the inside. I wish they would make an electric seat converter for the back seats, instead of having to do it manually! Also, an update is needed for the display and media including the blue ray dvd !!! No one uses dvd’s anymore!

I am currently shopping for a minivan, I found out the Chrysler website (and all the other brands in the same family) allow you to compare their car with the competition right, they pull data from all cars from all makers. So I went about inspecting their page, found the API they use (which is unprotected), long story short, I have a spreadsheet with over 90 columns and more than 100 cars (year+trim) for 7 and 8 seaters. The Sienna still on top of my list because of the AWD (here in canada is a must IMO), and the fact that because it is a hybrid the millage is so good, 15.5km/L, while other minivans (odissey included) do around 8km/L, so in practice you end up paying half in fuel.

Awd is not a must if you out good winter tires but a good thing to have. The tires there days if you buy a good sets are phenomenal and can get you through pretty much all road maybe unless you go ride in the thick of a blizzard
The middle row seat latch that you said tilts the seats up and the rails stick out, those are actually to remove those seats completely from the vehicle. Another "game changer" that others don't offer. If you're ever needing a ton of space, removing 1, 2, or all 3 middle row seats is a great option. Also, the Touring and Elite trim levels do have parking sensors, and when they detect something a 360 vehicle view diagram pops up on the right side of the screen, showing lighted bands as you get closer to the object. Not a true 360 camera view, but a similar enough feature to maybe mention. Nice review.
As someone who has owned quite a few Hondas and looking to buy another, I can honestly say that the navigation and usb ports have never worked properly in any of the Hondas I've been in.
I’d love to buy a new one. My 2009 is still running strong and has features missing or downsized here. Can this hold sheets of drywall? The mid section bumps in floor storage compartment under second row? And when all the seats lowered or taken down does not appear totally flat ? Spare tire in 3rd row in side? Top vents now moved to side on second floor. 😢. Miss the ability to open back 3rd windows pop out. Great review.

You can't get rid of the 'feature' in the second row where the seat lifts up. The entire second row is removable. That is a must if you haul both people and big cargo. Try that in an awd hybrid Sienna. I'm so tired of all the vehicle reviews that seem to push for one vanilla van across manufacturers. We have so few choices already. If you want an awd hybrid buy a Sienna. Don't ruin the v6 Odyssey.
The last redesign was back in 2017 as a 2018 model year. I would think that the van needs a complete overhaul and makeover inside and outside with a Hybrid variant.
As mentioned in the video, it received a "mid-cycle refresh" in 2021, so the timeline makes sense for an updated vehicle, but the effects of 2020 cannot be ignored. If their Passport and Ridgeline vehicles (which share a platform with this and the NEW Pilot, are carryover models for 2024 with mild updates, I would not hold my breath on a new Odyssey.
Very true. Odyssey is still the best as a mini-van. Build quality, power delivery, reliability, space are all the best. Toyota Sienna is too loud, poor build, weak drivetrain and ugly design!
Really Honda is more reliable than Toyota? I understand you love your Honda but the facts don’t support your claim. Toyota is crushing the competition so much so I can’t find sienna for myself. Went to two Honda dealers looking at odyssey Could have one today.

I would be happy to buy a hybrid. However, the awd doesn’t make sense for me since I am buying a minivan for max space and gas mileage.

The 2025 Kia Carnival Hybrid has potential to usurp those and assume the top spot.
The lights you use to tilt the passenger seat forward where you said that the slide sticks out is actually the latch to remove the seat

Did you happen to try the cruise control while you had it? …I’ve been having issues with fluctuating speed…

I’d say Honda or Toyota. The Pacifica’s seats are a bit firm. Have barely tested the Kia Carnival.
When are we expecting 2025 model?
Toyota and Pacifica hybrid and awd, makes things complicated and takes a hit on reliability. I stick with tried and true v6 from Honda for now.
There is a lot to be said for simplicity.
