I'm the same age, a massive surfing fan (that occurred later in my life, even though I grew up a few miles from Rincon!) , and I'm going on 10 years sober, so a lot I could relate to. Just gotta fix the part where I don't surf....
Riding my ripstick around the park while my kids play isn't filling that void only surfing will fill.
