Everyone is probably sleeping or continuing to party after after the superbowl. Good idea about following multiple media sites. Information gathering is important. The S50 is an amazing device. I'm glad I found and bought it as my first. I was heading down a very expensive path. I still might eventually do that but I'll enjoy the S50 for a while. I have a lot to learn on post processing. Thanks for posting.

FYI, the Civil Aviation Admin is not the FAA. FAA is in America but it's OK they all follow the same rules. On the charging it depends on the type of charger. it says on the charger which one it is. 5V or 12V. also, there isn't any reason you can't have multiple batteries already charged and then just change them out in the field if you want.

In your Seestar app, go to 1) SkyAtlas 2) tap Search (looks like little magnifying glass) 3) An objects menu appears. 4) Go down to ‘Catalog’, scroll all the way to the right until you see ‘Named Star’.
Another way is to use the search magnifying glass to just type out the name of the star in the search bar (type the star name, such as Sirius) Either way works : )

Do you think there is a risk of having your tripod confiscated if you travel by plane?

In most cases, tripods are allowed on planes in carry-on luggage and checked baggage, according to TSA (United States). As long as it meets the size restrictions for carry-on luggage. The final decision rests with the TSA officer on whether an item is allowed through the checkpoint. Check online with the specific airline website but in most cases it should be fine
