    Nathan you are a genius. I read all your books where i learned a lot.and tryed many times to combine the flash ambient technique with the 360 photography. But i never got a good workflow and had problems with continues lighting the single images that i get a perfect balanced picture when i stitch them together. Defenitely will get your book immediately. Thanks alot for your great work. Just ordered the theta z1 that will arrive tommorow. I saw some youtube videos that quite impressed me with the new option for in camera hdr.dng blending. Best regards Georg

      Thanks Georg. I think you'll find my approach to flambient on 360s is rather simple, and accurate for stitching. Hope you like the new book!

    Just got a Neewer pano head and began to setup. After centering vertically I moved to the upright position...and the parallex was dead on. Ha! First time. Just happen to setup in the right spot. LoL

    Hi Nathan, thanks for the great videos.
    Question on the NN6.... The link in your description is for the basic NN6 package. I noticed there is also a package with a Zenith adapter though. Is that not required or do we need purchase this as well?

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  4 роки тому

      I think you might be referring to the "Nadir" adapter...all pano heads can shoot a Zenith. Something I talk about in the new book is how I don't usually shoot a nadir, so this isn't something I use, but optional if you want. The link to that is: www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1415827-REG/nodal_ninja_f6002_nn6_with_nadir_adapter.html?sts=pi&pim=Y

    Which format of 360 is better to upload to facebook? PNG or JPG? Png file is like 5x bigger. Let me know your suggestion.

    • @NathanCoolPhoto

      I'd say neither. FB is constantly changing the backend rendering engines and it works differently depending on their device detection, so I'd recommend hosting the 360 pano and sharing the hosted link, which will be much more consistent.

    Hey nathan thanks for the video!!!
    I bought the book and the neewer head but I can't calibrate it no matter what, I pointed the camera downwards and adjusted it so its pointing down to the center but I can never get two parallel items to stay that way, I chose a wall line and a tripod in between that is parallel but there is always a bit of movement between the two, when I turn to the right the tripod is left of the line and when I move left the tripod is to the right, what can I do? I allready turn it backwards as much as I could but it doesn't help

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  2 роки тому

      You're very welcome! You didn't include some important information: what camera, lens, and what you did to find the no parallax point, not just the downward nodal point. Can you provide a bit more info?

    • @noam8314
      @noam8314 2 роки тому

      @@NathanCoolPhoto thank you for answering so quickly!!!
      I currently use a canon 16-35 f4 lens,
      After the downwards nodal point I turned the camera so it was horizontal and put a large tripod between me and a line between two intersecting walls so they were parallel to each other, and the tripod was directly covering the wall line.
      After making sure everything were aligned I took a shot, than turned to the right about 40 degrees and took another, and than took another shot 40 degrees to the left of the original, I saw that the tripod was moving to the left and right of the original location.
      I moved the camera to the front of the bracket and tried again, and it still wasn't right so I moved the camera a bit to the back of the bracket and did it for several more times, until I got to the utmost back and there was still a small difference.

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  2 роки тому

      There are two main problems with what you're doing. First, you don't need to take a shot between pano head rotation when calibrating to see if you are achieving a no-parallax-point, that'll drive you batter and take too much time; instead, use live view like I show in the video and the book amzn.to/3Cbg5g0 But the bigger issue is that you are not using a wide enough lens, and a variable length at that, making the whole process more complicated than it has to be. It's better to use a fisheye lens like I recommend in the virtual tour photography book, which will lessen any issues with stitching. Also, you didn't mention what camera you are using, so if you're not using a FF sensor, then you are further complicating the process by having much too long of a focal length. I'd suggest getting one of the Samyang fisheye lenses, here are links for Canon for both FF and APS-C:
      FF: amzn.to/3dCL3n8
      APS-C: amzn.to/3wbZ69E

    Hi Nathan,
    Big thanks for your tutorials here on youtube :D
    Im sure you get a answer on my question in your book...but i dont have it yet^^
    Did u see any problems with the quality with the "cheap" fishey from wallimex/samyang on the edges?
    cromatic aberations/ softness etc.
    or ptgui stitch only the "good" part in the center of each picture together?

    I know i could buy the book but im on the edge of my seat waiting for the hosting video. Matterport goes easily to Redfin and Realtor.com, and Zillow does its own proprietary stuff, so im curious what your average realtor can get for custom 360 tours to populate on the sites people actually shop on.

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  4 роки тому +2

      All 360 tours get syndicated the same way from MLSs to those sites...the agent just includes the link to the virtual tour and it is syndicated.

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  4 роки тому +1

      You can use any lens, although it may require more images for overlap/stitching. Best bet I'd suggest is to get a pano head, then try your 12mm Roki, and if it doesn't work then take the next step and buy a fisheye.

    What's a good height for setting the tripod

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  3 роки тому

      It varies to ensure you capture elements properly (kitchens you don't want too low that you don't see counters) yet not be too high as too see too much ceiling, yet high if for instance if you are in a large foyer. It also depends on your initial starting point when making the scene for the virtual tour. I talk about this and other issues in more detail in my e-book on virtual tour photography, here's a link if you'd like to check that out: amzn.to/3hwwFNd

    Are four photos a requirement?

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  4 роки тому

      Actually, 5 minimum; however, the key is overlap...hence, you could use any lens but then have to take many more shots. I talk about this in more details in the e-book: www.amazon.com/dp/B089SB3RY3
