Acoustic panels effect: Cheap room treatment

- Acoustic treatment: four step of the process in making our studio sounds better. Total of panel used: 36mq (about 118 ft.) plus the bass traps it cost me around 500€
I do not sponsor any company of panels in any way, please beware of false advertising.
A live recording, to get an idea of the sound properties of the room in action: • Yellow Submarine - Pun...
Listen trough a pair of headphones or a good set of speaker to ear best the differences in sounds.
The mic used in this test are a pair of built-in stereo mics of a panasonic Lumix TZ-10 shooting at 720p.

I have been watching videos and listening to in depth discussions on room acoustics. You said more without saying anything that all the others I have seen. That just makes sense. thx
Amen brother. Every other videos just a bunch of bullshit. So you can keep watching more of their stupid fucking videos.

theres a bug on your chair to the right at 1:10
+Nick Bilic
How did you see that?! Someone get this guy a job with the government so he can stop the next 9/11. ... 9/12.
I noticed it too.
+Chris Katko There are two bugs, kind sir! One on the leg of the stool, near the screw.
+Ronii Cooper nice find!
Are you a VIRGO?
The best demo of the effectivness of traps I have ever seen! Great video!!!
BUT - if you listen on monitors, you'll hear the false sense of security it gives you. Most of the trapping has been in the upper regions. There is very little trapping of the low mids and bass end - this will give you a very skewed picture. Still - an effective demo.
@SMOG and diffusers are also needed
In the final video there's still some ringing
Stimpy&Ren Can you explain this in layman’s terms plz
Bass traps help you absorb standing waves and low frequencies in the corners. It barely has influence on the snare, but it will fix your kicks, toms and basses.

There goes your free reverb
Reverb is something you can always add
Laurent de backer i know i know. Just joking around here. I prefer a slightly reverbish room yet have complety carpetted my studio to avoid reflections. Persian carpets from IKEA ftw.
Haha, i agree on that with you Nightingale :-)
Yeah, and even though that bomb blast reverb wouldn't work for everything - what he ended up being left with was nasty flutter echoes.
@@nate6692 yeah but the low end is clean, and thats a priority.
amazing
dude i like your video's
DUDE YOU JUST SAVED ME $100S OF DOLLARS BECAUSE I WASNT UNDERSTANDING PEOPLE THANK YOU..
Fantastic demo! Concise, clear to the point without any unnecessary commentary. One of the best Ive seen (on ANY subject).

Best sound proofing room comparison video I have seen so far!
John Behring this video has nothing to do with sound proofing.
I think what he meant was best sound absorbing video posted. It's funny how lots of muscians will hate the foam added because they want that natural reverb but me as a producer wants to complete dead the room and add my own reverbs, delays, etc post recording.
There is NO sound proofing here. You need dense materials not sponge. Does the sponge on your microphone stop sound????? Lol
@@independentjames1 Of course you could make fun of someone because he accidentally used a wrong word. Or you could just grow the fuck up and leave them alone, reminding them kindly or what would be correct.

What the other folks said: this is the best demo of acoustic treatment of a room I've seen.

Thank you for making this. Most videos about this are produced narrative pieces that don't really clear up much. I looked for "Amazon bass trap empty room" an saw this and it is PERFECT. Every treatment step is shown and heard starting with a really terrible empty room. That's all I needed. That's probably all anyone needs. Thank you so much.
The room doesn't sound good enough for recording yet, BUT--that's the best comparison video I've seen so far! Straight to the point with easy to understand information. Great job! Thanks lots!
Excellent, excellent demonstration.

Always thought only audiophiles will actually hear the difference, your video proved me wrong
Best video to watch before buying acoustic panels, and best video demonstrating how acoustic panels work. Love it mate!
Brief and succinct demonstration, without a single word said. You have my thanks.
Probably one of the most in depth videos ive seen on youtube for acoustic treatment. Great job!

Thanks for the initiative! Really interesting A-B-C-D comparison.
I am in the process of treating a studio myself. This video is without a doubt the best demo I've seen of the effects of room treatment. The room is definitely a worst case scenario with all the hard surfaces and the choice of using a snare drum (wide range of frequencies) was a great idea! Thanks for posting this.
Thanks for posting. It was great to see the improvement that even just a small amount of panels provided.
We have an hour long discussions on this subject. Your 2 minute video says lot more than that bro 😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍
Awesome quick comparison! Thank you so much. So many do a lot of talking, this is a clear example of the effect, and we can take it where we want from here.
WOW! That was MAGICAL! I loved how fast the sound changed! Crazy man, good video, nice and short and to the point thank you!

Smart. Simple. Effective. To-the-point. I. Love. You!!!
This is incredible. It makes it so much more clear. Thank you
Wow...an incredible yet practical example of acoustic treatment. Nice job!
This has probably got to be the Best Example Ive seen to date re; Reverb & the Need for Treatment! Thanks Man
Sweet. This is the kind of no BS video I was looking for with a very clear and simple example tone for each room. Thanks!
No bs. Straight to the point demo.much appreciated. Great job 👍
Best demonstration for room acoustics I have seen. Great job.
Thanks a lot for your demonstration! I will use it for sure at my acoustic classes!
One of the best acoustic treatment comparison vid in youtube!
Great take on a comparison video. Really helpful (not necessarily cheap but you get what you pay for). Nice job and thanks for helping me out.
Thanks! Thanks! Thanks! getting ready to build my studio and this example of foam placement really helped!
This video was on point. Others have full mixes going and when played through speakers its still somewhat controlled so you never truly see the affect the room has on sound. Great approach. One snare - add treatment - compare.
Straight to the point, easy explaination without waste of time with talking
Thank you for posting this. We are going to make changes to a new meeting room at our church. It has a concrete floor, metal ceiling, and drywall on the walls. It's 100 ft long (about 33 meters), 18 feet tall, and 40 feet across. You cannot have a decent conversation at 3 meters away. Seeing the differences in the steps encourages me that we can improve the room just by covering 30% of the surfaces.
MUCH NEEDED. BLESS YOUR SOUL SMART GUY

This is a very impressive demonstration of acoustic dynamics in a room. This is difficult to find. This movies lack of opinion is excellent.Thank You and well done
Very good example showing the value of audio treatments.
Could tell the difference straight away with the Bass traps. Excellent demonstration.
Excellent! Simple, effective and informative. Many thanks.
Simple, quick, effective video. Great job
wow, this is AMAZING! straight up, i have so many small foams like these, and im about to put them up all over the whole ceiling and walls.. nice!
Awesome. Artistic and clever
Thanks for banging it home bro!
FINALLY!!! Someone put together a video that illustrates what acoustic treatment does for the LISTENER!!!! Please rate this video very high. Kudo's dude.
Xcellent- nice presentation of the 4 steps.
Thanks!
Thank you for exhibiting the differences. I'd been looking around and this really illustrates the effect. Also that hair is awesome.
Imma show this to my elementary school kids. You should be proud.
I am, thank you :)
Excellent video my man!,... it´s so clear no words or dialog needed.

Man I bet the neighbors thought they were hearing gun fire from these tests. It really did show how reflections can effect the sound of a room.
It’s good to see someone show what sound treatment is made for. IT IS NOT SOUND PROOFING!!!!!!!
Awesomely helpful video, thanks.
davvero un ottimo video, realmente esplicativo!
grazie bello
Awesome! Thank you for sharing this! :)
Brilliant idea! I'll try that then. Thanks!
Nice examples, well done! Thanks!
Brilliant video. Thank you.
the best way ever explained, thank you.. I wished this video was in here when I began mixing music.
wow great video! Really shows the effects of traps
Respect for the demonstration. Nice and scientific
brilliant demo.
Finally, a video that REALLY shows a newb like me what acoustic treatment is meant to accomplish; thanks, I am posting this on my facebook
thanks for the effort mate!! a very good source of information for me.
Best damn video on the internet thanks so much. I was stuck trying to figure out what to do with my ceiling and I can just put panels there!
Thank u so much bro this proved my dad how useful it is
awesome comparison. Now I know what I have to do.
Great demo ! Thanks !
I liked the way you made the comparison. Good work, nice vid.
Very good example, good job guy, Now I'm understanding how effect of room acoustic treatment
BEST video demonstration
Awesome video. Really helpful!
Great demo. Would have probably gone for more broadband bass traps than the foam but at least you got rid of the slap back and the flutter echo.
Excelente, mejor no se pudo haber explicado la insonorización de un cuarto. Congratulation.
WOW THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!!
Great video. Thank you very much!
Amazing amount of difference, addition of carpet should suppress the long snare decay.
Some carpets would finish it all off.
Great, usefull and clear video man!
I thought that wooden floors are ideal?
Great great great great video!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!!
Really appreciate this guy.
Absolutely excellent, thank you.
