Oh yes! Grown people playing pretend 👍 hurray for humanity. Running around in a white pajamas, yelling kiay! It’s all very heartwarming and sweet, but I can’t stop thinking about the “trainer” or “sensei” that makes a mockery of innocent people to make money. It’s just so bizarre. I guess it’s all part of the human experience in this fucked up world we are living in. Hopefully they know deep down that they are just playing. A 10 year old girl with rudimentary combat training, like a few years in wrestling or boxing will beat the living daylights out of every single one in this room.

Can someone please explain why they are doing this? What’s the point or value in this?

It builds confidence and allows people to use their bodies, rather than sitting around inside developing judgements. Many of us could grow tremendously from registering for a dojo/martial arts club.

generally if you are properly trained you can defend yourself if necessary in a real fight, even against multiple attackers. if you are going to a MC Dojo, you think you are properly trained but in a real situation you get your clock cleaned because what you thought worked doesn't. Rank doesn't matter, black belts who think they know what they are doing could still get their clocks cleaned because they don't know how to generate power or use good techniques. When i was testing we broke one board, not 3 or 4 for one test.

amazingly poor performance on last break with side kick. should be kicking rhru the board with the edge of the foot, not stomping on surface with heel of foot. 3 attempts to break it and on the break you where too high, not centered. if this is your 3rd gup you don't seem worth your rank. probably need a better instructor. primary thing is you need to learn how to generate power hitting thru your target. you also need to learn better techmique. in a real situatuin your belt will not matter. what you can actually do will.

@@timgriffith9333 she should know how to do the techniques without issue. yet, she was having alot of issues. remember when I was a kid, like 10, and broke a board with almost no training with elbow. she seemed similarly little training to break board with elbow with same technique I did when I was 10. in the video black belt instructor shows her how to do it while she is sitting down. the black belt instructor had decent technique and could actually break the board. not hard, and the green belt does manage to break the board on the first attempt. This is part of the problem. she doesn't know what she is doing and isn't prepped before the test. she should of not needed 3 attempts to break the board with the side kick. she should of been practicing all of this with a body bag and know how it feels to hit with her full force. it should look like she sets up the board, and breaks it, quick and competently. the black belts looked like they could do that. she needs better instruction to be better prepared. with regard to the side kick, it should be with the edge of the heel. the toes should be tilted away from the contact. its edged so you cannot hit with the flat of the foot, which you can do if you don't use correct technique. jumping in the air might be problematic if she isn't trained on how to do flying side kicks.

It's a middle aged woman, building her confidence and being a mentor for her child. I doubt she's training to go compete.
