"Year of the Monkey" was a fantastic book. She is an amazing writer, poet, singer, performer...a genuine, kind, and unpretentious human.
Her album horses is legendary. Glad she's still.kicking it
I still listen to it almost daily.

I have an older sister who in the late seventies had all their records. So often when I arrived home and went into the living room, I saw Patti Smith on a album cover, next to the record player, and I knew my sister was in the house.
Patti Smith was really a big star in the late seventies, in particular for those looking for an alternative to "disco music".
I love Patti, she s so humble, like she s not famous, not big deal, she s just a fan, jaja, talking about famous people. I love her so much, and her honesty, integrity trought the years. She s really a Model, rol model, and an artist and really an Icon, a beautiful soul.
One of the great pleasures of my life is that I got to see her perform all of Horses live. She's such an inspiration and a joy to read as well. I really wish I could hang out with her. Seems like such a lovely lady, full of experiences and things. You can really see how she's grown as a person after reading about her.

I Love Patti, have always loved Patti Smith since I first saw her for $2.50 at the Central Park Schaefer Music festivals in the early '70s. She's always been a riveting performer; she's a rebel in touch with her heart & what's happening in the world as much as she's ever been.
