why would it be f(0)=8 why would the answer have to equal 8. Why is the f(1)=12 there ? hope the question makes sense

Good question!!
f(0) = 8 means when x is 0 you get 8 for the function.
f(1) = 12 means when x is 1 you get 12 for the function…
So here you just want to plug in a 0 for x and see which a sweet choice gives you 8…
You can also plug in a 1 for x and see which one gives you a 12…
