Very cool to find a big spray can at a big box store that actually holds up and covers well. I'll abstain from the give away but wanted to comment anyway! If the picker lands on me please pick again. I've got enough kits in the stash I need to work on which will hopefully be coming to my channel. I've been stocking up on the Mr. Hobby gear. Can't wait to try it all out! Let's get Barbatos to 50K!
Damn, That jet black spray is a great way to put some base black gloss to try out metallics. too bad I can't find any plastic spoons lately.
The water based would be good with foam terrain.
Very interesting with acrylic cans. I will need to see if i can get some here to try.
nice sprayin i don't think i could find this over here in europe
What a great testing those acrylic paint cans blew me away. Well I have to go to Wally-World and rustle up some of them there rattle cans.
Your videos always get a thumbs up. I have learned a lot from you. Thanks!
It's always a Great start of the weekend when you drop a new video !!!!👏👏 Standing Ovation for the content of this video, Thank you very very much for testing and the reviews of these paints. I've been seeing them more often and been wanting to try them but didn't want it to be a waste of money. Thank you very much and please keep em coming. Everyone keep yourselves and love ones safe and healthy and remember to SMILE 😜🤪
Just started modeling and watching your videos helps a lot. Keep up the videos!
Thanks buddy 👍
I'm going to have to give these Pinty spray cans a try. Ever since I got an airbrush, I've only been priming with the brush. And these are at Walmart too? That is super convenient as well.
ok.... this is Todd from New Bedford, friend and customer of Walter from Gundam pros.as always love the new video on spray cans.I need to know the Walmart where you got the EVO PAINT from, can't find it in my neck of the woods.Dartmouth, Fairhaven, and Warham or even Fall River, I am willing to drive to Rhode Island, its only a 20 minute drive for me. just looking for a way to save money. THANKS so much keep up the great work.Side note i am letting my friends know about you trying to reach the fifty thousand mark, ill keep trying to get you new subscribers.best of luck.
Another good looking product you have found there sir
this video is outstanding.... so informational and exciting all in one :D
You must live in the best city imaginable it seems like every store has the coolest paints and tools available.
The EVO seems amazing
Thanks for your paint test 👍
I accidentally thinned my tamiya primer too much and used a airbrush that shot paint out way to aggressively and I got the same result as the white lacquer primer.
I never knew about the acrylic spray cans. Those came out great looking. Being able to pick them up at a walmart is just a bonus specially if in a pinch. Will be checking my local walmart for some white and black to have on hand. Keep em coming
Trying to bamboozle me I see lol.
The Tamiya spray can is like $12 in the Hobby Lobbys in my area (southern Nevada). I haven't used em yet but if I pick em up, I think i will at a local hobby shop, rather give the small business my money.
as someone with an airbrush these aren't as appealing. Still cool to see. I wonder how much paint you can get out of a can by decanting them. at $5 a can 9 oz or $9 a can 11 oz that should be a lot. That said you could just use dollar store acrylics....
Except I can't find any super cheap non-aerosol clear paint. There's pledge but that's kinda different and it's discontinued now.
Ahhh Mr barbatos what can I get you today
Spoons my good sir.
No sandwich?...OK you want a drink with that order?
Great review. Not a big fan of spray cans but those EVO paints look promising. I'll have to check out my local Walmart to see if they carry them.
ncie video, I dont have much use for spray cans except primers and black gloss for my spoon collection. But if you really wanna go HAM on spay cans, then you should try out Molotows line of rattle cans.
My Walmart didn't have any😞 but hobby lobby had something similar. Just came out to heavy.
Looking forward to finding the acrylic cans at my local Walmart. Way cheaper than Citadel spray cans.
Wish we had a HobbyLobby or Walmart in the EU.--Germany threw Walmart out of the country.
Looks like the acrylic spray paint is great, I wonder what clear I can use with it. Thanks for the video.
I would love to be able to pick up the acrylic paints they look amazing
Not bad looking for spray cans. Quick question- what is your go to gloss black base or gloss black primer? Are you going to do a video on black primers like you did for the white?
My go to for black is Alclad Gloss Black Base. I also like their regular black primer. For an acrylic Gloss Black Base I like Stynylrez Gloss Black. Add a few drops of thinner and it comes out nice and shiny
@@barbatosrex9473 thx
I’ll be looking at my Walmart for these. My local hobby store closed so I need any place I can to get paint.
Very nice sprays. Try find here in Brazil. Thanks buddy
Think my favorite was the light blue
I’ve never tried using spray cans but after watching this I light give it a go
Looking forward to the giveaways
my god , ive been hooked with this channel , with the paint reviews !!! , this will save me lots of time and money in testing for my next project
I agree I love Chris channel and the advice he gives us
If you want a lot more subs, maybe do some build vids or kit reviews.
In for the V fin!
I had found those at Walmart awhile ago. Wanted to try them. Glad you end up testing for me, thanks again rex.
loving this review, I think that the colorshot is also sold at some Michaels stores.
I still cant paint my gnpla with spray can well i think airbrush is better
Can I enter to win if I am not in the USA? subbed anyway!
Thank you! I need to buy a can of the EVO clear matte.
Lookin forward to the 50k celebrations! I’ve been looking for some good spray cans because I’m doing a car model for a friend soon, and I don’t have an airbrush. These acrylics look good!
Been wary of spray paints after I ruined an entire project with a spray on clear gloss that came out so heavy it immediately orange-peeled the whole project. Probably still won't use these for color, but might try them for a quick, cheaper primer. Thanks for the video, much nicer than doing all the trial and error on my own projects
Yep, I learned that the hard way too
Yes , same here . If I really want a canned paint color, I decant it and airbrush it.
Thanks for showing us the Evolution line in action. Nice to see a “basement friendly” spray can primer!
I don't think these paints are available at Walmart Canada. Beautiful colors though
Thank you for all your videos
Loving the in-depth paint comparison reviews as always! Commenting to hopefully boost engagement for this quality content!
Very nice video as always.
I’ll have to try out the Evo. Looks great and love that it’s acrylic! Thanks for sharing. Your test videos are great and really helpful to those of us who are new to the hobby.
Like always! nice video! cheers from URUGUAY!
Very Cool!!!!! I might just have to grab some!!!!! Thank you for all your hard work!!!!👍😎
My only criticism is these paints are not formulated & spray nozzles are not designed for small modeling projects. I'm an outdoor model railroader. As with outdoor house paint, solvent based paint is better outdoors, especially on wood. The slower dry time allows the paint to soak & grab the wood fibers better. Acrylics wood sucks moisture too quickly allowing the pigment to dry & sit on top of the surface. I've never had very good results with acrylics outside. They're great inside where no temperature & humidity extremes exist.
As for your experience with incompatible primer, that's not unusual. A lot of hobby paint manufacturers say to test the compatibility of paints, primers, & materials being sprayed.
My 2 cents. My trains run in the snow & rain, buildings stay outside. Now that I'm retired I have more time for maintenance.
Awesome.. Acylic paint test!
Always live your vids!. Great work!
Wow I just recieved the quickest FAKE (YOU WON ) message ever...lol
I love that Dark Blue, it reminded me of a Cobalt Blue. ROCK ON REX !!!!!!!
I'm definitely picking up a few of these acrylic cans next time I'm at Walmart. Thanks for the info, always appreciate how thorough you are.
Another great vid Rex. The brand name of the paint is Pintyplus and can be ordered online through walmart incase your local doesn't carry it. There are 18 colors on-line. As far as RAL is, it is an European color matching system which defines colors for paint, coatings and plastics. The RAL color standard is administrated by the RAL Deutsches Institut für Gütesicherung und Kennzeichnung. 'RAL' is the abbreviation of 'Reichs-Ausschuß für Lieferbedingungen und Gütesicherung'. I'm all over any new acrylics that would further the hobby. Should your "picker" choose this comment, please pick another. I don't build those kits. Others (or paints), I'll be all over it. 🙂 Have a great day.
Anyone have a durability update? Can't get locally, have to order through Home Depot. And not many color choices I like unfortunately.
Those Colorshot cans spray like an old car failing a smog test but man they lay down SMOOTH. That blue looks fantastic, like that Subaru blue!
Love how the Evo paints looked. Our Texas Walmart doesn't carry the line but several colors are available through Home Depot online order. Looking forward to trying a few colors. 🤘🏻
I wasn't a huge fan of spray cans for modeling at first. However, colored primers have really been changing my view and these look to continue that trend.
Well darn, I did not get to see the actual white...is it bright?, will it brush down & cover well?
I need a touch up white on top of my thick painted white that is a close match bright white.
Ok Did I really win your giveaway?? The reply doesn't show your channel name and I know you were mentioning something about being scamed so I just want to confirm.. Thanks
Always look forward to your vids! Super informative and entertaining!
Great video, will diffently have to look into getting the Pinty Plus acrylic paints! Thank you! 🏴☠
Judging by the amount of pigment coming out, it would seem these cans won't be cost effective for modeling. Unless they can be decanted of course.
There is a LOT of pigment being wasted here.
Hobby lobby is also selling acrylic spray paints, similar can design as the Evolution. Iron lak brand-name. The label says Acrylic Laquer. $5.99 a can sale price.
Definitely going tomorrow to my local Walmart. Thank you for the review. Your hard work is really appreciated.
The people in Brazil who built cars, already uses real automotive paints. Automotive polyester and acrylic (solvent) based paint. It works fine
Thanks for the showcase. How's the Evo (Pintyplus) for scratch resistance? Is it as good or better than solvent enamel?
Excited for you. Here is hoping you make 50k.
Super intrigued by the EVO line. Off to Wally World I go! Thanks for the great review!
Down here in Australia the common water-based spraycans are made by Montana colors (MTN) Dymark and Liquitex.
Have you seen any of those brands where you are? It would be awesome to see a review of them.
Great video. I always look forward to seeing your videos. Thanks for sharing. Happy days and model on! 😎🇨🇦
Love the crome color do you know a can that hace this dark silver glossy color? All in one
Not really but check out Krylon Foil spray paint. They have a chrome and gold
I have a friend that works for colorshot! that being said I do think the Evo looks better and I have never heard of a water-based spray paint. maybe I'll get them for my first custom paint job! Love your videos. always very informative.
Was not expecting the paint to shoot out that thick like that. I think I'll stick with airbrushing lol. I just built an EG RX78-2 and am blown away by the detail, I really want that Nu
Interesting demo...I'm using Krylon lacquer to refinish a bass guitar and it's goingn pretty well but the idea that I can have access to something with basically zero-smell would certainly make it easier in the senses. I have 2 Walmarts close by so I'm going to look and see what they have...
Thanks for the video! The Evo spray paints look like good value for the money, especially the blacks and primers to use as bases. However, not sure if they are sold through Walmart in Canada or not. Checked online and didn’t see them. If you or any of your followers knows and can reply, it would be appreciated.
That primer Tamiya combo is really nice. Do you imagine results would be similar if the Tamiya was airbrushed on?
Yes I believe it would look very close to this
Rattle cans scare me, once I went airbrushing I never went back, congratulations Sebby
Color Shot are popular with graffiti artists due to the coverage they provide. And the vibrancy. Most of the warm colors are nearly fluorescent
That jumpwind 02 looks great! I plan on ordering some of their paints along with some AoK next time I purchase thanks for the videos
sick sick colors
54 and have'nt won anything, ( worth anything.., ) "common daddy needs a new spraybooth"
There are sources for aftermarket spray can nozzles. Perhaps one of those might tame the pattern from the Colorshot products. Also, what if you shot some gloss clear as an intercoat between a black base and chrome? Worth a try? Interesting video; good job.
The coverage looks great, but I don't know that I would be comfortable using the acrylic cans indoors. They may have no smell, but they probably still aren't great to breathe in. I suppose with a booth it's probably fine, but once you have a booth, you probably have an airbrush, and then you don't really need them. So it seems the need for such a product is a bit limited. Probably the biggest benefit is that they won't react with plastics.
Definitely might look into the EVO paints. Seen them at wally world and had a "hmmmmm" moment lol. Had I guy at work telling me about all the new acrylic/ less solvent based stuff coming out that was actually really good. Looks like thats the case; no smell is a huge plus. He was also telling me about an acrylic 2K clear coming out that is a lot less toxic and easier to use which would be a game changer. Do the evo paints do well in a tape test? Thanks as always for all the awesome videos rex!
Great video. Hobby Lobby sells a line of acrylic spray paint--Lak. There seems like there are a descent number of colors. Have you tried them?
I saw your review on the jumpwind paint, and immediately ordered some. Can't wait to try them. Love the videos, please keep them coming.
The Alclad over the acrylic gloss black looks like it makes a pretty good black chrome. Thanks again for the great tests.
I love those EVO paints. Will be picking up those for sure.
Made my SO rewatch this video once I saw this pop up on my feed. He's starting to try to get me into building/painting minis.
Unfortunately spray cans put out far too much paint far to quickly for most modeling applications. If someone can use short fast triggering like you have it's not quite so wasteful but it's never going to get to airbrush utilization levels.
These would be perfect for those who don't have a paint booth, spray indoors, or don't want the toxicity that comes with solvent based paints. The issue though as with any aerosol is it lacks control like you would have with an airbrush and it also leads to wasted product because you are spraying product past the object that you are painting
Thank you for the video. So...the old rule to not paint lacquers on acrylics but only acrylics on lacquers is still useful!
Water based paints suck. Don’t work at all when using lacquers with it. Plus the colors just aren’t there.
Evo paint looks like a money saver!! Thanks Rex for the advice take care and enjoy your weekend!!
It’s great to see something that doesn’t smell. Really looking forward to the scribing tools. Thanks for all the time you put in. It’s always informative.
