I ask mother which keyboard she preferred amongst the Red and the Blue ones and she said, "The one that makes khat-khat sound."

ROG strix G15 has a motherboard dead issue. I purchased mine in june 2023, and few days back, it suddenly stopped turning on. To be precise, my laptop model is G513RM (r7 6800h, rtx 3060). This happened after the battery of the laptop fell to 0%(I was using my laptop on battery and had to go for a small task but returned after long time). I read about this online and there are various cases of ROG strix G15 not turning on after its battery dies while being in GPU mode. The battery of my laptop drained to 0% for the first time in a year mainly because I always used it plugged in or charged it as soon as it fell to 20%. Thankfully, I had taken the extended warranty for the laptop otherwise it would have costed me an arm and leg to get its motherboard replaced.

However, there are no issues while heavy gaming. The CPU seems to be capped at 90 degrees but I don’t think there are any issues or any frame drops due to that.

Wow for that a whole motherboard needs replacement! That doesn't sound right. If the battery is dead, maybe a force charge should have fixed it. This will always be a problem then, won't it. How do you plan to keep an eye out on the charge.

@@makingtechfriendly Battery isn’t the problem. The laptop turned on once after the issue and battery health was fine. However, once it turned on, it won’t shut down and restart again and again (so I closed the lid and kept it, and it was dead again the next morning). The technician checked the battery with voltmeter and then also there was no issue with battery, it was the motherboard that died(and he said it occurs because of voltage fluctuations, but all other devices are working fine in my house).
Update: Technician revisited on 30 July with replacement part(motherboard) and after replacing the part, the laptop still didn’t turn on. The new motherboard was faulty too. Now another replacement will be ordered so I have to wait some more time.

@@makingtechfriendly I think the issue is battery draining to 0% while in GPU mode when the laptop has been left idle for a while(and the battery supplies irregular voltage to the motherboard). But I am not sure. Should I try it again when the laptop gets repaired?
