This is a 1930 model of Russian Tola Tokarev. This pistol was very rusted and jammed badly.
we did sandblasting to remove hard rust and preparing surface for bluing. hot bluing process was perfect and end results was amazing. hope you will enjoy my gun restoration video.
I knew we had a true professional this time when he pulled out the steel punch and started hammering ithe rear sight to break the slide loose….
Agreed--it was painful to watch--so many needless amateur mistakes.
It’s to be expected from a channel that manufactures restoration situations, just to make videos.

If I had to guess it looks like he used a warm spray tank of some sort. That way you get the very even rust across everywhere.

Original TT33s don't have a safety. So you bought a new import and buried it in the garden for a week 😂 That's also the wrong way to remove a circlip It just pops off if you push on the split end. You also just completely fucked the firing pin retention by messing with that roll pin for no reason. Im also rather concerned that you just buffed the sharp edges off the locking fingers on the barrel so now you have poor lock up and a weapon with horrendous sloppy head spacing that could genuinely suffer case head seperation and spit brass at you upon firing.
It's a funny compilation. The safety bottom looks like Hungarian Tokagypt 58 made in Hungary for Egypt in a 9mm pair. 11 in an oval means that the top is a licensed version, manufactured in Poland in "Łucznik" in Radom. The PPS submachine gun (one of 4 places) and AK varieties up to Tantal/Beryl and PM Rack and Grot MSBS were produced here.
TT production in this plant lasted until 1956, the oval logo was minted from 1950. The grips are neither Hungarian nor Polish. They are Soviet with a star. It is not known how this little thing was created, it is not even known whether it shoots.
Amazing gun! It rusted evenly inside and out with no pitting or scaling. And not one small part rotted away or was broken. Russians are using some pretty special steel for sure.
I's not soviet/russian and is not 1930. It is Polish postwar production. Probably mid 1950's.
The barrel is ruined. There is no reason to "restore" it.
@@KavkazKislovodskalthough accuracy might have decreased, the barrel grooves are still intact you can catch a glimpse at 12:48

I priced a full scale restoration of a gun my dad got from is FIL, a cool old Winchester pump in .22S. Once the cost hit the $2,000 range I decided it would make a cool decor piece. Makes me wonder just how much money is made on UA-cam, although it’s no wonder you don’t see videos like “vintage Python restored”

First, start by dunking it in diesel for a day or two. The disassembly will go so much easier!
It's an excellent job

I’m a former 91F of the U.S. Army. I have a couple weapons while not rusted I still like to learn the fundamentals of restoration. That and jog some memories and spark that I once had back then. I like to know what equipment you use on the daily basis.
Now this is known as best steel
I recall that one of the survivors of the McDonald’s massacre saying that almost every gun owner is one bad day from being a mass shooter
It is a pity that at the very end you scratched the frame while assembling the retainer clip. With a small and thin piece of plastic you could have avoided it.

Thank you for letting me know what materials you used to blacken the parts
What is the name of the materials used to change the color of weapons?

Can you share the formula of the hot bluing solution. It gave a great finish.

These gun restorations are fascinating, but I'm curious about the barrels. Does firing the gun _after_ the restoration help clean the rifling of rust?
Good question. I wish someone answered. I have worked on guns my whole life and don't know this. Any time I've seen a barrel with rust it was bad enough that it needed replacing or destruction. Never had the opportunity to restore a rusted bore. I would expect firing the gun to remove the rust, because of the nature of rust and how it flakes off. I'm sure If it's strong rust though, it could cause severe leading of the barrel though. I've seen bores that had a lot of very minor pitting and the leaded up really bad... so I assume rust would do the same... although with pitting, the holes can be filled in by copper and other fowling to make it shoot like a good barrel without leading up. That is why sometimes it is a bad idea to clean an old barrel too well. You can remove the metals that fill in the dents and pits and that can lead to problems.
@@deucedeuce1572 It is dangerous to fire a rusted barrel, trust me.
It takes a particularly old gun to rust out a bore into uselessness. Now if you restore a lot of old guns you may see it quite a bit. Most guns with a chrome bore will outlast the owner and the elements by a considerable amount of time, additionally most bores have less exposure to elements as almost no one is foolish enough to store a gun with the bore down.
Unfortunately, the uniformity of rust on this gun is indicative of artificial rusting so I’m quite certain the bore is not needing much care or restoration.

aku suka 🥰😍🤩💗💗💗
All those "years of rust" no pitting..nothing in the metal.
How long did you really let it soak?
Biggest indicator for me was right at the beginning when the magazine was as rusted as the outside surface. It’s not open to elements so the rust shouldn’t be uniform inside and outside the gun. Plus the grips are both evenly degraded. If the gun was just lying around collecting rust, one side of the grips should demonstrate more extreme degradation due to exposure vs the side lying flat on a surface.
probably artificial rusting

You could have run the sides of the slide on a belt sander to smooth out the rust pits before bluing it. The same goes for the frame.
It seems that the Tokarev followers John Browning’s design pretty closely except for the caliber of the ammunition
Were those grips made of shaped lacquer? Or some kind of wood or animal horn?
I have a very hard time believing this is a 90+ y/o pistol. You also screwed up the bottom of the rear slide serration when you used that file. The punch you used on reassembly damaged the top of the slide. And you scratched the crap out of it when you used the punch again at the end.
It's a shame you used a file on the barrel grip, a Dremel would have done considerably less damage
Good job lakin hamber mechanism complete nai kholte dakhay
Not a single bit of pitting under the rust. How fortunate.
