Daughter of Discord: "The Battle Song" (Original Song)

- The composer, truesailorcomet, proposed a lot of songs for "Daughter of Discord." They were all great ideas, but unfortunately due to pacing and time constraints, they could not all fit into the story. This song, however, was one I immediately fell in love with! True had even put in some ideas for lyrics (such as "I loved you but you tossed me away") and I filled in the blanks. Usually, I propose a melody and True cleans it up a bit, but this melody was all True. Honestly, I think of all the songs we've done, this is the best example of our collaboration.

For anybody who has seen the full audio Drama, Screwball says that Fluttershy has a beautiful singing voice, but she doesn’t have a single solo or duet in the entire Audio drama. But Chrysalis does as Fluttershy
I swear this song still reminds me of "The Plagues/let my people go" from Prince of Egypt. It just gives me that feel. Otherwise, I love this song.

This song became my favorite piece from the entire DoD series as soon as I heard it the first time, and after listening to it several times...I only love it even more. Along with loving the melody in general, those references to episode 9 in BoD just pulled at my heartstrings. “Though I know love can make creatures do crazy things” and “I know what it’s like to be truly in love and have all of that taken; You will never know the feeling, so I will now end your misery” I felt for Discord and I was pumped up at the same time.

Just finished the series... But gosh damn! I'm going to put this song on repeat until I hate it. I freaking love this; you can literally feel the tension between Discord and Chrysalis in this phenomenal song...That's how powerful it is.
