Pegasus Device, and the rest of the Factory stories are, at their core, horror stories that depict a brutal, unflinching caste system disposing of those considered unwanted or "failures". Rainbow Dash is torn between her loyalty to Cloudsdale, and her genuine love for Scootaloo. She did everything she could to make sure she passed, and when that didn't work, and she saw her among that line-up of others to be destroyed in the Pegasus Device, it broke her. Completely and utterly, it destroyed her. Everything she did afterwards was a mare in denial, and it only strayed further into madness by the time the sequel story came about. Seeing Scootaloo die at the end of that story, again, broke whatever was left of her. Scootaloo "took back control" by going out on her own terms with the thunder and lightning containers, but in doing so she killed whatever was left of the old Rainbow Dash. I think that's reflected perfectly over the course of this video, as she grows more and more decrepit and broken, while also growing more and more alone, finally being completely shattered in those last few seconds before Hide grabs her. *Excellent work.*
I know this is a small detail but I love how at 1:51 you can see that Rainbow Dash doesn't have her tail colours AND her cutie mark. Her not having both gives this animation more layers. Since Rainbow Dash doesn't have her cutie mark, she doesn't have a destiny. She forgot what she's meant to do, so she blindly follows and continues to work at the factory, killing innocent fillies even though deep down she doesn't want to. It's a manipulation technique for the factory workers, so they can't leave and expose the factory for it's true colours. (No pun intended). Also, your AMV is very smooth and accurate to the story (Even though I don't know much of the grimdark itself). I'm very proud of you. 💖💖💖

I like your idea, but I don't think that's it. You can see in their other videos that the animator stylizes the cutie marks like that. This IS her cutie mark, though the cloud has turned gray, which is interesting. And just like mrimmri, I think she's just hiding her rainbow colors, so no one knows it's her. I guess you don't know the original creepypasta, but iirc, Rainbow can't be the one being manipulated by the factory owners... because SHE'S the boss. Still, loved your theorizing!
I think it's a similar case like with nightmare moon. Apparently the black on Luna's mark is a scar from when she was corrupted. I guess Your cutie mark and your destiny start to over take and overshadow you both metaphorically and psychically under certain circumstances. This case with it spreading throughout your body.
It’s a reference to the story. The factory workers coat their flanks and tails black/ grey to hide who they are. They also wear masks and coats that cover them to keep up the look and secrecy. It’s a good theory none the less!
the detail at 2:32 of a pegasus Ms. Harshwhinny is really cool also i really liked the symbolism at 3:51 of the pawn overtaking the queen. i could be overanalyzing, but we have the first layer of symbolism, with actual chess for the lyrics "bloody and visceral weather game of chess", which is literally just chess. then we have the second layer of symbolism: the pawn being the piece with the *least* movement options, representing scootaloo's own (physical) issues with flying, and the queen being the piece with the *most* movement options, since rainbow dash is the fastest flyer in all of equestria. and we have the final piece of symbolism: taking the queen doesn't win the game -- the factory will continue.

From what I remember, I think she failed because she was worried about Orion. However, I’ve only heard the audio version by the Lost Narrator, so I could be wrong.
She already was aware of that kid, since Scoots would bring him home to study him… in Rainbow’s factory, she describes him as a Cloudsdale Hater (trademark lol) - I think she guessed he wasn’t a good influence…
As we see in "Pegasus Device", she never really came to terms with the fact that she murdered her own sister. It was confirmed even more with the very old, geriatric Rainbow from "PD: Components: The Interview", when Cloud Cover interviewed her in some sort of high security hospital only a week before the events of "Reckoning" that it totally broke her to see that her little sister had failed the test (no matter the reason) and had to go the way all failures had to. For 20 years she thought that she had murdered Scoots, unaware that Dr. Atmosphere had kept her alive all the time in the MTR; only to see her die when she finally found out the truth.
Moments when Scootaloo has flashbacks of Rainbow Dash and her being friends makes this pmv even more hard-hitting and almost made me cry. This is awesome animation and I hope it'll go viral so does your channel)

It's awesome to see stuff from the other Rainbow Factory stories get some representation. The whole series is quite fun, even beyond the original, and seeing Scootaloo finally get a win over a Rainbow Dash, saving Cloud Cover in the process, is priceless.

Yep, I'd also say it is ^^ Representing a random character in the Old Factory, one of the workers of the Upper Factory having gone insane and sent down into the Old Factory (Upper factory consists of the Old and the New Factory, the new one was built after The Incident (original RF story) in the year 1010AN on top of the older one which suffered major damage during the events of The Incident. Workers of the Upper Factory in the year 1030AN (PD stroy) who had gone crazy were usually sent down into the Old Factory to do maintenance work at the maintenance-free systems... kinda were "disposed off" there. Surprise represents one of them here.

I’M BACK FROM AFTER WATCHING, IT’S SO SMOOTH OMG The emotions on Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo’s faces as they fight is so raw and pure, you really captured them well! And Doctor Hide’s design is so PRETTY-I can’t get over it 😭 Good things take time. This animation is proof of that. THIS BETTER BLOW UP
This whole animation is absolutely fantastic and very well done. The song is amazing as well. I can definitely see a few things for one I noticed that Luna was trapped in the moon in one scene, which means she was probably still banished at the time Rainbow Dash worked at the Rainbow Factory. It could also mean Rainbow Dash never met Twilight or her other friends at the time. Somewhere around 1:40 I saw the look on Rainbow’s face when she looked at a picture of herself and Scootaloo. It’s almost like a face of guilt and shame. She looked like she knew she had messed up. Another thing I have a theory about is the brown pony with the black mane (I have no idea who that is lmao) It looked like he forced Rainbow to put on this persona and turn into a completely different pony. Towards the end of the animation, it looked like Rainbow Dash was locked in on the persona so much, that she didn’t even know what she was doing. When she pinned Scootaloo down, I saw a look of realization on her face (obviously having flashbacks of Scootaloo when she was younger) I also noticed that when Scootaloo pulled the lever, she got hit by lightning. My theory is that she struck herself with lightning to either make her numb from the pain when she fell into the Pegasus Device, or she just knocked herself out so she wouldn’t have to experience it at all. Now, the look on Rainbow’s face at the end was truly heartbreaking.. she really did feel guilty and it shows. I adore this animation and the song. Amazing job on it 👏

I don't know why, but I think my favorite part is 1:29 to 1:31. I love the way Rainbow looks both annoyed and bored. Whatever "conversation" they're having has clearly happened a lot.
I love the subtle nod to Wooden Toaster, H8Seed, and BronyDanceParty who originally made and popularized the rainbow factory songs! And I'm glad to see that the fanbase I grew up with hasn't died out yet! Keep it up!
Also, I think it would be cool if you were to recreate "Awoken" by WoodenToaster and H8Seed as the next step in this story you're weaving. RainbowDash is haunted by her actions leading to the death of Scootaloo, and as a result, seeks a way to escape the facility. Just a thought though. Either way, I love your art style, and will continue to check in on what you post!

It's awesome to see stuff from the other Rainbow Factory stories get some representation. The whole series is quite fun, even beyond the original, and seeing Scootaloo finally get a win over a Rainbow Dash, saving Cloud Cover in the process, is priceless.

Representing a random character in the Old Factory, one of the workers of the Upper Factory having gone insane and sent down into the Old Factory (Upper factory consists of the Old and the New Factory, the new one was built after The Incident (original RF story) in the year 1010AN on top of the older one which suffered major damage during the events of The Incident. Workers of the Upper Factory in the year 1030AN (PD stroy) who had gone crazy were usually sent down into the Old Factory to do maintenance work at the maintenance-free systems... kinda were "disposed off" there. Surprise represents one of them here.

This whole animation is absolutely fantastic and very well done. The song is amazing as well. I can definitely see a few things for one I noticed that Luna was trapped in the moon in one scene, which means she was probably still banished at the time Rainbow Dash worked at the Rainbow Factory. It could also mean Rainbow Dash never met Twilight or her other friends at the time. Somewhere around 1:40 I saw the look on Rainbow’s face when she looked at a picture of herself and Scootaloo. It’s almost like a face of guilt and shame. She looked like she knew she had messed up. Another thing I have a theory about is the brown pony with the black mane (I have no idea who that is lmao) It looked like he forced Rainbow to put on this persona and turn into a completely different pony. Towards the end of the animation, it looked like Rainbow Dash was locked in on the persona so much, that she didn’t even know what she was doing. When she pinned Scootaloo down, I saw a look of realization on her face (obviously having flashbacks of Scootaloo when she was younger) I also noticed that when Scootaloo pulled the lever, she got hit by lightning. My theory is that she struck herself with lightning to either make her numb from the pain when she fell into the Pegasus Device, or she just knocked herself out so she wouldn’t have to experience it at all. Now, the look on Rainbow’s face at the end was truly heartbreaking.. she really did feel guilty and it shows. I adore this animation and the song. Amazing job on it 👏

Also, I think it would be cool if you were to recreate "Awoken" by WoodenToaster and H8Seed as the next step in this story you're weaving. RainbowDash is haunted by her actions leading to the death of Scootaloo, and as a result, seeks a way to escape the facility. Just a thought though. Either way, I love your art style, and will continue to check in on what you post!

@@PhilCAnimate literally done animation assignment with the program and completely crashed and glitches out for me it kinda frustrated me hence why I learn how to sue different programs like procreat or clip studio paint since I fit like Adobe as excessive error I had endure Adobe is now my enemy just based of my experience using it 😞😭
