Ik just watched an old video of his and the care of his geckos was absolutely horrible so I was looking to see if his care had finally improve but clearly not very much
True and they don't care about going on high spots. They aren't bearded dragons. My gecko is 15 years old and has lived on repticaret forever. You can see a clip on my page.
some VERY recommended tips! Do not use eco earth for your geckos, it can impact them if digested, also it is too humid and if it is dried out it can still hurt your geckos, also cohabitating has no benefits other than for your entertainment. and lastly, you need to put a calcium dish, get more hides because 2 is not enough (plus your humid hide is on the warm side and not in the middle which it should be) at least 3 for the humid, cool, and warm and then you also need a basking spot (yes i understand this was 3 years ago but still)

Fishy’srule 101 it’s not completely wrong to have two leopard geckos in a cage. In his case with a female and male it definitely is not a good idea but when you have two females it’s acceptable. Rebecca doesn’t completely go against having two geckos in one cage she just probably wouldn’t recommend it.
AVFighter Dill yea but still, in the perspective of the person they were talking about, Leopard Gecko (Rebecca), two females can be accepted under certain terms. They said that she says to not ‘cohab reptiles’ but i’m pretty sure her opinion on that is that it can be accepted.
My leopard geckos are 15 years old. By the way make sure they have a dry side lepoerd geckos don't like a lot of humidity. They can get respiratory infections and or mouth rot

i love the tank! btw you don’t need to spray the tank down if the substrates still moist because you don’t want the tank to get too humid the moist hide will be enough for them. love your vids❤️
@@floatzy1959 first off "two" is a number. What you're looking for is "too", which means "also". Secondly, not sharing every little thing with the world isn't lying. @Akina Studios "alot" isn't a word. It's "a lot". I don't agree with how he's setting this up, but you'll be hard pressed to find only one right way to keep reptiles healthy. They DO NOT need a moist environment. That’s why you ONLY have a humid hide, it’s for when they shed, that ONE part is humid, the rest is dry. They live in dry rocky areas..NOT HUMID!

Please please do more research on these guys!! They shouldn’t be in high humidity, they shouldn’t be misted either. They shouldn’t be on loose substrate, and since there are two of them (which isn’t great either) there should be plenty more hiding and climbing space + foliage), your heat mat should cover 1/3 of the tank. i don't think the substrate will need to be super damp, it can cause some issues. and i also highly recommend a thermometer with a probe, which actually measures the temperature of the ground instead of the surrounding area! i'm also sorry to be bugging you so much, but a thermostat to regulate the heat mat temperature is very important if you do not have one. and i know you have heard about co-hab many times, and i also cannot agree with housing a male and female unless you are a breeder, because the female might get stressed when breeding season comes, and at some point he'll start to annoy her and make her angry- as it probably happened before since you've owned them for years now
Something like Eco Earth Arid or coconut fibre(dry) with play sand, vinyl it has to be non- adhesive or for a more sterile substrate you can use paper towel. Do not use Calci sand or pure sand etc. It is a myth however that all loose substrate will cause impaction. Big food or pore husbandry will cause impaction Hope this helped:) The channel Leopard Gecko did a great video on this subject
All loose substrates can cause impaction. Though you can use it in the lay box. I recommend excavator clay if you like the more “natural” look, it’s much safer. If you’re going to use eco earth I recommend going full bio active with live plants and clean up crew but of course your husbandry HAS to be on point for any loose substrates. You’re on the right track though lol
eco earth actually has low a low impaction risk, if any at all. And this is coming from someone who has 8 geckos on it and they are all healthy and strong.
The tank is fine, I would have gotten a front opening one since geckos have predators that come from above so to avoid stress. You should connect the heating pad to a thermostat. Leos come from an arid environment, you do not need to spray them down, humid hide is enough.
