so i have a leopard gecko it hasnt quite found out that when my hand goes in it means i want some social time but it loves to eat its good at hunting and its doing well
I just got a leopard gecko two weeks ago, and I am so happy with my decision. She has finally recognized me as "Food Beast" instead of " Scary Predator." She still gets spooked once in a while, but she knows if the door is open and I'm hovering, delicious buggies will soon follow.
@@anglewillams1009 Do it! She has been nothing but a source of joy in my life since I got her. She's quite used to me now, though her individual personality is a bit introverted. If she is not in the mood to interact, she will just turn around and walk away. However just as often, she is willing to walk up onto my hand and lets me hold her. I'm now "Food Beast/Climbing Gym." ❤️
@@anglewillams1009 I highly recommend!! My leo always comes out when me or my mom comes into the room and smiles, he runs around at night and it's so fun to watch. It's amazing how much personality a lizard of his size can have 🥰
I’m saving money to get a tank, and I alredy have 2/3 hides, a water bowl, decor, food bowls, and 1/3 items for substrate!! Your making me so excited!!!!
Another good way to give your Leo some exercise and entertainment is to cover the floor and drain of a clean bathtub with a bath mat or towel. Can add something to climb on if you like (towel draped over box or just another jumbled up towel). Leo can’t climb tub walls but can run/walk/explore while you brush your teeth, etc. Any enclosed space with no (even tiny) escape routes can work.
I got scared when I tried to feed my leopard gecko with dubia roaches and the roach climbed away from the bowl and started running around my table and I screamed. That was kinda terrifying
@@kennleyjean5055 I’ve kept crickets ONCE and they all died so I decided that they were not for me… 😅 My gecko didn’t even eat the two I offered to her. She’s picky!
Honestly, I'd switch from coco fiber to Reptisoil if you can find it. Coco fiber can be very dusty when dry, and cause excess humidity when wet. Reptisoil is less dusty, and can hold on to moisture if you need. I use it my humid hide, because I've been told that if your gecko ends up eating sphagnum moss, it can cause impaction. I like dropping insects in to let my gecko hunt without supervision unless she's refusing food a the time. Sometimes my crickets and dubias end up in the humid hide, so I figured it best to put Reptisoil in there as well so that she doesn't accidentally eat some. But then again, it looks like you supervise your gecko a lot more so the moss might be fine for your case. Also I heard you're not supposed to gut load your feeders with peppers; it's just something everyone in the community says so... I just never do. But I like the tile. I'm a huge fan of tile in gecko enclosures. And not to mention your hide setup and decorations look great. I suppose if you wanted you could include a bit more verticality for enrichment, but it looks like he has plenty to climb on. I don't know why this comment turned into an unsolicited tank review, but I felt like it was important after I ripped on coco fiber and sphagnum moss. Figured I should clarify that I don't hate it or anything.
hey Daniel, appreciate the feedback! I'll have to look into it. nothing wrong with sharing your experiences ;) and I love getting constructive comments like this!
Hello fish for thought or should I say Chris I’ve been watching ur vids for the past year Evan the turtle girl I’ve been watching ur vids for a very long time now hope both of u ar staying healthy😁❤️
@Dhanvanth Kesavan not turtle girl but i need you to listen very carefully: most reptiles dont like being in groups or even pairs, theyre solitary until breeding season when they do the do and leave. The only way you could possibly have two red eared sliders- even if theyre opposite genders and you are ok with the possibility of them breeding - you gonna need a HUGE enclosure for them to sorta have their own teritory or get away spot. Also you tell the gender by their front claws and tails: longer male shorter female. Also females are bigger size than males so require bigger enclosures Unless you have a baby then you need to wait for them to be older
@Dhanvanth Kesavan also important thing to know: if you do in fact want to have two turtles, female pairs will have the lowest amounts of agression, it still can happen, just not as likely as two males.
Your gecko looks just like mine. His name was Leo, he sadly passed away a few weeks ago. But I’ve never seen another leopard gecko like him until now. What a cute boy.

Assuming you mean mealworms, keep in mind that they’re not healthy for their main diet and should make up no more than 25% of their diet. Live crickets, roaches, silkworms, and black soldier fly larvae can be fed regularly. Mealworms, super worms, and hornworms can be fed occasionally. The more variety in their diet, the better.

@@imperialwalker no,the Jedi never told me
@@andrewchoi9544 It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life... He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic he could save others from death, but not himself.'
