Thankyou so much for sharing. Im a collector of Sharon as well. I wanted to share that Sharon was scent sensitive and only wore perfume when out. She loved using the brown Max Factor eyeliner on her lip with vaseline. She often did her own makeup for photo shoots. She invented the banana look. The dark brown banana shape in the crease. She loved going barefoot or she wore real ballet slippers. She had them in delicate ballet pink most often but also black. She spray painted a pair red for a dress. She didn't like rings. She loved tiny glass beads and earrings. She loved to smoke cigarettes and hid it from Roman. They met in 67. And despite having an iud in place got pregnant in November of 68. She wanted a natural birth. She was reading books on lamaze. She enrolled Roman in a birthing class that sadly started the day of her funeral. He was due home that Monday and they were so excited to see each other again. She had the nursery painted the morning before the murders the windows were open it was a heatwave and the paint odor was strong. She lived in a beautiful french country ranch her love house she called it. She had linens for the nursey picked out little yellow birds a print. Baby clothes tucked away in her armore and a bassinet wrapped in plastic sat on top of her dresser patiently waiting. Her mama the week before hand delivered a wooden rocking chair that Doris rocked all 3 of her babies in. It sat in the room Sharon and Jay lost their lives in. She was a beautiful woman but her heart was far more beautiful.
Yiga Lord Banette thanks for sharing with us. Sharon died when I was 9 or 10, my bday is Aug 15. I remember how shocked everyone was during this time. I’m sad I don’t know enough about Sharon, and I’m sad about the whole thing. The 60’s were a horrible time for this country.

Sharon Tate was in the first graduating class of Irvin High School in El Paso, Texas. That's my old alma mater too, but I graduated 10 or so years after her. She was beautiful.
She was so lovely. Thank you for honoring her memory in this unique way. As a professional makeup artist, I have always said that one's beauty products tell a true story about their owner! They speak of our most vulnerable yet very important possession, our egos!
She was unbelievably beautiful, sometimes I see photos of her and think they’re from today. She really was timelessly beautiful, cool and alluring. Shocking what happened to her 😖
I love how you took a classic, tragic beauty and focused on her beauty, not the tragedy! Do you think you could do one for Dorothy Stratten? Her glamorous, poiniant, tragic story and her vintage beauty reminds me a lot of Sharon Tate! 💄🌸
When I watched 'Once Upon A Time in Hollywood' and the Playboy party scene came up, I thought of Playmate Dorothy Stratten also being an actress who was killed unjustly - a revisionist movie of her life like Sharon Tate in OUATiH is perhaps out there for someone to make!
My favorite Sharon Tate movie is "Eye of the Devil", a black & white thriller with David Niven & Deborah Kerr, about ancient pagan rituals in contemporary France. She's just stunning as a mysterious witchy woman.
My late Momma wore Chanel 5. My one indulgence, several years ago, was to buy a bottle of Guerlain L’Heure Bleue, which was allegedly Jean Harlow’s favorite perfume. It was outrageously expensive, but I felt special wearing it. Sharon was so beautiful, she didn’t deserve her fate.

Touched my heart with the Guerlain perfume as they have gone back to that bottle style and reintroduced "Jicky", the first Guerlain fragrance. She was an incredible beauty and naturally gorgeous inside and out. I prefer to remember the fresh, classic style of Sharon Tate and not her tragic death. May she rest in peace. Thanks for sharing!
I have two of the lipsticks from that Yardley Collection, with that packaging, but not in mint condition. Different shades, though. One of the shades looks greenish now, like a golden metallic sheer with a faint greenish overcast, but I am fairly sure that color has turned. The other is more of a coral. There is some great packaging from the sixties and seventies, especially of lipsticks/lipglosses, that were packaged to project a fresh, modern image, I think to appeal especially to a younger teenage to young adult market. They make very pretty collector's items.
Omg I can’t believe they had facial steamers back then. I think she had the best makeup from that era like she was doing a natural glam smokey eye with a nude lip before anyone.
Definitely agree. Yes, to the Bonne Bell, and also Maybelline Blooming Colors Eyeshadow, Cornsilk powder, and Loves Soft Lemon perfume! Sharon Tate's perfumes were out of most price ranges. We tended to go for Coty products: L'Origan, Emeraude, L'aimont, and then Loves Baby Soft, Fresh Lemon, plus all the musks: Coty Wild Musk, Jovan Musk, LOL..... 60's-70's....Oh, White Shoulders was another
@@paulastrachan4053 Oh Paula if only Coty hadn't been sold. I'd so love to have Cyphre, and the ORIGINAL version of L'Origan. One of my favorite scents ever. Coty was great
I remember those Yardley lipsticks! I think my sister had some, though I was too young for makeup at the time. I wish I still had one! I think they go for several hundred dollars new on E-Bay.
Love Sharon Tate, she’s definitely a perfect example of the California girl. This was before Botox and surgery. She was born that way. There has never been an actress who could fill her shoes playing her. Margo Robbie has come the closest.
Being born in 1964, you might think that being only 5 years old at the time, I wouldn't remember much about Sharon Tate. However, my sister was 16 years older than me and was a beautiful blonde who resembled Ms. Tate. She was also married and gave birth to my niece in August 1969, so the similarities were talked about quite a bit. I'm very glad you gave her a really positive short film focus where her life is celebrated, not her death. Not to be judgmental, but even the mention of the way she died could have been forgone. All in all, it was a very respectful and fun video that remembered 2 lives cut short and unfulfilled. I'm sure she is happy she is still inspiring beauty and fashion today.
@@Tenebarum I'm definitely a Tarentino fan, but I must have missed this movie. Can you tell me which movie this was? Thanks and thank you for your kind words!
Yardley of London line of eye shadow and lip products were so nice. The cologne was a violet based yummy smell. I loved all the products and was so sad they discontinued the line. Ah memories.
Wow, does this bring back memories. I used the same London Look lipstick. When I saw the design work on the lipstick case, exactly the same. Always had one in my handbag. Thanks for bringing back my teen memories!
ProudKansan08 No, They do make a “full size” one, and it’s just huge! Of course the ingredients are unfortunately not the same as the Thirties, but still a effective product.
Mollie Tenpenny ... I remember that. I googled to see how many episodes she was in and it was 15. She was always in a short brunette wig and her name was Janet Trego. I remember they didn’t want her real hair to be used because she would have been too recognizable. 🍃💜🍃✨
A couple of years ago, I was pulling an all nighter, cleaning my house, and the Beverly Hillbillies was on, and I just happened to glance up and see a brunette woman talking to Miss Jane, and I thought, she looks so familiar, and went about cleaning some more, and then I stopped about ten minutes later and sat down to finish watching the episode, and she was in one or two more scenes and I kept thinking she looked familiar, and then, I thought, THAT'S SHARON TATE!!!!!!!!!!! I had forgotten that she was on that show, and I guess I always missed the episodes she was on, and besides, when that show was on, I wasn't even in gradeschool yet, so, I didn't realize a lot of people who were on the show that went on to bigger things at that age, but, read Helter Skelter in 1975 that she was on the show with a black wig, and sure enough, on the credits, I saw her name. I thought she looked very pretty with very dark hair (wig), red hair (wig),or her dyed blonde hair, but, didn't think her natural hair color did her much justice, but, that's my humble opinion.
Great video, and brought back memories. I was the youngest of three girls, born in 1960, so older sisters caught me into fashion and makeup at a younger age. Sharon Tate was stunning, and considered a bit "wild" in her personal life...the Manson murders were horrific. Her hubby Roman Polaski, had/has a predilection for underage girls - he did marry Sharon, though. Others you could look at copying.....Marisa Berenson, Karen Graham, Cristina Ferrare, Cheryl Tiegs. They were every where! Being dark haired, my style muse in high school was Linda Ronstadt - she was stunning! big brown eyes, flower in her hair, big hoop earrings, and a stack of silver bracelets up her arm. Stevie Nicks would be fun to do - her late 60's early 70's looks! Even her 80's "Gypsy" look would be fun. Go for some of the dark haired models, please! Marisa and Karen, even Cristina....Thanks!!!
This must have been what was left over because Debbie Tate has all of Sharon's tried and true makeup that she wore every day. I've never known for any of Sharon Tate's things to be sold on Ebay.. only select things of hers had been sold in a physical auction. Most items were all clothing.
Sharon was stunning - lovely tribute. She met and starred with Polanski on Fearless Vampire Killers, one wacky movie. I remember using Yardley Slicker lipsticks. They came in very ususal colors for the times: very pale, frosted, almost translucent white, yellow, blue, green, pink, orange, beige. Most teen girls had them, Twiggy modeled them, and our moms were appalled at such non-shades for lipsticks. It was the London mod look along with liquid black iridescent eyeliner.
Nice investment in those vintage pieced Laura- I'm sure you'll take care of them. It was nice to see how the late Ms. Sharon Tate glam med up so long ago. Rip sweet lady Ms. Tate 🕊 ( Natalie 🌸 )
I remember the wonderful smell of Yardley Lip Gloss! Mmmm! I have never smelled that smell before, and I would love to know what the ingredients are. Bonnie Bell 10-0-5 astringent is another wonderful wonderful smell that I have never smelled before or since.
Great video! I loved Yardley lipsticks and makeup since I used to wear them when I was a teenager. I can't believe that they sell for that much on ebay!!
She was a looker..whenever i use products another person has used it does make me feel connected to them..i think she would have liked this video, being remembered for her beauty and self care, one of the most feminine and personal things are a womans beauty "rituals"..
Amazing video! I am a huge fan and collector of Sharon Tate. I actually own one of her mini dresses from the Julien’s Auction. This is a wonderful tribute to Sharon and obviously very well researched. I have some but not all of these items and now I’m determined to track down what I’m missing! By the way, the woman on the sauna ad is not Sharon but I can see the resemblance. As far as I know, the only beauty product that she modeled for is Coppertone Sunscreen in conjunction with her role as Malibu in the 1967 film “Don’t Make Waves”. Anyway, I love your channel and will keep watching! 👏👏👏
Been a big fan of Sharon for many years. It's strange that for years Debra Tate said Sharon was allergic to perfumes and hated them. Suggestion for two stars a little unusual are Carol Burnett and Barbara Hale, ( she played the secretary on Perry Mason)
@@Laurajaneatelier have you never watched the old Perry Mason shows? They were actually quite good. Excellent plots without showing the actual gore as some modern lawyer dramas do. Today, a woman as smart and savvy as the Della Street character would not be playing a secretary/girl Friday. She would be a fellow lawyer!
Me too and I always went by Deb saying Sharon was scent sensitive. I guess she only wore perfume occasionally, No 5 and Jicky extrait were two challenging choices, I love them both but they are strong! Maybe she just wore a little for events. xx
OMG such a great vid and that coat Sharron wore in Once upon a time in Hollywood ! lol I wanted that coat so bad! and now iwant that Jicky parfume . She was stunningly beautiful. And she seemed to be so sweet in personna .Thank you for the vid!

Wow that’s so cool you were at the auction!! I actually did a Marilyn Monroe video and Audrey Hepburn but I bought the new version of the products they loved. It is hard finding their actual estates online. The research for the Sharon Tate video was easy because I could just search for it on the website. Is Marilyn Monroe also on the Same auction site?
I loved the video, well done! I just wanted to say with the Guerlain Jicky, if you get the chance to try the pure parfum extrait, it’s gorgeous and what Sharon used to wear. It’s much nicer than the edt or edp versions, in fact, I can’t wear the edp as it’s too animalic for me.
I was so curious about Guerlain’s (1889) Jicky. I’m very familiar with “Shalimar” from 1921 because my late mom loved oriental/spicy scents. I picked up a probably reformulated version than “original” bottle off Amazon recently. I hope it’s just as lovely as the old Hollywood starlets from the past who wore it👃🏻🤩😉
How about her eyelashes and mod eye-makeup? I would love to see a video where you do her makeup and show her vintage cosmetics--not using the actual vintage makeup, of course, but dupes for them.
Im glad you did something positive about Sharon it is not fair a beautiful soul is alway remembered with that awful person.

She was a looker..whenever i use products another person has used it does make me feel connected to them..i think she would have liked this video, being remembered for her beauty and self care, one of the most feminine and personal things are a womans beauty "rituals"..
Hi please could you do a video on Olivia Newton John, before Grease her look and hair style when it was light brown in the early 70s please
Ok sure I will look her up
Yes, please. Olivia was so beautiful when she was young.
i absolutely everything vintage.
vintage beauty products look so fancy 😍
Looks like all those beautiful women used that black Erno Laszlo face soap. I just recently saw someone purchasing that at Nordstrom
It's made with Dead Sea mud and charcoal.
@Ed Miller You are just too too funny.
@Ed Miller if not your meds time for a cocktail. Two perhaps. You must be a blast at a dinner party. Remind me not to attend. Bye troll.
@@kathleennorton6108 thats fashionable now
@@celesteadeanes4478 I have a hand lotion made with Dead Sea salts. It has an amazing quality of being able to attract and hold moisture.
Please, make a video about Elizabeth Short, the Black Dahlia.
I love Sharon so much! 🤍
How beautiful to collect her favorite vanity items.
Such a beautiful channel and entertaining. It was recommended and I am enjoying it.
Did you end up using the saunda? Bought one recently while thrifting for 4.99 working condition !!
Excellent!!💖 Very beautiful Sharon and good human and beautiful video!! 🎀 THANK YOU Laura Jane.
Don't forget to follow me on Instagram and say hello:) instagram.com/dahliasintheattic/
Let me know which vintage celebrity I should do next!
I know right?! She was beautiful
I don't know but I love what you're doing with this series! I knew none of this about her and I'm happy to learn!
Thank you, so glad you are enjoying this series
Brigitte Bardot!! If I haven't asked for this already??💕💓
Gina Lollobrigida would be nice, too.
Been a big fan of Sharon for many years. It's strange that for years Debra Tate said Sharon was allergic to perfumes and hated them. Suggestion for two stars a little unusual are Carol Burnett and Barbara Hale, ( she played the secretary on Perry Mason)
Thanks for watching I actually haven’t heard of those two people but I will look into it. Thanks for the suggestion
Oh interesting ok I’m going to check it out thank you
Me too and I always went by Deb saying Sharon was scent sensitive. I guess she only wore perfume occasionally, No 5 and Jicky extrait were two challenging choices, I love them both but they are strong! Maybe she just wore a little for events. xx
@@LadyGHorses I feel like you don't need much. But yes they are strong
Sharon was a beautiful woman. This is so awesome.
She was so iconic ❤️
Just discovered your channel! It was on my recommended list. Omg I’m going to have to binge all of your videos!!
Your videos are always so beautifully done. Thank you for sharing all these beautiful products with us :-)
OMG such a great vid and that coat Sharron wore in Once upon a time in Hollywood ! lol I wanted that coat so bad! and now iwant that Jicky parfume . She was stunningly beautiful. And she seemed to be so sweet in personna .Thank you for the vid!
She met Polanski in 1967, where she worked with him in his movie, "The Fearless Vampire Killers," in which he co-starred.
Yes I recall reading that I need to see that movie
@@katesleuth1156 throw him out of the Country.
Thanks so much for sharing this info about Sharon Tate. Love the book! Hope you do more videos like this. Maybe Audrey Hepburn or Elizabeth Taylor. :)
Thanks lovely I actually just did an Audrey and a Marilyn one. I think Elizabeth Taylor might be next ❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing. The facial steamer had caught my eye on another video, and I wondered exactly what it was?!
I envy you being able to have some of her personal items. I can only wish.
Thank You.
I remember the yardley lipsticks...
And Mary Quant :)
My mom had a facial steamer when I was growing up- loved it!
I still have one and directions say to add salt to water. She didn't add salt I wonder if she should of done that.
Jicky, used it in the 70s very expensive, just like Joy. You are my kind of girl.
Sadly Sharon Tate will always be remembered in the way she died as opposed as the way she lived and what a good decent person she was by all accounts😔
Thank you for sharing! She was a stunning woman, almost like a painting. Isn’t the Recollection book wonderful?
Also, I love your hair! 💕
Thanks so much ❤️ I know I love that book too the pictures are beautiful
Yes, to all of the above. And in "Wrecking Crew" and "Fearless Vampire Killers" she wore wigs and falls in "Valley of the Dolls" and her own wedding.
YARDLY WAS THE THING ,in the 60s💋
I was at the auction. I took many photos and did videos of it all. Love this. Consider Marilyn Monroe or Farrah Fawcett next time.
Thanks for watching I think I didn’t get the parfum extract because it was twice the price but I bet it smells amazing ❤️❤️
Thank you so much for honoring Sharon, such a lovely thing to do up. I really enjoy your content . Blessings to you😙🌹💟🌹😙
I was so curious about Guerlain’s (1889) Jicky. I’m very familiar with “Shalimar” from 1921 because my late mom loved oriental/spicy scents. I picked up a probably reformulated version than “original” bottle off Amazon recently. I hope it’s just as lovely as the old Hollywood starlets from the past who wore it👃🏻🤩😉
Rip mrs sharon tate....may you have a rest in peace😪
Thank you for doing this and sharing this with us. She was so amazing ❤️
Thanks so much for watching
in am a sucker for old perfume myself
My mom has always worn Chanel number 5. Every time I see it I think of her. Lovely collection!
My mother used this face steamer and it worked great
Love the facial steamer! I use one myself for years!💗😊
I adore Sharon Tate.
She was stunning! A look that is timeless in my opinion
How about a video on Sandra Dee's or Annette Funicello's favorite beauty products?
How about her eyelashes and mod eye-makeup? I would love to see a video where you do her makeup and show her vintage cosmetics--not using the actual vintage makeup, of course, but dupes for them.
I just did a video on that last week. Let me know your thoughts
Love the video! What is the song playing in the background called? :)
She was beautiful in everything she did in her life ,
thank you for this video, a suggestion for another video would be Natalie Wood unless you did one on her already
I had an identical tube of Slicker as a young teen.
