If you're chipping all the paint away, I would leave the walls bare and make your floors as pristine as possible with some beautiful, colorful, large vases with plants and artwork
I would leave the tin exposed but add white wainscoting along the bottom. The plus side is you (Phillip) will only have to scrap the top half🤣 The contrast in colors would pop!
I was looking at Beauti tone. I love their color of the year! Dancing in the Rain - a beautiful sky blue. Also the yellow below on the color chart would be lovely in your kitchen with pops of the blue! After all the English Family has learned to dance in the rain! #whatdayisit?
Just watching a channel where the do sand blasting to remove the paint without damaging the tin tiles. Not sure what the cleaning up would be like afterwards but would certainly save a lot of time...loving the content 🤩
Very pale blue -aqua. Very ethereal and welcoming. Happy Mother's Day! I love being a mom too! My children are all grown so yes, the time goes so quickly. 💕🤟
Agree Bianca. Southern Hemisphere vibes. NZ girl here and suggestions of the green paint are ..........making me ......well.......green. 🤮. Such a lovely family don’t you think? They Deserve more subs.
Happy Mother's Day. I walked through a home once that had your entryway exactly! The tin was not painted and the stairs were a rich mahogany color the same color you see where the runner used to be. All color came from the decorating which was a 20s theme.
Hello from Chicago USA! I love your house. Keep living the dream. The original tin color is beautiful! I think you should keep unpainted, if possible. So unique and there are plenty of other walls to paint.
Cream walls with light blue wash over the raised area. Like a soft dry brush. I love the family and glad you jumped into the deep end of life! Abandoned house, sight unseen! Yikes! Can’t wait till tomorrow!! Happy Mother’s Day!
Yes I think a light tint of whitish green almost the color of oxidized copper only lighter for the tins in the foyer and stairway wall. Maybe sea foam as is popular for the Atlantic coast. And definitely a small crystal 1920 foyer chandelier. But that is only my color choice. My husband vetoed me on my interior with a light bluish gray on our interior. And it is perfect. The sunlight bounces off the walls making them look like we have larger rooms. Without the usual boring white of our last house.
I loved that blue you did in your other house going up the stairs from the kitchen 😃 Happy Mothers Day to you Elysia💐 You should use the bedroom that’s now the master into a craft room and knock out a wall to make a bigger master bedroom, since the top of the stairs going into your master bedroom are kinda weird lol I don’t do tik tok lol
The Hallway is stunning ... I would go with a calming / warm pale Blue/Grey .. and a vertical stripe Carpet runner on stairs ... then White and Blue accents ... decor pieces xx cannot wait to see the transformation 😍😍😍
You guys are so good to us!!! A video everyday this week?? Yes please and thank you!!! If you are inspired by your coastal surroundings, and you want your entry to be a warm welcome to guests, I would look into some warm sand tones to play off the woodwork.
I’ve followed you forever, and never commented. I’m so so so excited to see what you do to that amazing house! I would love to see a blue in a cornflower blue range
I absolutely love your foyer. But please wear a mask when removing old paint. The lead isn’t healthy for any of you. How about just rust removal treating those tin tiles & sealing them?
Not sure if it's possible but I would try to restore the tin walls and roof in the front entrance to it's original state. But I love old homes and love keeping everything as it originally was when it was built. That's the whole character of the house. To many homes look the exact same nowadays and has no real charm or character to it. Since the 80s have passed, everyone had to have the exact home ( keeping up with the Joneses ) older homes are so neat, none are alike in any way. Idk that's just me
My Baby will be 40 this year!!! Talk about the years going by soooo quickly!!!! I love being a Mom so much!!! Love how you get so mushy about your boys... i am the same way!!! I can not even look at their baby pictures... because all I do is cry!!!😳. God Bless You and your beautiful family!!! Happy Mothers Day!!!
So agree, 43,41 and 38. I still call the youngest my baby😍. Seeing youngsters like this family getting on and prospering through hard work is wonderful. They deserve their success.Positive roles for others.
🌺🌺🌺 HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY 🌺🌺🌺 I could not imagine myself as adult without a daughter. I had her when I was 22. She is now 33 and could never imagine herself as a mom. I couldn't either. I had her little brother when she was 12. He just turned 21. He told me when he was 5 that he was going to have kids. Now he says that he will be glad to give me grandkids - some day! No rush, son! 😆
Happy Mother's Day Elysia!!! And I feel like you should stick with a Black and White theme and maybe strip the stairs natural for easy cleanup. I feel like every time you paint something a different color it ends up white again anyway... 😂
Butter color for entry BUT BUT BUT What is your home color scheme??? 👍👍That resting ladder Phillip is using MUST have come with the home! Y'all are too funny!!!
I agree leave the tins in their original state and just seal them. I agree really do what the roaring 20s design would have been. Do NOT paint the walls in foyer!
That blue you did on the walls of the stairway at your old place is my favorite color! Could you please make longer videos? 13 minutes just flies by. 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🥰❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Those tin tiles! OMW! Depending what it looks like when all scraped, I'd probably keep them natural, in my dream home. I'd do the color on the ups of the stairs instead ❤
At little tip I learned from a lovely carpenter friend. Store your doors as vertically as possible. He saw ours leaning on the wall and immediately put them as close to the wall as possible without them falling down. He said they warp just enough that they won't be straight in the door when they're hung back up. LOVE your channel! Happy Mother's Day! Your boys are that wonderful due to how you're raised them(and Phillip, of course).
I have Candlelight Yellow in my living room and Egg nog the rest of the mobile home, when the sunshine comes into the mobile home it is very bright. Happy Mother's Day from Northern British Columbia.
I love the entry way, you're right it has a lot of character. I can see the entryway in a soft light ocean blue. You are so lucky with the tinwork, it's beautiful. My son turned 45 and my daughter turned 33 this year. Time flies by so fast. Enjoy every minute of it. You can never have enough pictures and home movies to remember the times that have passed. 🥰
That pic nic basket is worth money at least 2 hundred bucks in Los Angeles. It’s vintage. I wanted one but when I saw the cost I changed my mind lol. Your house is a dream ❣️
The soft green on the stairs is gorgeous and would blend with almost any other colour...I wish your video's were longer lol, I get so involved with what your doing that it feels like they fly by.
Awww how awesome for you to encourage all the “moms” to take time for themselves. I vote for a sea blue , dark teal color on the Tin tiles with a copper colors distressed over to show the design
I am so excited for y’all! I love it! ❤️ I am 58 years old, mother of four girls. I LOVED renovating old homes. I’m looking for my next and last ( well maybe🤷♀️😂) forever home! I cannot wait to see all the love that y’all put into your new home. All my love from Ft Worth, Texas 🤠 USA 🇺🇸
Honeysuckle flower, soft yellow, or pale beach sun yellow. It will keep the space very large and look great with easy-to-care-for white trim. It will look great with blue-green or orange-red accents depending on the season,. We love your adventure, E & P, you are a star decorator and great spirits! We know it will look great no matter what you choose.
My vote is a blue/green, loving BM Aegean Teal just trying to incorporate it somewhere here (our house is totally coastal themed, clearly we miss NB). But I’d also try to keep the ceiling the natural tin.
This is the first time I've seen your show, and I was so excited for you to have a REAL 1920's HOUSE!!! How cool is that? I love your enthusiasm, and I love these old houses! I subscribed, and I watched a couple more episodes. Your husband is so very likable too. Glad I found your channel :-)
I have really enjoyed watching your family’s projects and now travels. When I think of Nova Scotia, I think of the poem, “Evangeline, a Tale of Acadia.” That poem has always stayed with me from high school literature. Well wishes in your family’s continued adventures!
Love the color you picked for the trailer kitchen cabinets and love the greys and teal blues /greens ! But I’m sure whatever you pick will be beautiful 😉🤟🏼! 🌸HAPPY MOTHERS DAY🌸
Oh my gosh guys! It’s going to look amazing! I’d love to see the steel tiles natural after you finish all that scraping! The stairway refinished in its original stain there and a coastal runner will look awesome! Maybe leaving the railing and posts white.. your possibilities are endless! Kudos you guys for your family adventure!
You're doing a wonderful job on the house, everyone's making a comment about the home , twice you have said it's Mother's Day so happy Mother's Day one week later. I hope everything is going well for you your family and the new home. Happy remodeling.
I would love to see Mystic Seaport on the foyer walls. It’s a soft green with blue undertones. Happy Mother’s Day. I’m a mother of 5 , one girl and four boys. Very grateful to be their mom
How amazing would it look with a chandelier style light shinning off the metal tiles... Once you have stripped the tiles back I would personally just seal them and make them a feature in the house. 👍
Hi Elysia....if all that foyer is covered with real tin tiles why paint them at all? If all the paint strips off nicely down to the bare tin I think it would look GOOOOOOOOD with the tiles just sealed with something clear to protect them.
A light sage green or a light powdery blue comes to my mind for the hall, and the stairs natural polished wood. The floor the same wood color as the stairs. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us ! Your boys are having an amazing life and will always remember their treasure hunts in your new home.
So happy I have discovered you today!! You are the 2nd Nova Scotian youngin rehabbing an old farmhouse I watch now. It's getting to be a trend. Those walls in the foyer are FABULOUS! That house is so solid, great bones so to speak. As for your aging children, hang on to your britches sister. It just gets faster and faster with each passing day. Enjoy every moment and cherish ever experience. Even the bad ones.
Your foyer reminds me of the house I grew up in. It was built in 1910, my parents bought it in 1957. The living room walls were tin outlined with wood framing. My father brought the wood down to it's natural color, then sealed it (no paint) & it lasted until we sold their house 8 years ago. The entry also had a staircase similar to yours, there again my father removed all the paint & brought it down to its natural color. I think your entry would look fantastic with the staircase & rail/spindles in their natural wood color. I also think your tin walls, in keeping with your nautical idea, would look nice with a wash of an aqua color. That way the tin would show up beautifully. Whatever you decide have fun, it's only paint.
I'm surprised you aren't tackling the kitchen first. A pretty necessary part of family life. But maybe you're still waiting for appliances etc for there. Either way, I know I'm gonna enjoy seeing you both pour your love into this house. EDIT: 4:44 You just answered my concerns. :) As for the foyer colour - I'd like to see a sandy colour but not yellow, more a fawn. Or a sea blue, but pale. That attic haul is insane. It doesn't look all that dusty either. The vase/bottle beside the cobra looks cool.
I Really can't wait to see the transformation, I'm excited.. lol If you get a Pro Steamer it will make this task A Lot easier for you both, it will save a lot of time & labor too... 😁
I think a blue color would be beautiful on the old tile. I bet the kids were excited about all of the treasures that you found in the attic. I think it would be awesome to find something like that. Love all of the videos you've been uploading. Every morning, when I get up, I look forward to seeing you guys. Feels like I'm with family!

I won't do tictoc, please share here too!
Pale gray walls for foyer with white trim!
Yep, same. I'm thining down my social media apps and I've no desire to add any others.
I stopped using tiktok.I just had to get rid of so much social media and start living my life instead of looking at every one else doing things. 😵💫
Sea glass colors come to mind, light green and light blues. I doubt I am in trend but I do love those colors
Those are my colors as well, love them
Phillip is going to be scraping paint for days and asking “what day is it”-while having flash backs to the camper wallpaper!!!!
Hahahaha!!! “What day is it??”
😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
HA ha ....so true! Love it
I thought the same thing
Hello, I think a light blue-grey tone would go beautiful with the coastal feeling. Gorgeous house by the way. I’m so jealous 😊
If you're chipping all the paint away, I would leave the walls bare and make your floors as pristine as possible with some beautiful, colorful, large vases with plants and artwork
Yes yes yes…. Leave the tin exposed! It is beautiful in its natural color 😃
I would leave the tin exposed but add white wainscoting along the bottom. The plus side is you (Phillip) will only have to scrap the top half🤣 The contrast in colors would pop!
I was thinking about the same thing leave the walls as original as possible that would be beautiful .
Yes, leave the tin bare. It will be beautiful.
If you do this, you should varnish it to protect it from rusting away
I would not color those walls but leave them metallic. Or white LOL. Yay on the kitchen and flooring!! 👍😉🇨🇦 HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I'm thinking the same!!
I hope you check for Lead Paint being so old. It is a beautiful house waiting to be reborn
I was thinking of the same think
Tested and no lead :)
I was looking at Beauti tone. I love their color of the year! Dancing in the Rain - a beautiful sky blue. Also the yellow below on the color chart would be lovely in your kitchen with pops of the blue!

I am sickly obsessed with Atlantic Ocean Blue/Green. It would soooooo work in that foyer.
Agree. Blue-green teal-ish. Then with a copper distressing to outline the design
I agree- I was thinking blue as it's my favorite color
Agree, with crisp white accents on trim and spindles. And stained light treads on the stairs.
Yes, I agree.
@@kaynothem5445 I agree that sounds so beautiful

I would just leave the walls as is - no paint at all 🤷🏼♀️
That was my first thought too. I like the tin!
@@OHlookSHINYthing Mine too.
I suggested pewter.
Seafoam green, one of the colors that was originally used in the entry
I was going to say a light greyish green; elegant, peaceful and still colorful for this beautiful place :D
I agree with some shade of green!! Lighter green!!
Yes I think a light tint of whitish green almost the color of oxidized copper only lighter for the tins in the foyer and stairway wall. Maybe sea foam as is popular for the Atlantic coast. Navy blue with gold accents

I also think your tin walls, in keeping with your nautical idea, would look nice with a wash of an aqua color. That way the tin would show up beautifully. Whatever you decide have fun, it's only paint.
I do like the white. It reminds me of the white caps on the ocean! But I’m sure you will choose a nice colour!
Kitchen might be July by the time it arrives :( ahhhhhh
You should get a hand held steamer to help you clean.
I wonder what the walls might look like with the tin natural? Happy mother's day. Your fantastic.
I Really can't wait to see the transformation, I'm excited.. lol
If you get a Pro Steamer it will make this task A Lot easier for you both, it will save a lot of time & labor too...
I feel the same way about motherhood. I have 3 grown sons and I'm one proud mommy. Sending many blessings💖
Happy Mother’s Day to an amazing mom!
