Warriors BADLY needed a second scorer next to Steph.
That was the HUGE problem they had, which cascaded throughout their whole roster, as mere role players were asked to do MUCH more than they could.
Now, with Jimmy sliding into that second spot, EVERYONE should have a role that fits them better.

I actually don’t think they had a roster problem. It’s more of a coaching problem to me. But adding Jimmy will help in the playoffs if they get there. There are good scorers on the bench that Kerr doesn’t use. Spencer has been consistently good and he rarely gets minutes. Instead Kerr was playing Waters and Hield. Then he plays 3 small guard line ups and too much just pass the ball to Steph offense. Post should have pulled up 15 games ago once they started tanking to provide spacing. Post, Jimmy, Steph, Draymond, and another reliable shooter (not Hield at this time) should bold well.

    • @cycleoflife565
      @cycleoflife565 День тому

They lost their starting shooting guard early in the season, someone who quickly excelled in the Warriors’ schemes and was a quality defender. They then lost two other starters (Green and JK) for significant periods and Steph for 9 games, only to return to the court with lingering tendinitis in both knees. Additionally Wiggins missed several games for personal reasons.
They are probably exactly where one would expect them to be considering.
Wiggins was back to close to his title level. Kuminga had seemingly turned the corner where he was a threat that teams had to prepare for in addition to having to deal with Steph. Podz had taken a step backwards from his rookie season performance and was regularly getting blown by on the perimeter.
Buddy Hield showed great promise on one end and was a disaster on the other. He eventually became what Kings fans warned us he was: inconsistent shooter, great one game, 1-9 the next while being a serious defensive liability on the regular.

Curry has a hurt hand, bum knee and is constantly triple teamed...of course, he will have a lower percentage. Butler frees him up and his percentages will get back to astronomical.

Lets not forget that everyone was saying poole was washed and trash because he didnt want to play in golden state anymore. N look at him now… we are rating jimmy butler on stats and effort on a team he didnt want to be on anymore and was literally put on the back burner. Were acting like hes some old guy that got out of shape and cant play anymore. Hes 35 and is still in great physical shape, well see how he does when hes actually excited and has that drive to push a team to the finals again. Lets remember there was years that he literally took the heat deep in the playoffs with a mediocre team.

this is heavily going to depend on the depth, if quintin post, Podz, Moody, keep developing then they can be a solid team, theres defintely room for improvement, and we will see what kind of jimmy butler the Warriors get, cause Butler and Curry could go off, and greens going to feed butler a LOT

They'll be a little better, but their ascendency truly relies on Kuminga which I'm not sure will happen soon enough before Curry, Dray and Butler get too old to compete.
They also have no true big and haven't had one since Zaza. Wiseman doesn't count because they botched that draft outside of JP. I still think they should've picked LaMelo over Wiseman. Ball learning under the tutelage of Curry would've been nice to see.
However, the good thing about the trade though is that they didn't give up Kuminga for Butler. It's sad to see Wiggins go because he was instrumental to that 2022 Championship, but he was never the same after that year.
With that said, it would be great to see them at least make a meaningful run into the playoffs and hopefully pick up a few more pieces next year to take them over the top.

Jimmy was ranked as the number 3 player before his shenanigans. He should help.
I imagine he will also stabilize steve kerrs rotation although that might be wishful thinking. They at least have two superstars now which should put them in the conversation at least.

Short answer no. If they kept Wiggins and Anderson. Then yes. Buddy and Dennis needed to go, probably even Draymond at this point, dude is just throwing tantrums every time. Having Jimmy and Wiggins would been huge on the defensive side even on the offensive side because jimmy would push wiggins.

  • @224bigwheel

He has been better his whole career than Wiggins except for this year the drama year. Go ahead and say it Wiggins has a ring. Yeah, that theory says every single player that ever sat on the bunch through the whole finals is better than Jimmy. Why don’t you check Jimmy’s playoff stats. Wiggins was never gonna be a quality option too 1718 points a game doesn’t cut it. that’s why Clay was always the number two and he was the number three.

@ for a season bro, and no matter what happened in that game everybody respected Clay, which opened up more for both of them. All they have to do is pretty much slow down curry and Wiggins will never be enough. But again, what about my entire post? Are you disagreeing with all of iteven with the ring Jimmy Butler would get in the Hall of Fame before him

@ wiggins is not a number two option. That is my point Jimmy Butler is more than a number two option for his whole career except for this year. That was the drama year. Jimmy Butler is better than Wiggins in the playoffs, but a lot of people are saying well Wiggins has a ring. When I hear that comment I hear is everybody in the history of the NBA that has a ring whether they stepped on the court during the finals or not is better than Jimmy Butler.
