calvin storer haha no worries, see some people were saying use the 205 box, get a 306 hdi box, swap the driveshaft ends... In the end the diff swap was very easy. Although do you know the aluminium cover for the diff, does it need sealant when refitting it?
Looking forward to watching this build. Do as many videos as possible on it. These are pocket rockets with a dturbo engine fitted. Are you doing the 11mm mod on the pump? Or any other modifications?
I will try and do as many as possible, they are good even just for the comments and advice. As for the pump mod, i unfortunatley have been too used to the convenience of a HDi for my driving years so missed all the malarky of tuning XUD's. What does the 11mm mod involve? The ZX was apparently lightly altered, i did notice it could put out a fair plume of black smoke when accelerating and felt very lively although the brakes and suspension were knackered.
@@peugeotCitroen2CV The pump must be screwed already then (fuel adjusted). I had 58 306 dturbos in my time lol they were serious cheap fun little cars and cost next to nothing to repair. These XUD's can be made quite fast for what they are for next to no money. You can build an 11mm head from a transit pump onto the original 9mm XUD pump , you can also mod the governor etc. A T25 would be the turbo to put on also (in my opinion) if you are looking for big bhp. That looks a real clean 205 there aswell!
Unfortunately this isn't a busy enough channel to get the sort of mass response your looking for. I would recommend a facebook group for 205 owners if your after that sort of thing. I don't even know myself what they are worth. Possibly £2000 the way prices have went mad over covid times. Best thing to do is look through car and classic, ebay, gumtree etc and research for yourself what cars of a similar age and mileage are listed for.
Hi I have a Peugeot 205 1992 1.8 diesel. Please can you tell me what is the easiest way to make it just a little bit faster on the acceleration? Very grateful for any information.
1.8 non turbo? Unfortunatley they are what they are, some talk about messing about with the pump but it will really only just make a bit of black smoke. If you want it to go faster it will need a TD engine installed. As for tuning the TD engines i am not the best person to ask as i dont do it.
Its an XUD9 as far as i am aware, 405, 306, ZX, Xsara and Xantia will have had this engine. The XUD7 was a bit older and fitted to the 205, earlier 405's and possibly the BX. Either engine will work its just the quirks of what parts to use. As it is right now ive the engine in the car, and it started. Although the lower radiator hose is hitting the power steering pump, and a load of other jobs to sort. No videos at the moment as the computer is down.
@@peugeotCitroen2CV thank you. I'm hesitating between putting an 1L9 d naked or one dressed with a turbo to replace my 1L7 on my C15 ... The naked one should be a very stealhy swap as both 19 and 17 are nearly identical no?
It will be similar although there will be a few bits of wiring to sort, glow plug relay, fuel pump solenoid mainly. Doing an NA to TD swap where the original engine was a diesel the wiring was as close to plug and play as you could get, possibly the only thing was changing a spade connector for the alternator to a ring connector.
Hello there love your engine swap job i have a 93 Peugeot 205 1.8 diesel the camshaft really rattle alot in low gear in high geat you hear it less what do you think the cure could be many thanks standard diesel engine with no power steering cheers 👍🍺
Hello i there thanks for messaging me back the engine was 100% before i got the cam belt changed then it started to rattle after some time on the tappets diesel engine
@@peugeotCitroen2CV well after your video of this swap i did swap from TU1M petrol engine to 1.9 XUD d-turbo from 405 and put original 205 5 speed manual from XUD7 and then i putted interkuller from bmw e34 525tds did upgrade on fuel pump we used parts from some van which has similiar looking pump and from two pumps we made one and it goes as hell and that gearbox is still holding perfectly
When putting a 306 xu engine into a 205 you swap the diff from the 205 into the 306 box, it’s a really easy job
Sorry, posted this before I finished watching the video

peugeotCitroen2CV yes just a tiny bit all round, I recommend changing the drive shaft seals too, only £9 on eBay

What is a 1L7 engine?
Id definatley get a turbo engine in there, far more fun to drive, both engines are nearly identical yes.

Yes it is possible, i just think the NA gearbox might not hold up long term to the extra torque of the TD
