These are the best types of advertisments, they help motivate the kids to "keep it funky",smiling!
First time i've heard about Adrian Younge was an announcement of his collaboration with Ghostface Killah. And then i found his project with The Delfonics... So, you can't just go away after discovering a musician like him, you need to go deeper. Open mind, open heart!
thank the universe for having such people on this planet
I'm a metal player and I thoroughly enjoyed the ideas and music here. Great work!
Hip-Hop, liner notes, & my parents record collection was my best education.
Definitely my parents (record) collection.
Shahid has evolved really great to see, the possibilities with what they are doing are endless!👏🏾❤️
True intellectuals in today´s music world. Love and respect! Greetings from Turkey!
Nice Ali Shaheed Muhammad is an amazing producer good to see him on maschine and playing instruments
The moment I heard the music scores on Luke Cage I had to find out who this was. Their music captures you and provides a vibe that is addicting. Love it!
Yep
exactly
Don’t play bass, I don’t listen to hip hop either. I loved every second of this. Please do more!

Check out Adrian's archive his sound is great imo.
Damn, it's like these cats are telling my story. I've followed them both for a long time too, but after seeing this, I know for a fact we would create divine compositions together.
Thanks for the love
thank you so much for this lengthy mini doc. Real heads know its worth!
Cinematography on this video is dope!!
Amazing isn’t it,,,,the black levels are purplish blue…..and then this is almost American Ganster
I don't think these guys can make bad music if they tried.I love Tribe and I love what Adrian has been doing. The sound is crazy dope imo.
When genius minds alike come together it is truly a beautiful collaboration!! Go beyond they're personal individual catalogs check out the tv shows they score luke cage and more!!! 👍🙂
Two fine brotha's.
That piano during 0:57 got the hook in me immediately. Beautiful melody!i wanna sample that myself!
Xylophone**
Amazing producers! They just dropped an album with Roy Ayers, very cool!
best way to make hip hop: with live instruments. These guys are amazing.
they really don't do hiphop. you missed the point
@jerrylouiswiththethickness6403 you picked the wrong person to debate with! So, i'm just gonna exuse you reply! Have a nice day homeslice!
Sounds amazing - love the evolution from Sampling to Live Instruments
Full circle
@alishaheedMuhhammad @fender the sound at the begging of the first track is not the autoharp, it's Monty Alexander strumming the inside (strings) on the piano with the sustain pedal lifted up. A pianist can even voice a chord and do that same maneuver so that the chord is in key with tune.
For a moment i thought you were bringing back the Rhodes....
The rights went back to Rhodes music company but it'd be dope if they collaborated again to make it.
smurfpiss Oh yes it would!!
Me too! Bring it back, what are y'all doing???
Same, Rhodes isn’t doing anything with it so it would be a perfect time to do it I think. That being said, companies like Vintage Vibe are pretty much as close as you’ll get to a new Rhodes.
Got mine my freshman year at Berklee 20 years ago when I came home for Christmas for about $300...came with a pair of Rhodes satellite speakers..i love that thing like a brother..
This is really soild work.FENDER great job! I'm inspired
Very informative and entertaining. I actually never thought about looping and sampling our own instrumental tracks. Thanks Fender. Always giving me fun ideas for my Telecaster.
Incredible. Flawless.
That 79 P/J Combo bass is stunning.
Just hearing that tape slur when they were overdubbing😎👍🔉
The chop up at the end was dope too.
This is GOLD
simply amazing. coolest dudes, down to earth, SKILLS, most legit equipment and bringing the most important message of them all: learn how to play. iit possible and will give you endless possibilities. that being said - i really should get my lazy ass up and at least practice some more piano goddammit)
Long Red, the legend, being dissected by legends was just a part of this great video.
Well fucking done, Fender.
I loved my FP turntable!😀
Untuneing the guitar string for that effect was dope
A every day thang for me chop n flip and I know so so many beat producers who play their own instruments not that big of a deal but love these guys not bad
Question is can you buy those Linear Lab pads?
Nice effect with the Tele. Killing it!
This short was so GOOD!!! Man am I GLAD I decided to watch. Bravo!
I forgot this was a fender video until they started plugging the p-bass.
Amazing process
Looks great!
masterpiece
Awesome.
Great seeing Willie Mitchell on your wall collection #RoyalStudios #Memphis,TN 👌🏿〽️
Muy bueno!
Can Fender hit 1 million subs?
Maybe in a year at least
Excellent video thx Fender, very inspiring!
Amazing 😎👍Keep it Original..Create your Own Stuff
Awesome, so inspirational!
superb
Does anyone know what microphones they're using?
Bring the fender Rhodes back
lotta nice gear in this but the desk wins it for me
How do you not like......?
@Papa Ice lol right just because it's not some regurgitated classic rock 😂
@Papa Ice lol word..👍
Break Reform used this break a decade or more ago.
Love this! Two things bugging me though, what did he plug the Tele into and and what on earth is that 2 octave 3 manual organ next to the Leslie/Moog tower??
For the tele: It's called a 'Gibson maestro G-2 Rhythm & Sound' effects unit. Jimi Hendrix apparently used to use it back in the day. ludwig göransson used on producing 'RedBone'. Here's the vid. It's at the 2:44 mark.

@@greenvelvet Cheers, thanks for the link! What an interesting concept, especially for that era. Love it!
Amazing
i want to know what they played at the beginning on the record?
Milt Jackson with Monty Alexander trio. Tune was already sampled a couple time I think. Pretty dope intro. ua-cam.com/video/D70-qE6HWwY/v-deo.html
Who was that first record playing, that was a good record
Milt Jackson and The Monty Alexander Trio "Bossa Nova Do Marrilla"
Sorry if my response is a little late, I just came across this video and, thus, your question. So, even of it's late, I hope it helps.
ALSO
The album it's from is called Soul Fusion. If you can track it down, I'd definitely recommend it. It's just one of those records.
Yeah Hip Hop
Every time they say "record" take a drink
Brooowgu hagi canttwrtt ev,en tyoe right lol
Pbass all the way!
The most coolest dudes.. not even into this kind of music.
Whats the name of the drums?
Funky...
The real cateres to samplers and dj's!
I Appreciate from the bottom of my mf Heart what these men do! The Real soul To the Funk.
"Oh Really?" LOL! @19:37
More
I make beats and produce videos. How can I submit 92 likes?
Props to the video producers, the grading was a lil funky at first but I get the throwback grading vibe you all were going for. Great editing and pacing.
shitttt!!! i need of this track
😎👍
Did I mention P Bass?
They are making balloon tower defense music
This shit make me so happy!
2:24 ??
The uneven/galloping loop of the sample they made is driving me crazy lol
If you have no soul if not inspired by this.
I also like tight bottoms
Frank Dukes, take notes!
Good stuff, but it gets a little repetitive. Think you couldve made it 10 mins shorter and tried some different bass lines?
Pee base sits in the tract
This is all so off beat
Depending on your style of music, that's a compliment or a shot.
Good, everything is too quantized today.
In Jazz drummers are not backing tracks. You have to be able to play behind ,in front of the beat ect...
Nuri Abdi you are confusing jazz with bad timing
@@g.garcia106 No this fact. You clearly don't understand. I agree with the poster below it's a compliment. Everybody can't be as GOOD AS YOU.... LOL
Oh Fender, why do you waste so much valuable advert time using this charlatan to propagate your beautiful instruments. All his snazzy suits, analog gear, and rare pieces of vinyl will never mask his entry-level skill on a bass guitar let alone a classic P-Bass. I've been watching this guy from the sidelines for years, what a full-blown imposter. Yo Adrian, stay in your lane with those samplers and records and leave the musicality to us working players.
Also Ali Shaheed Muhammad, please brother, stay off the kit with those vanilla beats. Stiff, stiff ,stiff.
Who hurt you? 🤣
