Paul McCartney & Ringo Starr - The Medley
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- From the 1984 film, "Give my Regards to Broad Street," this 'Medley' consists of "Yesterday," 'Here, There, and Everywhere," and "Wanderlust."
Watch as Ringo searches for brushes, needed for the first part of the medley, only to find them in time to switch to sticks.
For those who have not seen this movie, Paul's melancholy is due to an assistant, missing with the only copy of master tapes of music that were about to go to album production, and a record company about to be taken over.
"So what are we doin?"
"The medley."
"What medley?"
I love Ringo when he's clueless
Lmao 😂 man, I'm so glad that my Dad listened to The Beatles and that I grew up listening to them. Once upon a time he had a gnarly vinyl collection that included all of their albums and a ton of other great music. He was so cool about me n my brother listening to them too, he only ever asked that we put them back in their sleeves and back in the cabinet like we found them. Love and miss you, Dad. You were the best, dude. I would argue that to my last breath too. 🤘🏼🤘🏼✌🏼✌🏼👌🏼👌🏼🖖🏼🖖🏼

Every one loves Ringo, even when they broke up, John , George and Paul all loved Ringo
True. I'm sure he's a good guy.
George and Ringo are very like able.
I wish, he also got lots of haters
Unfortunately
You can’t hate ringo, that’s illegal 💀
I wonder how many times Paul wakes up and says; "good God - I'm Paul McCartney, and I actually wrote these wonderful tunes that the world will never forget."
Like, every day.
Like everyday he surprise with himself. 😂
🤣🤣🤣
I remember reading about Paul Simon reacting to John Lennon mistreating him or disregarding him for some reason. Simon said, "Okay, fine, I'm not Lennon. I'm not McCartney. I'm not a Beatle. But come on, I'm Paul Simon, after all." I thought that was so funny. Even in his attempt to stand up for himself, he bows to the Gods. I do believe Simon deserved respect for his contributions, but as we all know, he wasn't John, Paul, George, Ringo... he would never be a Beatle. Who would be??? Too bad the boys couldn't have gotten more creative in the end and expanded their group to include Preston and Clapton and continued making music together that way. Maybe the world wouldn't have understood the move, but so what? They did a lot of things that their fans didn't understand at first... and we eventually got there. That move would have been no different.
Paul is a very fine man. He is beloved around the world. That would be something to be proud of in the end.
Its 2023 and Ringo is still looking for those brushes 😂
and still in 2024
And still in 2025

Am I the only one expecting the Abbey Road medley?

@@LukeTheGeek Not at all. You could say the same for the album the Dark of the Moon. It may be a bunch of different songs, but because of how they flow into each other on the record, you, could consider them all to be one giant work of music. :)
From the very beginning it was clear that Ringo could not only act, but he was a good comedian. That was why the movie HELP! featured Ringo.
Greenwolfe Green or maybe it stared him cause he was in the beatles? Dumb fuck
You're right. It featured him first and foremost because he was in the band and for him not to be in it would have been ludicrous. But you should be a gentleman and apologise for insulting that person, it wasn't necessary.
David Stewart yes it was biotch
indeed, I think film was putting in twice the effort as both Paul and Ringo were doing voiceover for animation too at the time, both iconic children's characters from books too... Paul was working on "Rupert and the Frog Song" in addition to this, while Ringo had briefly been drafted by a lass by the name of Britt Allcroft for ITV, becoming known to many adults and kids around the UK in what his second claim to fame in life would likely be just beneath his amazing drumming in music...

Does anyone remember from the Mozart film when Salieri goes looking for Mozart’s working papers, the prelude to the final version, and Mozart’s wife says there’s only one copy, and Salieri realises that the music comes to Mozart fully formed, as if from God.
That’s how I see Paul McCartney. A person who G-d chose to be his messenger.

Ringo refused to play on any of the Beatle track saying 'I've already done them once', hence the 'brushes' gag.

Really Ringo said that. If Paul asked me to play drums for him on a Beatles song, I'd say....sure!
Even tho I can only play the brushes. I'd work those brushes

Yeah, but Ringo also played the drums on the studio version of Wanderlust too (on the Tug Of War album).

The best of the best!! Bob Dylan about McCartney “I’m in awe of Paul McCartney,” Dylan told Rolling Stone in 2007. “He’s about the only one that I am in awe of. But I’m in awe of him. He can do it all and he’s never let up, you know. He’s got the gift for melody, he’s got the rhythm. He can play any instrument. He can scream and shout as good as anybody and he can sing the ballad as good as anybody, you know so … And his melodies are, you know, effortless. That’s what you have to be in awe … I’m in awe of him maybe just because he’s just so damn effortless.”

Imagine being partly responsible for the soundtrack of the lives of so many generations of people ? I was born in '68, so I am a late 70s and 80's child. With that said, I wasn't even close to being born for Beatle mania, but I can't imagine a world without a Beatles song. That is the impression that they have left on humanity. It is truly staggering how many people's lives those boys have touch thru their music.
Very nice arrangement of Yesterday with horns! Works wonderfully!

Paul included two songs from his 1982 album Tug Of War in the movie. One was Ballroom Dancing, because the director wanted to film a big dance scene to that song. The other was Wanderlust. In my opinion. Greatest love song of all time. Such genius to run 2 great Beatles songs abd Paul's own in continuous fashion.
So much like their movies. Ringo is goofing off, its in the script. Comes in at the right moment for Wanderlust. Nothing on the recording but Ringo making noise looking for stuff. Just like the old days. I saw them in 1964. Loved them ever since!!! The music is wonderful. Paul's voice is grand.

That whole bit was put in because Ringo refused to play on a remake of a Beatles song. Made a nice gag for the scene.

This is the first video i ever saw of him. It was just coming out from underground in Soviet Union. I was STUNNED. It's perfection, one/no one can't make it better. And it's not one song-dynamite - it's 3! That's how Paul got stuck in my mind: this age, this hair-style, natural Epiphone, trumpets, piano, goofing Ringo, GeorgeMartin..Paul McCartney - no one is like him, no one wrote so many songs and on that level (don't even know what level it is..different dimension). GENIOUS.
What was it like in the Soviet union
What a fantastic - and very moving - comment.
I'm sixty. With two much older sisters who were both into The Beatles. They WERE remarkable. But, at the same timefor me, they were 'normal' because they were the soundtrack to my childhood.
I can begin to imagine how you felt when you discovered them because five minutes ago, I heard the last song of the three for the first time in over forty years. I 'forgot to breathe' for over a minute - literally - took my breath away.
It was a favourite of my middle sister who has died. Someone must be holding an onion under my eyes because water is leaking from them as I type.

😂 Peace & Love!
