Not all indians. This was good before. Now it's crap. Literally in market, you get tonnes of better options. This was rugged and cheapest offroader in price. Well now 4wd also in discontinued.

The not long lasting Turbo Diesel engine and the lack of features in 10-12lakhs for a basic workhorse car is what bothers me.
It's actually more raw than an Alto and prices are high for an old school MUV.

I'm from Uttarakhand, learned to drive in this car, the old one with 2.4 litre engine (not sure though), so raw I just can't explain.
Today, after a couple of years, having driven multiple vehicles from many manufacturers, I understand why this is so widely popular. It just cheap to maintain, easy on pocket and hugely reliable.

You are wrong about the "Fuel" lid on the other side for aesthetics or symmetry. That lid opens using a knob in the rear left hand side. It's for filling Diesel exhaust fluid.

Do you know how much fun u can have sitting at the 3rd row...
We used to fight with friends for the 3rd row because from third row we can see everything that even the driver cannot see... So before commenting u have to experience... Side facing sits are way better than front facing at this price....
But not comfortable for long rides

I learned driving on bolero in 2009 -10 which was owned by my uncle. and I got my license in 2011. That bolero had 2.5 liter diesel engine, which was way better than current engine. When the car is in traffic, it is easily picked up in 2nd gear. I had So much good memories with the bolero. but current generation is too much overpriced with no features at all. Now, top model costs around 13 lakh On road Mumbai.

This car is not about luxury but performance and old school charm. It's a unique pride when someone drive this car. Ofcourse service y is another reason it sell like hot cake

All the points you covered... people really don't care about those things when they buy this car. This car is just meant for sheer driving feel..rugged and old school ..on any sorts of roads and surfaces. Not everyone can afford expensive luxury/off road suvs. Plus ..this wont give you 1lakh rs service bill...the service cost of this car is as cheap as a hatchback.

I like Faisal's no-nonsense approach when it comes to reviewing vehicles.. Yes the Bolero is dated and with it now fitted with a 3-cylinder engine and no 4x4 variant in offer, I personally am against buying it. However, its reliability and low cost of maintenance still impress me...

He is a very hardworking guy though he is very busy or though it some important program he still work hard to entertain us.
