Directed by Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us), whose style of filmmaking is known to be less conventional, NOPE explores some familiar sci-fi tropes with surprising originality. IMO this movie had a hint of animal rights thrown into it. The seemingly random side story about Gordy points to this. Wild animals aren't meant to be used for our entertainment whether it's a horse, a monkey, or a giant flying UFO alien.
