I have this bike but a 2019 with almost 200 hours on it. I’ve absolutely loved every second of it. I ride in Southern Utah in the winter and mountains/high desert in the summer. Killer bike.
3:50 I moved the OEM switch to the left and added a common dirtbike start button ($15) connected with a Y to the original switch harness. That way i have two start buttons, the original on the left and the new one on the right. Cheap solution.
I owned a similar FE 250. I really liked it, especially for more open, fast and flowing terrain. The 115 mile range on the stock tank made it the choice for long exploration rides. I found it exhausting in the gnar. It required far more clutch work. The lack of low end torque ( vs a 300), stalling, and hard starting when hot were the biggest drawbacks. I am looking forward to your observations. I just rode my 500 XCF-W 230 miles over the Whipsaw and surrounding country. There is a place for both 2T and 4T bikes. You are fortunate to have both.
To me the most important feature on your 250f is the 6 speed transmission. 1 of the reasons I sold my 2013 crf250r was the 5 speed transmission sucked off road. It was 1 of my funnest motocross bikes. In my opinion all 250fs should have a 6 speed.
I’ve got 32 hours on my 2024 Ktm 250XC, and I have had zero issues with it, and I honestly don’t mind the start stop switch, even dead engine starts it doesn’t bother me.
How do you know which Astra bars to get? Is it trial and error or is there some guideline to picking them? I think I saw they were sold out of everything on their website right now.
You can email them with what bike and type of riding you do and they will suggest a specific model. I know they've been sold out for a while now, I'm told they will have stock again soon.
It’s interesting to me that people in america seem to choose the XC version before the XCW in most cases. Here in europe the XC’s are pretty rare and the enduro bike is called EXC or EXC-f. When I tried the XC/XC-f version I find it almost to snappy for enduro riding. I believe the EXC’s is powerful enough for both flowy and technical riding and should suit most riders actually.
@@PNWEnduro I also went with the nihilo swap out could have sworn I saw someone release a $45 plug and play that was nearly identical but not sure about the quality
@PNWEnduro i put the cuo on my 24 gg ex250f and set to max acceleration min engine braking and it's PERFECT in the woods never stalls just hooks up and rips
You're about the same height as me how do you ride these KTMs with the high seats? I know you shaved the seat but how much does that get you? I could barely touch the ground with one toe when I was at the ktm and husky dealer sitting on these things lol... Also I see a new Tacoma in the driveway how you liken that?
You can shave off 3/4-1" easily on the seats, that makes a big difference. Also, they tend to sit high at the dealer, sag has not been set and I feel like the shocks settle in a bit as well. The new Tacoma has been great other than having to replace the cheap stock tires, blew one out on a long FSR drive.
I dig the fact that you do your videos with your helmet on!! Always ready to ride!!! Keep the videos coming my friend!

I have a ‘24 EXC250F and a Husky TE300 . I tend to enjoy riding the 4 banger a lot more than the 2 banger . They are both great bikes .
Sweet! Can’t wait to see it in the woods.
Nice choice! Can’t wait for the content on this bike!
Coming soon!
Super excited to see your future vids with this bike!
250f's are a lot of fun to ride

Excited to hear your thoughts after the Sherco

So far minimal stalling and it starts up very quickly.

I run the stock on/off switch, not crazy about the switch but I am using it on my TE300.
Nice! I got the same bike but a 2019. Great bike!
Heck yeah, love me a small bore 4T woods bike!
They’re a lot it fun!
Did you have to add a spark arrestor?
I also admire your bike buying behavior!
That’s good because my wife doesn’t! 😂
@@PNWEnduro Ha! Lol
@@PNWEnduro how many hours do you get out of a bike?

Great review
I'm going to pick up a new '24 350 XC-F in Idaho, this weekend. There are really good deals on '24s now that the 25 is out.
Definitely good deals right now!
Bike looks good. Tough decisions ahead on which bike to grab for each time you ride.
It’s a good problem to have!
How did you find out how much HP the 250xcf put down?
250 will stay cooler aswell. Mycbuddies 350's fan is ALWAYS on in tight stuff. My 250 with a fan works like a dream and never gets hot hot.
Good point, the 350’s do run hot in the tight stuff.
Any issue with the stator being able to keep up with the fan ? No info out there that I can find about anyone running a fan on the 24 models
No problems. It's not the same low output stator the 2 stroke XC bikes come with.
@ awesome thanks for the reply I’m gonna pick me one up
👍
I got rid of that button after 1 ride. Put start on left kill on right
So much better having the separate buttons.
Flip your handle bar top clamp 180 degrees and it won't cut into your throttle cables. I don't know why they don't put them on that way.
Any chance you know the part number for the skid plate add on?
A46003090020
How long are the plushie's lasting for you?
Over 250 hours.
Greg, did your bike come with a O-Ring chain? My 23 TX300 did not. I had to change it. Also I use the Motominded double start switch.
Yes o-ring. I think that was only happening on 2023 Husky’s for some reason.

XCF-W here, not as popular or as many available. I did not want a PDS bike because they sit taller than linkage bikes.
I thought the stator couldn't support a fan?
That’s only on the 2 stroke xc bikes.
My original start stop switch was terrible on my 24 300, couldn’t get the switch to engage 5 times out of 10
I’ve seen them fail on new bikes. The stop button on the husky took a lot of force to activate.
@@PNWEnduro I also went with the nihilo swap out could have sworn I saw someone release a $45 plug and play that was nearly identical but not sure about the quality
I think I know the $45 dollar one you mention but it’s not a company I’d support.
I am like you. I go both ways I believe in having a 4 stroke and a 2 stroke.
Best of both worlds!
I'm very interested to hear your thoughts on this bike. I recently got the '23 version. Have you thought about adding the CUO?
I haven’t given any thought to the CUO.
@PNWEnduro i put the cuo on my 24 gg ex250f and set to max acceleration min engine braking and it's PERFECT in the woods never stalls just hooks up and rips
Excellent review, can't wait for the riding impressions. The modern 250fs are really impressive, especially for riders under say 75kgs.
Coming soon!
The offroad ktm 250f should be a 300 with a 6 speed.

I have same bike did the ECU made a big difference best upgrade I’ve done
They sure got porky. 6lbs over the old chassis appears to be about right.
Ktm ......😢
Should of got the 350..... Perfect trail bike.
