The novel "Under The Skin" by Michele Faber on which the movie is based is an absolute mind blower. I read it three times over five years or so. Highly recommended for those who enjoy a good read.
Yes! As a straight man too, "I Saw the TV Glow" was transformative. A real wake-up call for action. I went in blind and was moved by it. Truly one of my favorites. My list is: -"I Saw the TV Glow" -"Cool Hand Luke" -"Bladerunner 2049" -"Gattaca" "Cool Hand Luke" to remind me that we're just here passing time, so enjoy it. "Bladerunner 2049" because of its message on meaning and finding it yourself, and lastly, "Gattaca", because of the indomitable spirit it reminds me to have.
I love all three of these movies so much. There are 2 movies that changed my life in ways. One is The Road. I read the book first and then watched the movie. I couldn't get over how the movie created the same foreboding melancholy the book did while still giving me the slightest hope that things would turn around. The book ends with an extremely ambiguous and highly debated paragraph some believe is a happy one but its very questionable given the material. The other movie that stayed with me was Gone Baby Gone. That movie seriously brings you into the gory stuff cops have to deal with without sugar coating or leaving anything out. It was what i thought was a horrifying peak into the lives those cops who see children who get assaulted and torn apart from extremely sick people and they are still expected to keep their head high and do a job thats pretty thankless at times also. It upset me so much and when ive stumbled upon it i never watch it for the second time bc the first time was more than enough.
Hi, Crazy, cool, and very interesting list. I have seen 'Under The Skin'. And it's one of my all-time favorite horror films. My three are: *The Exorcist (1972) *Night of the Living Dead (1968) *Paranormal Activity (2007) All three horrified me both as a child and an adult. Thanks
@NeekoWatchesMovies Hi, If by saying, "I wanna read the book so bad," you mean 'The Exorcist' I read it when I was a teenager. What my mind imagined while reading was even more horrifying than the film. An honorable mention on my list of movies that had a huge impact on me is 'Hereditary'. Thanks
