You actually think "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" was "Great"?.......wow. Have you seen the original? You can't if you think the American version is "Great". It REALLY sucks, compared to the original. When all that is said, you absolutely need to watch "Kingdom".

The novel "Under The Skin" by Michele Faber on which the movie is based is an absolute mind blower. I read it three times over five years or so. Highly recommended for those who enjoy a good read.

Just watched an interview with M Night and Hartnett. Night says the movie is intended to be funny, playful, even with a serial killer bringing darkness to it. Josh said they a lot of fun doing this, even Night would shoot a scene and say This is hilarious. Hubs and I picked up on the delishness.of the tone when we identified the tone of the move. Kind of feel sorry for people who wanted to take it serious and/or expected it to be the same ole Twisty.🫤

How about this: the bonkers premise, the wild improbabilities, the double entendres, the tongue in cheek dialogue, how about if these are INTENDED to give us a “new M Knight experience,” a suspenseful serial killer thriller wrapped in comedy. How about that. Here, Jamie, take this box opener, we wouldn’t want you to get cut. Or, Cooper takes off his shirt and lays the cleaver down because Rachel wants them to have a piece of pie “for the last time.” What the hell, did Trap go over people’s heads?! It’s hilarious. M Knight and Hartnett joke about the humor. But gullible fans take this SERIOUSLY? Seriously?!

5 times in one week?? Sheesh. I’ve definitely seen it 5 times before haha. That first viewing… I’ve never been more hooked by a 3 hr movie. It just flew by! (In the best way) It’s for sure my favorite PTA, although it’s slipped out of my four favorites. But there’s nothing quite like that first PTA deep dive. I like being able to see the diary of logged films on Letterboxd and I can visually see “oh here’s my PTA phase.” “And no it is not dangerous to confuse children for angels!” Is it weird to call this a comfort movie??

PTA is the best Definitely would recommend Punch drunk love, The Master and obviously Boogie Nights, hope you talk about him some more!

Hi, Great that you spotlighted the marvelous Magnolia. I immediately watched your show about it. I saw it when it was originally released. It is truly one of the greatest movie experiences I have ever had. It's right up there with Star Wars, Moulin Rouge (the remake), The Joy Luck Club, Jaws, Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Sophie's Choice, Raiders Of The Lost Ark, and Hereditary to name a lot. Ultimately, he and every other critic is not the final word on whether you go to see a particular film, you are. Years ago, I went to see "Man of Steel", thinking it would not be good. I thoroughly enjoyed it despite its flaws. Sometimes I go and see films that I read in a review. Some I liked and others I did not care for. I've read White off and on over the years and now when I do read him, it is just for how pretentious he and his reviews have become. Once upon a time, a very provocative and engaging writer, now just an egotistical and aging hack.

I enjoyed Grease 2 and have watched it multiple times. It had catchy songs and made great use of background characters. It felt like two movies mashed together though, where did Frenchie go anyway?

You said you wanted to watch more of Oz's films. Yes. All of his films are on this level. My personal favorite is "I Am The Pretty Thing That Lives in The House". If you need convincing, I made reviews of both that film and "The Blackcoat's Daughter". He's genuinely one of my favorite directors.

Grease 2 is hilarious. I love it. Its not at all like Grease and if you can accept that, its awesome

It‘s among my favorite films of the year. Yes, Challengers is the overall more classically competent movie in every way. But it‘s Aggro Dr1ft I keep thinking about. Glad daring experiments like this exist.

Not the "foreign cousin" sequel plot cliche...

The people in my theatre experience all liked it and the place was packed. I really liked it and want to watch again. It is very conceptual, violent, and silly. Obviously reminiscent of GTA. But then filtered through artistic choices. If you are an artist that can appreciate long “boring” scenes this is for you.
