@@ScottSutherlandMusic I know.. I know.. Talent is scarce - let alone food for thought. Instruments are found by dozens while a player in a million to one. I just bought a Yamaha YEP-321 for 160$ in mint condition. That's how I ran into your videos. On a different note. You have an amazing talent: Yet until you realize what you are created for, you'd have yet to fill that void. this is by far the best channel on UA-cam every week I check your channel to see if you made any new videos an then I just watch them over and over again because they are just amazing as a fellow euphonium player you rock! PS: Bohemian Rhapsody is the greatest song ever!
Obvious talent here...beautifully assembled. Far too melancholy for my taste though. Seems to have muted most of the wild intensity out of the original.
Hi Michelle, thanks for asking! I recommend you check out this video from my friend, Bill. He explains it well. Basically, it depends on the shape of the instrument, not the number of valves. ua-cam.com/video/VGFxsMuwtOc/v-deo.html
Hi ATX! Thank you for your kind words. Make sure you can sing and buzz anything you are playing on the horn. This will ensure you are playing in the center of the sound. Also, listen to a ton of great tuba players and get their sound in your ear.
Ahhhh alright I see thank you very much Mr.sutherland! I'm looking forward to watching more videos you upload in the future! Have a good rest of your day :)
zachary ellis be sure to have the right balance between air and tongue, keeping notes long and using the tongue minimally. The tongue should just flick the airstream most of the time, never completely cutting off the airstream. Work on more flow and see how that goes! Good luck!
I played the Baritone for 7 years in school. Had to give up because I got my first apartment and its way too loud? I know they make mutes for trombones do they make them for Baritones?
Absolutely!! Check out “practice mutes” for euphonium. If you have the dough, the Silent Brass is free blowing and very quiet, though can be a little heavy
The thumb shouldn’t be tense while playing. If it’s cramping, that means it is supporting the weight of the instrument. I would find ways to support the instrument apart from the thumb
If the afterlife has a internet connection and for sure freddie watched this think he will be happy cuz aside from the legacy that he left the music that he wrote is loved by all people of all ages Anyways kudos to you i hope you can do more queen covers
Damn i wish i can still play Sousaphone,Tuba and of course Euphonium i miss my shining days when i was in middle school and i used to owned one euphonium but suddenly my mom got ill and i need to sell my euphonium so i can add some money for her medication hahaha anyways past is past its time to move on
ATA1289 I have two silver plated tubas, one is an F tuba and the other is a larger CC tuba. Wagner tuben are smaller and usually played by French horn players.

I once had dreams of playing music like this on my tuba. Then I joined the Army and watched my dreams ripped away from me by my leadership first and then my first wife after. Now I couldn't play a scale to save my life.
@@ScottSutherlandMusic It is when you can't afford an instrument or lessons. I did get lucky and found an interesting somewhat antique tuba that I was able to purchase, but it needs some repairs and I can't afford them. Sorry, I didn't really mean to be a downer on your video. You play wonderfully and I love the music. I just miss playing and happen to be feeling nostalgic.
Dude your tuba playing is extremely impressive
☺️ Hey, thanks!!!! 🙏🏼
I’ve been playing baritone for 5 years on to highschool and this is the best I’ve seen and I’ve played this song for a solo
Wow, thank you Katelyn!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼☺️☺️☺️
Reminds me of Smooth Tuba Tuesday!!
Sounds like my kind of hashtag!
giving the tuba the solo was actually really surprising and it still sounded amazing
Thanks so much! I really liked how it turned out
HOW DOES THIS MAN NOT HAVE MORE SUBSCRIBERS
I don't know, Victor, but if you figure it out, LET ME KNOW!!

The two dislikes are baritones who are jealous of the majestic euphonium.
Did you do that backwards. There are no baritones in the video only euphs.
mason harris Haha whoops.
Im a baritone but my band doesnt allow euphoniums only baritones
They’re practically the same instrument apart from the bell and the numbering of valves and the placement of valves
Nope, I think the piano sounds like shit.

The tuba is one of my favorite instruments to listen to and to play

Thank you! Haven’t missed the Nirschl since selling it a few months ago, between my Eastman 4/4 632 CC and 6/4 836 CC, I’m set!!
This is what one sees during an acid trip

I play euphonium, and I wish I could have that tone quality
You can!! Listen to GREAT playing constantly, get that SOUND in your head and channel that a little everyday into your own playing. Best of luck!!!😁

The baritone tubas sound pretty
Even the other tubas and the Euphonieums

I kind of spelled “Euphonium” Incorrectly...
Perfeito !!!

Thank you
No, thank YOU 😁
That is so good 😊 amazing 🤩 I din’t have anything bad to say about you
Awesome cover do a video on how to play it so I can learn on my euphonium
Thanks!! 🙏🏼
my euphonium only has 3 valves, does that mean its not a euphonium?
Hi Michelle, thanks for asking! I recommend you check out this video from my friend, Bill. He explains it well. Basically, it depends on the shape of the instrument, not the number of valves. ua-cam.com/video/VGFxsMuwtOc/v-deo.html
I have a 4 valved euphonium
Valves depend from professionality of the instruments
yea it depends on the tubing size as it gets to the bell
bruh, 3 valve is for beginners
Wow
☺️☺️☺️
Nice video nice sound
It's great! In what program You did made this video?
Hi! I use Final Cut Pro for video, Logic for audio
Beautiful!
Which tuba do you have? Is it a F tuba or a B tuba?
I did this video in 2017, I now play all Eastman CC and F tubas
I play Euphonium and I love this song I saw it and my brain was like click now
Give in to the temptation to CLICK!! 😆
I play the tuba also and I strive to play as beautiful as you do :,) do u have any tips for sounding clear with your sound?
Hi ATX! Thank you for your kind words. Make sure you can sing and buzz anything you are playing on the horn. This will ensure you are playing in the center of the sound. Also, listen to a ton of great tuba players and get their sound in your ear.

How do u not have more subs?!?!?

Can you please play LA Bamba
On my Baritone it can be hard for me to toung lower notes. Any tips?

Do you have arrangements for your songs?
I do, through my Patreon Page: patreon.com/scottsutherlandmusic
what model euphonium is that
It's a Yamaha 321. This video was produced before I purchased my current euph, the larger, compensating Eastman 526
You make me miss playing tuba🥲
Always a chance to pick it up again!!
Scott, please can you tell me, how do you get the sheets, I mean, the partitures?
Dead Man I wrote my own arrangement.
What kind of tuba do you have
I currently play on Eastman tubas and euphoniums. This video was a couple of years ago when I played a combo of Yamaha and Nirschl instruments.
I made all state this year for tuba
Congrats Preston! Great to talk with you all on Saturday. Hope you enjoyed it
How can you prevent thumb cramps while you play?
The thumb shouldn’t be tense while playing. If it’s cramping, that means it is supporting the weight of the instrument. I would find ways to support the instrument apart from the thumb
Good
Andre Carvallo glad you found it!
What model is the tuba?
There are a couple of tubas here. One is a Walter Nirschl 4/4 CC, the other is a Yamaha 621 F.
For band class I was in euphonium I got inspired by the instrument this why I'm looking for more euphonium players
Welcome to the channel!! There’s plenty of euphonium love for you here!

Yo can anyone give me the link to the tuba he uses
What it's chord?
Starts with Bb major (added 6) and goes in lots of different directions from there!
Sheet music?
Gotta be a patron on Patreon for access to sheet music! patreon.com/scottsutherlandmusic
He looks like king candy from wreck it ralph.
😆 That’s a new one!!
Do you prefer euphonium over baritone?
Hey zachary ellis! I definitely prefer euphonium for the larger, fuller sound.
Yeah. I thought you did because most, if not all your vids use the euphonium. Great work!
Hahahaha good one.
I prefer the baritone as its ligher and takes less breath lol
What kind of tuba is this?
IS this a 5 quarter tuba?
The largest tuba is a 4/4 cc from Walter Nirschl.
wait when did u have four brothers
Miracles in cloning 😜
do you have a score
Omari Durrett email me (address in the description) and I'll let you know when it becomes available.
Is that a 4/4 Nirschl I see?
Douglas Briley good eye!

Year 2021 and this video have only 143 617 wiews. What is wrong with the world? And BTW. awsome work Sir :-)
Thank you Martin!!!
How did you do that?
Dead Man Listen to the recording and transcribe the original music, then arrange it for my instruments
What euphonium mouthpiece are you using
Currently I use a Denis Wick SM 3.5 gold plated mouthpiece on euph.
Pretty
Thank you!!
Watch the way you finger some notes, sounds amazing tho
Lol, no idea what you mean by that, but glad you like the way it sounds! THAT’S what matters the most!
what type of tuba is the silver plated one is it an F tuba, or a Wagner, or is it a Wagner F
ATA1289 I have two silver plated tubas, one is an F tuba and the other is a larger CC tuba. Wagner tuben are smaller and usually played by French horn players.

I assume you play Euphonium because it sounds like your tongue is really high when you play the tuba. It makes it sound kinda of "stuffy".
Nope. Tuba player through and through! Euph is very occasional.
Great job!

Those are some high notes 😨
Ethan Jarskey you’re not kidding!
It took me until 3 mins in that it was the same person
🤣🤣🤣 were you shocked that THIS many good looking guys could form a band?
POV:
You play one of these instruments
Safe bet
Either he has all left handed instruments or the video is mirrored
🤔 Definitely right handed instruments and not mirrored.
I know how to play euphonium I have a 4 valve
Cool!
