my 1st day female inmate broke her door window with a tray and was put in a restranment chair, fast forward to amonth ago she wanted the other CO to kill me lol...now fast forward to today ive written 2 reports on inmates hoarding toilet paper, fuckn slowies i tell ya.
I’m not a new CO by any means, but I was hoping some of you could help me out. I worked in a medium security unit for several years and was well respected. All my yearly reports were at least 4/5s, and I never had any counselings or similar. Unfortunately, I made some poor personal decisions (not employment related) and I wound up in prison…. Ironically where I worked before. During my time as an inmate in this unit things were different. “When in Rome” I suppose is the best example of what I changed into. I would use drugs, yell and got tattoos. A few years later after I was released, I reapplied for my old job. Since I had experience they rehired me of course, but I lost ALL my seniority. My issue is that my fellow officers look at me very differently now. It’s like they think I’m someone else. It makes work very hard and I want to try something else. One of the female COs won’t even talk to me because of all the cat calls and exposure I did to her when I was locked up.
I'd recommend going elsewhere then, you're not gonna be treated the same there as you may have been when you first worked there. Times changed since then, people came and went, you changed as well. You left the job, for whatever the reason can came back years later you're not gonna have the seniority even if you didn't spend time as an inmate there as well. That's normal to happen, but your situation is you're also going back to work, which is interesting they even hired you back in the field and in the same place nonetheless. But also having just came back from being locked up in there people all around are gonna have their opinions and feelings about you. You either take it all in stride and show you're a different person and start from the bottom as a new guy and hope in time it all changes or go elsewhere. But know either way you're 9/10 times gonna start fresh its just how it is. Look at it from their perspective, think how would you feel and think about a person if roles where switched and instead you're seeing this guy who was for the last few years an inmate and was like you said you were. It's understandable they'd feel a certain way, it's understandable how that female CO might feel and how she treats you after how you said you were. Now that's not to say you can't come back from it all but you have to understand you've gotta work through a lot of stuff and show you're not that guy they saw as an inmate. But know it's work and takes time to change all that.
I also want to work for the government, but my English is bad. Tell me where I could get to work for them with minimal English? But I have an American passport. But I would like to become a policeman and work in a prison.

@@ottokrieg I’m in the academy right now, but I shadowed a bit beforehand. It’s county jail, a lot different than the type of work I’m use to, but am eager to see where this can take me!!

How can COs keep facial hair? Just asking
my 1st day female inmate broke her door window with a tray and was put in a restranment chair, fast forward to amonth ago she wanted the other CO to kill me lol...now fast forward to today ive written 2 reports on inmates hoarding toilet paper, fuckn slowies i tell ya.
Any NYC correction officer here? i have some questions to ask
They let you get tattoos in prison?
I also want to work for the government, but my English is bad. Tell me where I could get to work for them with minimal English? But I have an American passport. But I would like to become a policeman and work in a prison.
@40andretiredpodcast, we retired from the same community
Been thinking about it. But dude said said " if you can't talk you will fail in this career " bro I stutter 😂😂 so now what 😂
You don’t carry guns ?
Not in the jail and prison.
on guard towers
@@yoda8802 Correct. No firearms are allowed inside a secured facility. Most agencies in 2023 have Handcuffs, Taser, OC, Less Lethal launchers, impact weapons and soft restraints.
Do you carry guns during transport
@@stevemaynard2015 there are guns just designated to individuals in secure areas like guard towers
I start in 2 months. Federal prison
If you spend 8 to 10 hrs a day in a jail are you really better off than the inamates there?
Wdym you’re getting paid and they’re not
@@uggycyvhvyvyv7322Actually bub, some inmates trustees do get paid.
Right 😂
So basically every job is a jail you are held there till you are done lmao
Society is one big jail
Is not better to always say "YES" instead of "NO"? 🤔🤣
How do you believe an instructional video that has plot holes? First you said the you saw the suicide on your first day with your FTO, then you said you saw the guy for 10 years and had lots of emotions.
Bro. You’re slow. As in every time he opened that cell he was reminded about seeing that. As in this thing called a “memory”
Hey CO ,DID WHATS HIS NAME GIVE THAT TO YOU THE OTHER DAY ?? WHO?? DEEZ NUTZ HA GOTTEM
Hahaha
CORRECTIONAL, thats a laugh.
Thanks for watching!
If your going up against someone with nothing to lose, you have to live in that way too. Also, if you hang around the toilet long enough, you start to smell like 💩
In my country working as a prison officer these days we are not allowed to use vulgarity on inmates hence they climb to our heads, feel as a correctional unit officer we must have the freedom to be tough to them,we are told to be firm only which is not enough, they no longer fear us,don’t know about America prison
We be whooping they ass over here 😂
I have no respect for you at all. Ps never been locked up. Just don’t respect you at all
Would you prefer having criminals running around everywhere then? Tf is u on 😂
you sound like a TARD. probably a dumb and demented little kid with no future.
You can expect to be hated. Expect to be challenged. Expect to get involved in a heavy fight. This comeing from the convict side of it. You in our house. Give respect get respect. Disrespect begets disrespect.
*coming
It is the Officers house and the “convicts” live there. Thanks for watching
@@stevemaynard2015 really .... Try go in their and a tike it's your house see how quick you learn otherwise. The officers are outnumbered. 20 to 1. I'm telling you now, I was in prison. I am a convict. You go for n there with attitude it's your house , you going get you and your fellow officers hurt bad. I've witnessed it. I've seen first hand a officer like you take his last breath on prison floor. Not by me. There are inmates in there going to do life in prison. Do you think they care of they catch another murder charge? They don't.
@@truecowboy again. Thank you for watching sir. Glad to hear you are out and doing well.
@@stevemaynard2015 I've been out for 20 years. Beat drug addiction by being in prison. Going prison was best thing ever happen to me. I own two houses. One's a rental. A Harley a truck. Bills paid. Own my own business.
@@stevemaynard2015 I'm just telling you our side of it, because I don't want to see any of you getting hurt. I want you make it home every day. The rookies always go in with inflated chests and a attitude. Most end up quitting
Having an FTO… that’s a new one
